Chapter 44

Alpha Colton POV

Alpha Peter sent 50 warriors to help us, including his beta Bret. I was beyond grateful. The more man power we had, meant the more like we would succeed in getting the girls back.

Beth had been furious with me. She didn’t want to wait to go and rescue her daughter, I had to convince her that waiting for Alpha Peter’s men would be in our best interest. It would make us stronger. She eventually gave in, but I knew we needed to hurry. Not only for Beth’s sake, but also for Jess and Sam. I just hope we aren’t too late.

I was investing everything in this mission, bringing almost my entire army with me. My gamma, Kyle, was staying behind with a quarter of my warriors to take care of the pack, the rest of the warriors were coming with me.

Failing this rescue mission wasn’t an option, I need to get Jess back before it’s too late.

“Alpha, the warriors are ready when you are.” Josh informed me, bring me out of my thoughts.

“Good. Where’s Beth? If everyone’s ready, we should move out.” I replied.

“She’s waiting impatiently with the warriors. I swear, if we don’t move out soon, she’s going to leave without us.” Josh said and I knew he wasn’t joking. Getting Beth to wait has been challenging, all she wants is to get her daughter back. I don’t blame her one bit for being impatient, I just know we need to be smart about this.

“Ok, let’s go.” I replied, while getting up from my chair and walking out of my office. Josh followed me and we heading out the front doors to meet the warriors.

“Listen up!” I shouted. Drawing all of the warriors attention towards me.

“You all know what the mission is. We’re going in to rescue Jessica and Samantha. Alpha Ryan is likely holding them in his dungeon, that is located behind his pack house. My beta Josh and I, have been there already, so we will be responsible for rescue. I need the rest of you on stand by, prepared for battle. I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that, but if it does, be ready to fight.” I announced.

“Let’s shift and move out!” I shouted. The warriors let out several war calls, before shifting into their wolves.

“You will stay by my side. There’s noway I’m letting anything happen to you. Jess would never forgive me.” I said sternly, while looking at Beth.

“I’m not making any promises. I’ll do what it takes to save my daughter.” Beth replied with her own stern, yet defiant tone.

“Just stay near Josh and I.” I can’t have you wondering off by yourself.” I said, with a disapproving frown. The woman is impossible.

“Stop wasting my time. Let go get my baby girl.” She huffed angrily.

“Fine, but we’re travelling in wolf form. When I shift, get on my back.” I instructed. Beth simply nodded her head in acknowledgement.

I quickly got undress, while Beth had her back turned to me and shifted into my large Black wolf.

I nudged Beth on the arm, letting her know that it was safe to turn around. I bowed low to the ground and Beth understood what I was doing. She quickly climbed onto my back and grabbed two fist fulls of my fur for stability.

When I knew she was secure, I took off in a sprint towards our pack border. Josh and the warriors followed close behind.

Jessica POV

Sam and I ran to the tree line, but we didn’t stop there, we kept running like our lives depended on it. I don’t even know if we were headed in the right direction. All I knew, was that we needed to get as far away from Alpha Ryan as possible.

A twig snapping ahead of us and made me halt in my tracks. Sam must of heard it to, because she also froze. My heart was nearly thumping out of my chest, from both running and nerves.

Within seconds, a wolf appeared from the trees. It was growling viciously towards us. Shortly after, four more wolves appeared and they had us surrounded. s**t! This isn’t good, I thought to myself, as panic set in.

I pushed Sam behind me protectively. I hated that I had gotten her into this mess. Alpha Ryan wants me, she shouldn’t be here.

“Get away from us!” I shouted, while picking up a stick from the ground and swinging it in front of me.

I heard a dry laugh, before Alpha Ryan walked out from behind a tree and into sight. My hopes of escaping was quickly shattering, when I saw him. He had his classic sinister smirk on his face, as he approached me.

“Did you really think I would let you get away from me, again?” He asked, in a dangerous tone. I didn’t answer, what would be the point?

“I have big plans for you Jess, your powers and abilities will be useful to me. Not to mention, I plan on enjoying that perfect little body of yours.” He continued. His eyes had filled with l**t, as he trailed them down my body. A disgusted shiver ran down my spine.

“You’re one sick bastard!” Sam shouted angrily from behind me.

“Oh yes, I almost forgot about the human that’s mated to Alpha Colton’s Beta. I also have big plans for you. Do you know how painful it is to feel your fated mate die? Beta Josh, will be a shell of a man after I kill you slowly and painfully.” Alpha Ryan mused. He seemed to be getting enjoyment out of tormenting us.

“f**k you!” Sam spat out defiantly. Her voice cracked through, I knew she was scared after hearing what he said, she was trying to maintain a strong front.

“It’s probably going to be the opposite, little human. I’ll be f*****g you, before killing you.” He replied, with a smirk. Sam didn’t reply, but she did move her body closer to mine. I could feel her trembling with fear.

“Bring them back to the pack house.” Alpha Ryan ordered. I watched, as all five of the wolves that surrounded us, shifted into their naked human bodies.

They stalked towards us, like true predators. My fear amplified as I swung the stick I was holding. I managed to make contact with one of them. He let out an “ow” sound but continued to move closer.

Two of the men grabbed me by my arms, as I thrashed against their holds. In the corner of my eye, I could see Sam struggling just as violently against the men holding her.

“Please, let us go.” I begged and made eye contact with one of the men holding onto me. I swear, I saw a flash of pity and regret in his eyes, before they turned cold and indifferent. He looked familiar to me. I guess I did grow up in this pack, if I had my memory, I would probably even know his name. I wonder if I had any friends here, before my mother hid me amongst the humans.

“Let’s go.” One of the guys barked out, in a cold hard tone.

I looked around and noticed that Alpha Ryan was no longer with us.

They dragged us kicking and screaming out of the forest and towards a large brick building. It was probably four storeys tall with red bricks on the exterior and a wrap around porch.

My attention was diverted from the building, when I saw Alpha Ryan standing out front with Brad and the guard from the dungeon, kneeling in front of him. They both had fearful expressions on their faces. When we were only 10 feet away, Alpha Ryan spoke. It felt like he wanted us to see what he was about to do and intentionally waited for our arrival.

“You both failed me. I won’t tolerate incompetence. I sentence you both to death.” Alpha Ryan announced, in a bored tone. I gasped at his words, is he really going to kill them because we escaped?

My question was answered, when he drew a blade from behind his back. It was a large hunting knife and it looked extremely sharp.

“I can expl…” Brad tried to protest, but was cut short when Alpha Ryan sliced open his throat with the knife. It happened so face, I’m not sure I even saw him do it.

Brad clutched his now bleeding throat, with wide eyes. I could hear gurgling, as he tried to breath but couldn’t.

My attention was focused on Brad, I didn’t see Alpha Ryan do it but the guard next to Brad, was also clutching his throat, while he bled out in front of me.

I was horrified by the scene that had just unfolded. How could he kill so easily, without an ounce of hesitation or guilt.

The men that were holding onto our arms had let go and backed away from Sam and I. I glanced over at Sam and saw her watching Brad convulsing on the ground with wide eyes. I didn’t know how I felt, he deserved what he got, but I couldn’t help but replace this execution to be barbaric.

I wrapped my arms around Sam and shoved her face to my chest, so she wouldn’t have to watch the two men dying in front of us.

“Now, as for you two. I think it’s time we teach you a lesson. Every time you disobey me or try to runaway, your punishments will be more and more severe.”Alpha Ryan announced, in an overly calm tone. The calmness in his voice was frightening, I could see how much he enjoyed administering his punishments to Brad and the guard. I can only imagine what he has planned for us.

“Bring the human to me.” Alpha Ryan ordered, but his eyes were locked with mine. I could see the amusement swirling within them.

“No! This was my idea. I broke us out of your dungeon. Punish me, not her!” I shouted, while holding onto Sam, as the men tried to rip her from my arms.

“Stop!” Alpha Ryan ordered and everyone froze. He stalked towards me, until his chest was pressed against mine. I wanted to step back, but I was afraid he would hurt Sam.

“You want to take her punishment, on top of yours?” He asked curiously, with a mischievous grin on his face. I looked up at him and gulped before nodding my head.

“Fine, take your shirt off and get on your knees.” He order and took a step back to watch me. I could see the satisfaction and l**t in his eyes. He started to remove his belt and panic set in. Was he going to try and rape me?

“What? Why…” I started to asked, in a shaky voice but was cut off.

“Lashings, Jess. I have bigger plans for our mating ceremony and it doesn’t include taking you out front of my pack house, in the dirt.” He explained, as he folded his belt in half and held it with one hand. I stood frozen for a moment, as I processed his words.

“Now Jess, or Sam over here, will take your punishment.” Alpha Ryan said and I could hear the irritation in his tone, as he lost patience.

With shaky hands, I slowly removed my black long sleeve shirt, before kneeling on the ground. I was only wearing a black lace bra and it was freezing outside. My body was trembling, not only because of the cold weather, but also from fear. I didn’t dare look up at Alpha Ryan, I knew his eyes would be full of l**t, seeing that my cleavage was on full display.

“Don’t you dare touch her!” Sam shouted angrily. Some of the men had to hold her back, as she struggled to break free.

“It’s ok Sam, look away.” I said softly.

“Now, you were each going to get 10 lashes, but since your taking her punishment, you’ll be get…” Alpha Ryan started to say, but was cut off by another voice.

“Like hell I’m going to let you whip her!” I heard a deep, powerful voice shout from behind me. I recognized the voice immediately and relief washed over me. Alpha Colton came to rescue us.
