Dayana Berlusconi

"You should eat something," she points to the tray, sighing. "Do it for that baby you're carrying there," she comments.

-Aren't you ashamed? How can you kidnap a pregnant woman? -I question.

-I've kidnapped worse things than a pregnant girl, she shrugs her shoulders dismissively.

-You are an inconsiderate person. Where is your humanity? -asked.

-My humanity is in my house, with my wife and my two daughters who hope that I arrive alive, -she surprises me and seems to notice it. I also have a family, and that's why I didn't allow that idiot to touch you, you have enough of being kidnapped and another emotional burden could cause you to miscarry.

"Now it turns out you're a doctor," I mutter and her eyebrows rise.

"In this world you must learn everything, I have cauterized wounds and removed bullets from my body without anyone's help because if I am going to die it will not be because of something stupid like that," he announces. "Now eat," she points out. I sigh and eat the sandwiches under her watchful gaze.

-When will the exchange be? -He questioned.

-Tomorrow, and if you ask how much your head costs, I have not asked a fortune for it, but I know that Bristol would give anything for you to be back with him, I asked him for two hundred thousand dollars, it is enough to return, but if he defaults your agreement," he pauses. He will know San Pedro up close, it is clear that he is not joking. And I will sell you to a slave trade and perhaps they will auction you off or leave you working in some Asian brothel, -my heart races.

"He will honor the agreement," I whisper.

"He will," he takes the tray and leaves me alone, I don't question that guy's words, because with his own hands I finish off the one who tried to r**e me, he is ruthless and although he appears to be a good person, he has his limits.

That night that man brought me a quilt and a mat to cover me and be comfortable, as hard as it may be for me to assimilate, I slept and rested enough, I hope that everything goes well today and I can finally be with my husband at home.

(...)

To move to another place they blindfolded me and made me get into a van. We didn't last long on the road and when they discovered me I didn't know where we were, but this used to be an airport, I have no doubts.

"Don't do anything stupid," he announces and I nod, the least I want to do is put our lives at risk, I couldn't carry so much guilt upstairs. In the distance I can glimpse a car approaching and they take out their guns, the vehicle stops a few meters away and that's when I finally get to see him, Donovan, he looks scared and I can see in his eyes that he hasn't slept these two days.

"Dayana," is what comes out of her mouth and I nod, I know I must look horrible and with a bruise on my face from the guy's punch and not to mention my broken lower lip. "You said you wouldn't hurt her," she says with her frown. He frowns approaching, but stops when the guy points the gun at him.

"Not one more step," he announces. "This was something that got out of my hands, and the person who did this to him no longer exists on this earthly plane," he comments. Your wife and your child are fine, she was not touched and I apologize for her face," she grimaces. The money.

-It's in the trunk.

-What are you waiting for to bring it? She-she steps back under the watchful gaze of the two subjects present, since before there were three of them, Donovan takes a bag and the boy walks to it, and opens it, shows the money and nods. "I hope it's all there," he murmurs, releasing me little by little until police sirens sound out of nowhere. "Damn!" -He exclaims, pressing me against his body-What did I tell you Britol? -He questions, but he appears horrified and at the same time confused. "I swear not to talk to anyone, please don't hurt her," he begs.

"She won't suffer, but you will," he pauses and removes the safety of the gun. You will not know your child," Donovan backs away, cornering himself against the front of the car. "I'm so sorry for this, Dayana," he murmurs. "Please no," he sobbed.

"I'm a man of my word," he reminds me. Bristol did not fulfill his, but I will fulfill mine-the sound of the gunshot deafens my ears, but with my clouded gaze I glimpse his body falling against the pavement.

-No! -I scream, feeling my vocal cords hurt-Donovan! I can't believe it, I struggle for him to free me and he just retreats with me.

"It's time to go, boss," comments the other.

"Leave the money," he announces. "We don't deserve to take it, since it was an unfulfilled pact," I headbutt him and run to Donovan's body, I kneel in front of him and cover my mouth.

It doesn't take long for the blood to cover the entire pavement, and I can't identify where he received the bullet, since his head is bleeding too, I struggle when the handkerchief with that horrible smell covers my nose and mouth until the last thing I see is the inert body of my beloved moving away little by little.

(...)

I don't know how long I was unconscious, but he has taken me to another place and it is a dark warehouse, I stir and both my hands and feet are tied, I don't know what is happening around me and my head throbs, I sob remembering that moment when my husband took that bullet.

My belly contracts and hurts, it's like everything is dead in me, no, no, Donovan, my beloved. Because life must be so unfair, because he had to die, God, it wasn't enough for everything we went through for you to have to tear him away from me like that. "Silence," I hear someone say, I can't see anything because it's very dark.

-Who are you? -I question with fear.

"My name is Amelia," he murmurs. "And you?"

-Dayana-she remains silent-Amelia?

"I'm here," she heard herself a little closer.

-Do you know where we are?

"No," she answers and I can hear her voice trying not to break.

-How did you end up here?

-I let myself be fooled by a boy, he made me believe that we were dating and then he kidnapped me-I hear her sobbing-Did the same thing happen to you too? -my eyes crystallize.

"No, they kidnapped me and murdered me..." I stop and let out the tears. "I murdered my husband," she blurted out as tears ran down my cheeks.

"I'm sorry for your loss," she murmurs.

-What will happen now? -She questioned.

"They will sell us into trafficking, and then we will be sexually exploited," she murmurs.

-How old are you? -Her voice doesn't sound like she's older.

-Fifteen years, -poor girl.

"God," I whisper.

"I was a fool," she cries, I'm so sorry that someone so young is going through this.

We remained silent, overwhelmed by this deplorable situation.

(...)

I have no idea how many hours have passed, and the pain in my unabated belly and the fear increase, I cannot lose the only thing that Donovan has left me, it is the last thing I have left.

The sound of the door opening causes me to close my eyes due to the enormous amount of light that enters the place. Without delicacy we are taken from where we are, I complain because that sudden movement makes my belly hurt more. -This is the merchandise we have-I recognize that man's voice anywhere and I hate him for what he did to me.

"Get in a line," I raise my face as I hear a woman's voice give that order, she looks elegant as she holds a cane to stand firm.

"As madam orders," they make us stand as requested and she goes one by one, lifting her face with her cane.

"This one looks kind of full," she points out when she reaches me and I cover my belly with my hands.

"You are pregnant, Madame, but I assure you that there are men with fetishes for beautiful, pregnant women," he looks at me with his gaze and continues looking at the other girls and boys. I don't understand how far the cruelty of human beings has gone in treating people. as if they were simple cattle.

"Give him his reward, we will take all this merchandise," he announces and several men hand out briefcases to the subjects present, it makes me cringe just seeing that this looks like a livestock fair and I can't help but vomit in front of them. From now on you are the property of Madame, and then of other people who want to pay for you and you better behave, otherwise I would care very little about eliminating you," she pauses. They will do everything I ask of them and I hope you all have a nice trip to Venice, I hope you survive the journey.
