The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family -
Chapter 2840
Meanwhile, Sheldon had finally arrived in Syria after flying for a day and night.
Unlike Charlie, who had the privilege of taking the Concorde, he could only fly all the way to the Middle East. After landing in Turkey, he had to cross the border of the country as he entered northern Syria using the overnight road vehicle.
Deep down in his heart, Sheldon felt like dying as soon as he set foot on Syrian soil.
Because he had entered the country illegally, the vehicle dragged him away to avoid the city, and Sheldon was immediately shocked because of this desolate country.
There were deserts, hills, and decaying towns and villages in this country which was heavily damaged and in a disastrous state.
The endless deserts and mountainous terrains immediately reminded him of an ancient poem, 'The Solitary Smoke in the Desert'.
After traveling hundreds of kilometers deep into the Syrian border, Sheldon had a realization deep down in his heart. He realized that if Charlie refused to agree to let him go, it would certainly be impossible for him to leave Syria in this lifetime. Aside from the fact that he did not know a single person here, it was destined to be extremely difficult for him to leave this country simply by relying on his appearance, which was very different as compared to his surroundings.
When he thought about this, Sheldon was in extreme despair deep down in his heart.
He had initially thought that the level of his despair had already reached rock bottom and that it was impossible for him to feel even more desperate than he was right now, and he finally arrived at the armed zone occupied by Commander Hamed. 2
When the car drove into the valley, fortifications on both sides of the mountains were being built in full swing.
Hamed's friend, who was working in the construction team in Iraq, had arrived in Syria in just a little over ten hours for the sake of money. He had already begun commanding and directing his workers and the military engineering corps that Hamed had just formed last night so that they could work together to build up the fortifications.
When Sheldon saw the desolate valley in front of him, the soldiers with loaded guns, and the permanent fortifications which were actively being built, Sheldon could not help but cry out loud in his heart. Where the hell is this place?!'
'It is located in the middle of ten thousand mountains, and there is extremely isolated traffic here. The level of development at this place is also far below that of a small mountain village in Oskia...' 'Those who do not know might actually think that this is a base area behind enemy lines during the AntiJapanese War...'
Sheldon wanted to cry, but the tears could not come out as he thought that if the television series,, was to be filmed here, it would certainly be even more realistic as compared to the version that was currently being broadcasted on television! 4
Just as Sheldon wanted to cry but had no tears, the convoy, which was led by a military convertible jeep, stopped in front of Hamed's headquarters.
As soon as the car stopped, Hamed, who was wearing a camouflage uniform, walked out excitedly.
The people who had escorted Sheldon here were Isaac's men, but Hamed did not know who Isaac was. He only knew that amongst these people, there was one man that Charlie wanted him to foster on his behalf. So, the rest of the people should naturally be Charlie's subordinates.
Charlie was not only his benefactor, but he was also his god of wealth and strategic commander in chief. S o, Hamed was also filled with enthusiasm and respect for Charlie's subordinates. Hamed hoped that Charlie's subordinates would be able to bring back his respect and enthusiasm to Charlie through his own practical actions.
When Sheldon saw Hamed stepping out swiftly, he felt a thump in his heart.
He thought to himself, 'This guy looks extraordinary. He must be the boss here.'
When Hamed came out, Sheldon was also dragged down by a few of Isaac's subordinates. 6
