Chapter 46

Alpha Colton POV

After I finally let go of Jess, I turned my attention to Alpha Ryan’s pack. Everyone had gathered near us, while the fight was happening. I really wasn’t surprised to see relief on a lot of their faces, after I defeated their leader. Alpha Ryan was cruel and twisted person, he enjoyed watching others suffer.

“If anyone wants to challenge me for the pack, now is your chance.” I announce to the group. Everyone had their heads bowed in submission towards me, as a sign of respect. I waited several minutes, it was so silent, you could hear a pin drop.

“Very well. I want the Beta and Gamma to step forward.” I continued. I saw fear in a few pack members eyes and it took a few seconds, before two men finally stepped forward.

They were both young, maybe 20 or 21 years old. I could smell their fear, as they stood trembling in front of me. They didn’t dare lift their eyes to meet mine. They probably thought I was going to execute them. I mean, I wanted to kill all of them for not helping Sam and Jess, but Reality is, going against an Alpha command is next to impossible, even if they wanted to help them; their hands would of been tied.

“Please Alpha, they were only following Alpha Ryan’s orders. He would of killed anyone that went against him.” An older women pleaded, she was crying and if I was to guess, she was likely the mother of one of these men. I was taken aback when I watched Beth engulf the woman in a hug, comforting her. I keep forgetting that Jess and Beth belonged to this pack at one point. They would know all these people, well maybe not Jess right now, not until Beth removes the spell.

“What do you have to say for yourselves?” I asked, while glancing between the two men standing in front of me.

“A-Alpha, we failed Jess and Beth. I used to play with Jess growing up and Beth was like a second mother to me. I’m ashamed for not stepping in. I accept any punishment you see fit.” One of the men replied, in a shaky voice.

“Same for me, Alpha. I was friends with Jess growing up and would never want to see her hurt. I found my mate and I was worried if I went against Alpha Ryan, he would go after her.” The second guy replied, while bowing his head in shame.

“You are both stripped of your ranks. I want to pick the leaders of this pack, myself. Things are going to change around here. I’ll be sending a team of my men to run this place and I’ll be travelling back and forth until I’m satisfied things are under control. Does anyone have a problem with that?” I asked, while my eyes scanned the crowd.

The two men in front of me lifted their eyes, with a shocked expression on their faces. Not because I stripped them of their rank, but because I was sparing their lives.

Everyone remained silent. Just waiting for me to speak again.

“Good. I’m leaving some of my warriors behind and bringing these women home. I will be back in a few days to make some necessary changes around here.” I continued.

“Yes, Alpha. Thank you for sparing them. Alpha Ryan was a cruel and evil man, you didn’t just save Jess and Sam here tonight, but all of us. Many of us have lost loved ones to Alpha Ryan’s sadistic ways. He won’t be missed.” An elderly man spoke up in the crowd, before bowing his head to me.

“Thank you.” I heard many of the pack members say. I could hear the sincerity in their voices.

I watched Beth make her way through the crowd, smiling and talking with pack members, there were no resentment in her demeanour towards them. Maybe they really were all victims to Alpha Ryan’s cruelty.

I turned my attention towards my own people. Sam was holding onto Josh like a sloth to a tree. It was clear in both their expressions that they were relieved to be back in each others arms.

Jess stood beside them, her eyes were locked on me. I saw several emotions swirling within them, relief, happiness, pride and my all time favourite, desire.

“You! Come here.” I said, while motioning with my finger for her to come. She let out a little giggle before walking up to me.

“Goddess, I missed you.” I said, while pulling her into my arms and lowering my lips to hers. She was surprised for a second but quickly relaxed into my embrace and kissed me back, with equal passion and need.

“Are you ok?” I asked, while pulling away from the k**s, but keeping a tight hold on her body. I had already done a look over of her body and she didn’t have any visible injuries, which was a relief. But still, I needed her to say the words, so my wolf and I could relax.

“Yes, better now that you’re here.” She practically whispered, with a small smile forming on her lips.

“You have no idea how worried I was. I’m never letting you out of my sight again.” I said and her eyes met with mine. I could see the confusion, but there was a hint of excitement in them.

“I’m sorry, we should of never gone into our apartment on our own. We thought we were safe, but clearly we weren’t.” She replied sheepishly, while looking away from me.

I grabbed her chin in between my fingers and lifted her face, so her eyes met with mine.

“I think you owe me.” I said sternly and her eyes flashed with concern.

“W-what do you want?” She asked in a low voice, while gulping. I kept my fingers on her chin, I was enjoying being able to touch her. I swear, I could feel the mildest static sensation, where our skin touched.

“Dinner, just the two of us.” I said, while grinning down at her. She smiled and a blush crept across her cheeks. Goddess she’s gorgeous.

“Of course Alpha. I feel like I owe you so much more.” She replied.

“Oh you do, but we will get to that in due time.” I said, with a mischievous grin on my face. Her blush went a couple shades darker, as she processed the hidden meaning behind my words.

“Alpha, what’s the plan?” Josh asked, while walking up to Jess and I. Sam was still holding onto him for dear life. It was almost comical, he was holding her, like a parent would hold they infant against their h*p and her legs had a death grip around his waist.

“I want a dozen warriors to stay behind. I’m still a little leery, that Alpha Ryan didn’t have any supporters within this pack. Have our warriors question everyone.” I replied. I’m relieved that I was victorious in killing Alpha Ryan, but at the same time, I really wasn’t prepared to take responsibility for an entire new pack. This is going to be a lot more work.

“You got it, Alpha. Do you want me to stay being with them?” He asked and I swear for a second there, Sam growled. I had to do a double take, she was clearly opposed to his suggestion. I couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. Josh seemed just as shocked as I was, with the sound that left her throat.

“Don’t look at me like that! You guys do it all time.” Sam said, while shrugging her shoulders. Josh, Jess and I, all busted out laughing.

“No, that won’t be necessary. The warriors can take care of the questioning for now. We will come back in a couple of days.” I replied and I saw Josh let out a relieved sigh.

“Smart answer.” Sam said, with a wink. I simply shook my head. That women has no idea what pack life is like. She’s got a lot to learn, now that she’s going to be living with us. Josh hasn’t even talked about marking her yet. That should be interesting, I’d love to be a fly on the wall when they discuss that, I internally chuckle at the thought.

“What’s the plan, Alpha?” Beth asked, drawing me out of my thoughts.

“Let’s get these ladies home, it’s been a long night.” I replied and she nodded her head.

“We came in our wolf form, so I’m going to shift and you’ll have to climb onto my back, ok?” I heard Josh explaining to Sam.

“Seriously? I’m going to ride you in wolf form? Kinky, I like it.” Sam replied, while rubbing her hands together. Seriously, what is wrong with that woman, I internally laughed at her response.

“Same for you, Jess. When I shift get on my back, ok? I’ll have one of my warriors bring your mother.” I said to Jess.

“What do I hold onto?” Jess asked shyly, with a frown.

“Me.” I replied, while trying to hid a satisfied smirk. I loved the thought of having her body on mine, even if it is in wolf form. She blushed at my reply, but nodded her head.

I stripped out of the short that I was wearing and quickly shifted into my wolf form. I leaned down beside Jess and she was hesitant at first, but eventually threw her leg over my body and hopped on my back. She was gentle, instead of fisting my fur for support, she leaned her chest down on top of me and wrapped her arms around my big fury neck. Hector was practically purring at the closeness.

“Giddy up!” Sam shouted, from on top of Josh’s wolf, before slapping his a*s. He growled in response, only making her giggle.

I looked over and saw that Beth was also securely on the back of a wolf, before I lead the way towards my territory.

Once we arrived. Exhaustion had set in. It was after midnight and all my adrenaline had faded.

I bent down, letting Jess slid off my back, before I shifted into my human form. Jess wasn’t expecting it, her eyes went wide, before she averted them. I let out a light chuckle, she had her eyes locked with my manhood a few extra seconds, before she had finally looked away.

“It’s been a long few days. Let’s go to bed.” I announced to everyone.

“See you guys tomorrow.” Josh replied, as he picked up a squealing Sam bridal style and carried her inside the pack house.

“Thank you for saving my baby girl, Alpha.” Beth said and I could see the sincerity in her eyes.

“It was nothing, Beth. Get some sleep, I would like to get this spell removed from Jess, as soon as possible.” I replied, Beth had a knowing smile on her face.

“Tomorrow, we can do that. I’m feeling much better.” She replied, before hugging Jess and heading towards her room.

“You ready?” I asked Jess and she nodded.

We walked up to my floor and Jess went to open her bedroom door.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked, with an eyebrow raised. She had a confused look on her face.

“Umm…B-bed.” She stuttered out, sounding confused.

“I told you, I’m not letting you out of my sight. Let’s go.” I said, while moving her along with a hand on the small of her back.

“B-but…” she started to protest.

“Hector, needs you close. We won’t be able to sleep unless you’re near us.” I said, cutting her off.

“You want me to sleep with you?” She asked, with her eyebrow furrowed.

“Yes.” I replied, while opening my bedroom door and motioning for her to go in. She complied, but still had a hesitant expression on her face.

“Here, put this on.” I said, as I threw one of my white T-shirt’s at her.

“I just need to use the washroom.” She said shyly, as she made her way to my ensuite.

I took off my shorts and put on a pair of boxers. I prefer to sleep in the buff, but I don’t want to freak Jess out right off the bat, I’ll save that for next time.

I got into bed and left the blankets pulled back beside me for Jess.

A few minutes went by, before the bathroom door opened and Jess stepped out. I couldn’t help the satisfied growl that left my chest, when I saw her wearing nothing but my white T-shirt. Her n*****s were erect and I could see them clearly through the thin material. I could even see her panties through she slightly sheer fabric. My c**k instantly twitched at the sight.

She stood by the bathroom door, looking uncomfortable.

“I’ll sleep on the couch.” She said, while moving towards it.

“Like hell you are, get over her. I won’t try anything, I just need you close to me.” I replied and patted the bed next to me. She hesitated for a minute, but eventually made her way to the bed.

We’ve had some heated moments before, but they have always been interrupted. I can feel she wants me as much as I do, but we really don’t know each other yet. I’ll have to fix that and spend as much time as I can getting to know her.

Jess climbed into bed and rolled onto her side away from me. I took the opportunity and wrapped my arm around her waist, before pulling her body flush against mine. She gasped at the unexpected action, but quickly relaxed into me.

“Sleep, little one.” I whispered into her ear, a shiver ran down her spine, as my breath fanned the skin on her neck.

We were both so exhausted, that it didn’t take long for sleep to consume us.
