The Mysterious Luna -
Chapter 49
Alpha Colton POV
Josh and I, were on a conference call with my warriors that stayed behind at the Cold Stone Pack, when all of a sudden, I was hit with every emotion in the book. They were overwhelming and I knew right away that they weren’t mine.
I felt this strong wave of sadness, followed by happiness, anger and finally fear. I clutched my heart with my hand, I felt like it was about to shatter. What the hell is going on?
“Alpha, you ok?” Josh asked, with a concerned frown.
“I don’t know what’s happening. Something’s not right. I just got hit with an overwhelmingly amount of emotions, but they aren’t mine.” I replied, with my own frown. I felt like I was about to have a panic attack.
“Did you eat something questionable, again?” Josh joked.
“Shut up. I’m being serio…” I started to speak, when Josh’s eyes went wide and he cut me off.
“Your mate!” He blurted out.
“What?” I asked, not following his train of thought.
“Umm…Alpha? Everything ok over there?” One of the warriors asked, on the other line of the conference call.
“We’ll call you back.” Josh replied, before I could and quickly ended the call.
“Where’s Jess?” Josh asked, while abruptly standing from his chair.
“She’s probably with her mom. She was going to try and break the spe…” I started to replied and cut myself off, as the realization hit me. f**k, these are Jess’s feelings that I’m sensing,
“Man, your the slowest human being I’ve ever met. Go to her, you fool!” Josh blurted out, while shaking his head in in disbelief.
I jumped up from my chair and ran out of my office, Josh followed close behind. I was starting to panic, her emotions were so strong and I hated that I wasn’t there to comfort her.
I reached her room in record time, just as I heard glass shattering. It sounded like pure chaos inside her room, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was nervous to replace out.
I quickly opened the door and it was like a scene from a horror movie. Glass was shattered all around the room, there was a strong wind, blowing papers around, yet the windows were closed. Sam was sitting on the bed with a shocked and fearful expression on her face. Beth seemed almost possessed, with her eyes glowing brightly and her hands raised in the air. She was focusing her attention on Jess, who was seated in a chair clutching her head with her hands and trembling uncontrollably.
When her eyes locked with mine, it’s like a switch turned everything off. The wind stopped blowing, Beth fell to the ground unconscious and Jess stopped trembling. She looked at me in disbelief for a few seconds, before her eyes closed and her body slumped over in the chair.
While all this happened, I was hit with an overpowering scent, it was Jess’s but multiplied by like 100. It enveloped my senses like a warm blanket, I couldn’t get enough of the intoxicating smell of chocolate and lavender. Hector was ecstatic in my head, repeating the same thing over and over.
“Mate, Mate, Mate.”
“Mine, Mine, Mine”
I can’t believe it, Jess really is my mate. I was in so much shock that I just stood frozen by the door, trying to catch my breath.
“Holy s**t! That was crazy, are they ok?” Sam asked nervously, while standing from the bed and rushing to Jess’s side. Her words snapped me out of my shock and I rushed over to check on Jess, also.
I let out a relieve sigh, when I noticed she was still breathing. The overwhelming sense of emotions, must of caused her to faint.
I glanced over to see that Josh was helping out Beth. She was slowly regaining consciousness.
I mind-linked the doctor to meet me in my room immediately, as I picked Jess up bridal style. The mild static, that I had once felt when I touched her, was multiplied and it sent waves of pleasure through my body. I didn’t want to put her down, it felt so good. I lean down into her neck and inhale her mouthwatering scent.
“Where are you taking her?” Sam asked, with concern in her tone.
“My room, I don’t want her getting cut. There’s glass everywhere in here. The doctor will meet us there.” I replied, while making my way to the door.
Josh helped Beth up into a stand position. They followed us into my room.
I laid Jess down on the bed, while Josh helped Beth sit on the bed next to her.
“What happened in there?” I asked Beth. I was worried that things didn’t go as planned, the room was a complete mess.
“Jess unintentionally used her magic to fight against mine, when she was overwhelmed with emotions. It’s not her fault, she doesn’t know how to control it yet, I’ll have to teach her. I was starting to worry that I wouldn’t be able to break the spell, her magic was so strong. But when you came in and distracted her, she put down her walls long enough for me to finish the job.” Beth replied, sounding completely exhausted. She was leaning up against the headboard with her eyes closed.
“Is she going to be ok?” I asked, unable to hide the concern in my tone.
“She’ll be fine. She just needs to rest and regain her energy.” Beth replied, putting me slightly at easy.
A few minutes went by, when there was a knock at the door.
“Come in” I said.
The door opened and in walked the doctor.
“Alpha, what can I do for you?” The doctor ask, while looking at me curiously.
“She passed out. I need you to make sure she’s ok.” I replied, while motioning to Jess.
I provided the details that lead to Jess passing out, before the doctor checked her vitals and ran a few tests.
“Alpha, everything seems normal. I would say Beth was right, when she said that Jess simply needs some rest.” The doctor said, while packing up his equipment.
“Thanks for coming doctor.” I replied, while nodding my head to him.
“I would suggest someone stay with her, when she wakes up she might be overwhelmed again.” The doctor said, while making his way to the door.
“I don’t plan on leaving her side, doctor.” I replied. The doctor simply nodded his head and left the room.
‘Alpha, Sam’s a little shaken up from what happened, do you mind if I take her back to our room?’ Josh asked, through the mind-link. I looked over to see Sam sobbing in his arms. It was clear that she was concerned for her friend.
‘Go for it. I’m going to re-schedule our meetings. I don’t plan on leaving Jess alone today.’ I replied.
“Hey Sam, let’s go to our room.” Josh suggested, in a soft voice.
“I don’t want to leave her.” Sam sobbed.
“Don’t worry, as soon as she wakes up I’ll mind-link Josh.” I reassured her.
“Ok, but I want to know right away.” She replied sternly, pointing her index finger at me and I simply nodded.
“Alpha, if you don’t mind, I think I should go and lay down for a bit. Maybe Josh and Sam could help me back to my room?” Beth asked, while glancing over at Sam and Josh.
“Of course.” Josh replied, while helping Beth onto her feet.
“I’ll keep you posted if anything changes with Jess.” I told Beth.
“Thank you.” She replied, with a soft smile. They all left the room, leaving me alone with my beautiful mate.
I laid down on the bed next to her and brushed a few strands of hair from her face. I don’t think I’ll ever get over the pleasurable static sensation that courses through my body, every time I touch her. I brushed over her cheek with my thumb, even while unconscious, she still responded to my touch by leaning further into it.
I can’t believe I didn’t trust the signs. Josh, of all people, called it right off the bat and I kept on denying it. I almost chose a mate, right In front of Jess’s nose. I shuttered at the thought. Thank the moon goddess, that I came to my senses in time.
I wrapped my arm around Jess and snuggled into her, enjoying the warmth of her body against mine. It instantly relaxed me and I must of dozed off.
The next thing I knew, I woke feeling a weight on my body. It was heavier than a blanket, but not overly heavy that I was being crushed. I opened my eyes to replace Jess straddling me. She was awake, with her face buried in my neck and I could feel her inhale and exhale against my skin. To my surprise and excitement, I felt her tongue trail from my collarbone, all the way up to the sweet spot below my ear. A shiver ran through me, at the pleasurable sensation.
I chuckled, when I realized how bold she was being. I’m not going to lie, it turned me on and my c**k twitched in my pants. I wrapped my arms around her waist, when she tried to pull away. I didn’t want her to stop what she was doing. Goddess, it felt so damn good.
“Do you smell something you like?” I asked, in a deep husky voice.
“I can’t stop myself, trust me I tried.” She said shyly. I could tell she was flustered. If I could see her face right now, I knew she would be blushing.
“You can smell me all you want, Mate.” I whispered right next to her ear and emphasized the word, Mate. She shivered in my arms, but went back to inhale in the crook of my neck shamelessly.
“Did you know?” She asked, while keeping her nose against my skin. I hesitated for a minute. How do I explain that the signs were there, but I ignored them. She’s going to think I’m a complete fool. I guess I better start being honest now, even if she does think I’m an i***t, I don’t want to start our relationship with a lie.
“Something about you felt different. I felt this undeniable attraction towards you and my wolf and I seemed to be very possessive when you were around. But I was stupid and kept denying the signs. Josh even called it, which by the way, I won’t ever hear the end it when he replaces out.” I replied and she chuckled against my skin. I just love her sweet laugh, it’s addictive. It instantly brought a smile to my face.
“How do you feel?” I asked and she pulled away to look me in the eyes.
“I’m a little overwhelmed, if I’m being honest. I went from not knowing who I was, to remembering 19 years of my life in the span of minutes. Not to mention, replaceing out that I have a mate.” She replied and I could see the internal conflict. Her eyes kept switching between her beautiful emerald colour, to a dark almost black. I knew it was her wolf trying to come forward.
“What does your wolf have to say?” I asked, feeling curious about what they were arguing about. Her blush turned a few shades darker, before she replied.
“She’s been pestering me to mark and mate you, ever since I woke up. I calmed her down temporarily by smelling you.” She replied, while shaking her head. I held back my laughter, I didn’t want to embarrass her. Little does she know, my wolf has been on my case about the same thing.
“You’ve been through a lot, Jess. I’m not going to rush you. We can mark each other when you’re ready, not because you feel you have to but because you want to.” I said, while pulling her back down on top of me and rubbing her back.
“Thank you.” She said softly, while letting out a relieved sigh. We laid in that same position for several minutes, both of us just enjoying each others warmth.
“Can I smell you, again?” She asked shyly and as much as I didn’t want to laugh, I couldn’t hold it in. She sounded so cute. I know her instincts are hitting her all at once, specially since her wolf has been suppressed for over 6 months. I can only imagine, how overwhelming it must be for her.
“You can smell me all you want, little mate.” I replied and before I was even done speaking, her face was in the crook of my neck, inhaling my sent.
A m**n left her lips and she started to rock her h**s, grinding her core against me. I’m not even sure if she realized she was doing it. I grabbed ahold of her h**s to stop her, it was taking every last bit of my self control. I knew if I mated with her, there’s no way I would be able to resist marking her and she’s not ready. She needs a bit of time to wrap her head around every that happened today and I need to respect that. Last thing I want is her having any regrets.
“How about I have dinner brought up for us?” I suggested between gritted teeth. It was physically killing me to stop her from taking the initiative. I wanted to ravage her body so bad, it hurt.
“Ok.” She said softly, while pulling away from my neck. Her face was flush and I could see the desire swirling in her eyes, as she looked down at me.
Oh goddess, tonight is going to be torture.
