The Mysterious Luna
Chapter 57

Jessica POV

I kept getting hit with more and more of Colton’s emotions and it was starting to scare me. I had a really bad feeling that he was in danger.

I ran into his office, with my mother and Sam. Kyle, his gamma, was sitting at the desk going over document when he noticed us, he quickly bowed his head in respect.

“Luna…” Kyle started to greet me. I cut him off, before he could finish.

“Something bad happening to Colton and Josh, both Sam and I, felt their emotions through the mate bond.” I blurted out.

Kyles eyes went wide, as he processed my words.

“I’ll call the office, there’s always someone there to answer the phone.” Kyle replied nervously, as he quickly picked up the phone and dialled. The phone kept ringing, but no one answered.

“s**t!” Kyle said, as he hung up the phone.

“Get our warriors ready, we’re heading out immediately.” I ordered and I surprised myself, with the powerful aura that accompanied my command.

“Yes, Luna.” Kyle replied and ran out of the office.

I made my way behind the desk, while my mother and Sam remained by the door.

“What are you doing?” Sam questioned, with a frown.

“Alpha Peter, he’s a close ally to Colton and his pack shares a border with the Cold Stone Pack. He can get there, before our men can.” I replied and I saw the hopeful expression cross Sam’s face.

I went through all of Colton’s file folders, until I found the one I was looking for. On the front page, was all of Alpha Peter’s contact information, including phone number.

I didn’t waste anytime, before picking up the phone and dialling his number. After two rings, the line was picked up.

“Alpha Peter, speaking.” I heard a man’s voice greet on the other side of the line.

“Alpha Peter, this is Jessica, I’m Alpha Colton’s mate.” I replied, nervously. I wasn’t sure how he would take this call. He didn’t know me at all and I’m sure he wasn’t aware that I was mated to Alpha Colton, no one really knew yet, except for a select few. The line was silent for a second before he spoke.

“Hmmm… I didn’t realize that Alpha Colton had found his mate. Are you the same Jessica, that he challenged Alpha Ryan for?” Alpha Peter asked.

“Yes, when my mother broke the spell that was protecting me, Alpha Colton and I were able to sense each other as mates.” I answered.

“That explains a lot, congratulations. Now, what can do I for you, Luna?” He asked curiously.

“Colton really needs your help, I need your help. He’s at the Cold Stone Pack right now and I can sense something bad has happened. The beta’s mate was with me, when I sensed his emotions and she could sense her mates emotions almost at the same time. We can’t get ahold of them by phone. I know your close by…” I explained and he cut me off.

“Give me a second Luna, I’m getting a mind-link as we speak, from my border patrol.” Alpha Peter said and I waited for him to speak again.

“He’s under attack. My warriors just witnessed hundreds of Alpha Philip’s men, crossing onto the Cold Stone Pack territory. I have to tell you Luna, this isn’t good, I don’t know how many men Alpha Colton has with him, but it sounds like Alpha Philip’s has another pack working with him.” Alpha Peter explained and my heart sunk to the pit of my stomach. This can’t be happening, we need to get there before it’s too late.

“What is it?” Sam asked anxiously, when she saw the colour drain from my face.

“Hundreds of wolves just entered the territory. They are under attack.” I replied, in a shaky voice and both my Mother and Sam had the same reaction I did, their faces paled and they looked concerned.

“Will you help us?” I practically whispered the question on the phone.

“Of course, Alpha Colton has always been there for my pack and I plan on showing him the same loyalty. My warriors are getting ready to move in, as we speak.” He replied and I let out a sigh of relief. Thank the goddess, Colton has form strong ally’s since becoming Alpha.

“I’m moving out now with our men. We will be there as fast as we can.” I replied, before hanging up the line. I didn’t even let Alpha Peter say anything further, I needed to hurry.

We ran out of the pack house and I was relieved to see that Kyle had done what I ordered him to do. All of the warriors were there and ready to move out.

“Listen up! I just got off the phone with Alpha Peter, he confirmed that the Cold Stone Pack is under attack. Hundred of warriors were seen crossing onto the territory a few minutes ago. He’s sending his warriors to assist but even with them, that’s not enough.” I announced. I heard gasps and whispers amongst the men.

“We will never get there in time.” I heard one of the warriors say, in a concerned, yet defeated tone.

I let out a frustrated sigh, he’s right, we aren’t that far out, but it will still take us over a half hour to get there. We don’t have that kind of time.

I turned to my mother, when all of a sudden I got an idea.

“Mom, what about our teleportation abilities? How far does that work and can you bring people with you?” I asked the question, with a hopeful tone. I saw my mother’s eyebrows furrow, as she thought over my question.

“It doesn’t have a limit on distance, you just need to have been there before and imagine where you want to be. As for bringing people, I’ve never tried it. I’m guessing that if they are touching you when you teleport, in theory they should be transported with you.” My mom replied, with a thoughtful frown.

“Sam, you need to stay here. I’m sorry, but I can’t put you at risk.” I said sternly, Sam pouted not liking the idea but she didn’t argue. She’s not stupid and knows that being human she would be more of a liability than anything.

I turned my attention back to the men standing in front of us.

“I’ve got a plan. You all probably don’t know, but my mother and I are witches. We have special abilities, one of them being teleportation. I need as many warriors to touch us at the same time, if this works, we will be brought straight into the fight, be prepared.” I announced and I saw several shocked looks within the crowd and no one was moving.

“Now!” I shouted, while letting my powerful aura roll out in waves. That got them moving. Within seconds, my mother and I were surrounded my warriors, they crammed themselves tightly around us and they all tried to put a hand somewhere on our bodies.

“We will make as many trips as we have to, to get you all there, those that don’t make it this trip, wait for one of us to return.” I instructed, before I closed my eyes and pictured myself in front of the Cold Stone Pack house. I remembered the area vividly, especially where Colton had fought Alpha Ryan, for me. I was nervous for what we might see, but I knew there was no time to waste. I just hope we aren’t too late.

After a few seconds, I felt my body heat up and butterflies invaded my stomach. It felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride. I heard the warriors gasp, as they also experienced the same sensation.

When it finally stopped, I opened my eyes and my heart sunk. The teleportation was successful and we were smack dab in the middle of a full on war. It was a b***d bath, bodies laid lifeless all over the ground and people were fighting in both human and wolf form.

It was such a mess, I couldn’t even make out who was our people and who was the enemy. The warriors that we successfully transported with us, new exactly what to do. They were quick to shift into their wolves and join the fight, knowing exactly who was on our side and who wasn’t. I felt proud to be there Luna at that moment.

“I’ll bring the rest. You need to replace your mate.” My mother said and I nodded, before she disappeared in front of my eyes.

I scanned the crowd, looking for any sign of either Colton or Josh.

I frozen in fear, when something caught my attention. Almost in the exact same spot that Colton previous killed Alpha Ryan, laid a body with a wolf hovering over top of him. I ran towards him, feeling a pull that I couldn’t explain. As soon as I saw his face, my heart sunk, it was Colton and he wasn’t moving. He had claw marks all over his torso and I couldn’t even tell if he was still alive or not.

The wolf was about to bite down on his neck, bringing me out of my shocked state. My b***d started to boil at the sight and I had never felt this much fear and anger at the same time. A burst of energy ran through my body and I felt the exact second it left me. The wolf that was about to bite Colton, flew across the yard, before he slammed against a tree. He hit it with so much force, that he was unconscious on impact and laying in his human form, at the base of the tree.

I was about to run over to Colton, when I caught sight of four wolves attack another body, right next to where Colton laid. It didn’t take me long, to realize it was Josh and he didn’t look in good shape, all four wolves were mauling him and he was also unresponsive.

With as much force as I could muster, I sent all four wolves flying across the open space. I didn’t wait to see where they landed, my heart was racing with dread, I needed to go check on Colton.

I ran to his side and kneeled down next to him. He had claw marks all over his body, but I could pick up a faint heartbeat. I felt slightly relieved, but I knew he needed medical attention and fast.

I glanced over at Josh and saw a few of our warriors tending to him, which told me that he must also be alive.

“Stay with me Colton. I can’t lose you.” I pleaded, while applying pressure to the deepest wounds.

I lifted my eyes, to see that all our warriors were now here and the enemy wolves were retreating. We were winning, we finally had the numbers to dominate this fight. I felt slightly relieved, but I wouldn’t completely relax, until I knew Colton would be ok.

“Luna, Josh needed medical attention immediately, he’s lost a lot of b***d and he’s not healing fast enough.” One of the warriors that was tending to Josh, reported.

“Ok, bring him closer to me, I’ll teleport them both back to our territory.” I replied, before him and a few other warriors, carried Josh’s limp body over to where I was kneeling next to Colton. They gently placed his body on the ground next to me.

I placed a hand on both of their chests, as I envisioned our pack house. It didn’t take long, before I opened my eyes and found that we had made it back to our territory.

Sam was waiting out front with a few warriors and gasped when she saw the state of her mate. She ran over to where they laid on the ground and crumbled beside Josh’s body.

“Oh my goddess, is he alive.” She sobbed, as she grabbed his face in her hands.

“Yes, but they need a doctor, now!” I shouted, while looking at the warriors just standing around with shocked expressions. Their faces were pale and I knew it wasn’t easy to see there Alpha in such a state, but now wasn’t the time to freeze up.

“Yes, Luna.” One replied and his eyes glazed over, telling me that he was mind-linking the doctor.

“Let’s carrying them to the hospital, the doctor will need his equipment.” I instructed and six warriors ran over to where we were. Three of them, carried Colton and the other three carried Josh.

Sam was an emotional reck, she could barely lift herself from the ground.

“They’re fighters Sam. They will make it through this, they have to.” I reassured her, as I helped her off the ground. She didn’t say anything, only buried her tear filled eyes into my shoulder, as we followed the warriors towards the hospital.

Once we reached the hospital, the doctor was already there with a few nurses. Sam managed to get her emotions in check and her nurse instincts kicked in. She wiped away the last few tears that ran down her cheeks, before washing her hands and helping the doctor care for Josh and Colton.

Both Colton and Josh were wheeled off into an operation room. There was nothing left for me to do, but wait and pray. That’s when all the emotions that I was holding back, bubbled to the surface. It was like my body knew my job was done and I was finally allowed to break. I crumbled to the ground, as tears flooded my eyes. I brought my legs to my chest and hugged them tightly.

Please goddess, don’t take him from me. I just found him and I’m not ready to let him go yet, I silently prayed.
