Read The Mortal Instruments City Of Bones book review:
Clary goes to a nightclub where she encounters creatures called Shadowhunters and demons, all of whom are invisible to everyone else, except for the people with the Sight. Shortly after, her mother is kidnapped introducing her into the Shadow World where the Shadowhunters protect humans against the Downworlders (Demons, Vampires, Werewolves and the Fae). Subsequently, Clary discovers that her world was filled with lies and her mother is not who she thought she is.
Cassandra Clare puts forward a fascinating yet complex world with a basketful of backstory coupled with other-worldly creatures, and factions. There are vampires, werewolves, faeries, warlocks, and not to forget, the Shadowhunters- hybrids of humans and angels. Each faction has its own politics, powers, and agendas. Enveloped with exciting action, light romance and evocative, engrossing narration, CC sweeps the readers along with her outstanding elucidation.

This series really surprised me. Now I know why everybody has been raving about Cassandra Clare and her Shadow World. It's absolutely amazing. I used to complain and wonder why Cassandra never really wrote anything that didn't have Shadowhunters in them, but now I understand why she loves to keep building and adding to this creation of hers. The Shadow World is just so vast and never-ending, and I can't wait to see more of the Shadowhunters and their world.
