Kade’s a wolf. I wasn’t surprised he was concerned with my new bad habit.

“I didn’t know what else to do. It lunged at me.”

“It’s okay.” He squeezed my shoulders. “You might not be standing here if you didn’t.”

“I know but it came naturally… I don’t like that.”

“It did?” He raised his brow. “Are you sure?”

I nodded.

“Don’t tell anyone about this.”

“About the wolf or about the illegal blow?”

“Both. It stays between us. Don’t tell Alex, Gabbie.”

I pressed my lips together and nodded. Illegal blows were a serious thing now I had to watch myself or else it could happen again.

“Are you good enough to go back to the Castle?” I asked.

Kade smirked “Not a fan of outdoor say?”

I shrugged. He found my hip and caressed it.

“Come,” he said. I took his hand and followed him through the forest.

Minutes later we arrived at McGregor Academy.

“Wrong Castle Kade?” I asked.

“No.” We went around the imposing building

Kade opened a bronze door leading to a dark stairwell. I stared at Kade.

“Scared of the dark?” He grinned.

“I’m not the biggest fan of the dark!”

He laughed and allowed me to go in before him. The stairwell was short. After crossing a short hall. I recognized the library floor. Kade opened the library door and ushered me inside. I half expected the librarian to scold us for being there. It was close to midnight so the place was deserted.

Kade took me to the science fiction section. It was dusty and tucked away in the back of the massive library.

“Kade.” I said after he slammed me against the bookshelf.

Surprisingly it didn’t fall in a domino effect. He pressed his body against mine.

“What? You don’t want to have sex under the moon.”

“The library’s our next best thing?

He smirked. He toyed with my tube top then yanked it down. A chill ran through my chest, hardening my nipples.

“Damn,” he whispered.

He lifted me off the ground and wrapped my legs around his waist effortlessly.

“Alright ladies. The sooner we get started the sooner we leave,” Alpha Ivan said.

“Is Athena making you supervise?” Alex asked.

Ryan popped up beside Ivan. “Yeah. Get a move on. Athena doesn’t want either of you near the Omega Slums. He pointed at Alex and Kade.

“I’m not even an omega!” Leiah stomped her foot.

Leiah didn’t want to be dragged to the omega slums so she went willingly grumbling the entire way. The trek to the place was gruelling my shoes were ruined and my hair had been caught in several branches. Ryan and Ivan stopped outside a string of hanging vines.

“Athena wants the place spotless,” Ivan smirked at Leish.

“Your supplies are in there. You’ll be called out after five hours.”

“Five hours! I won’t make it.”

“Give it a rest Leiah let’s go,” I snapped and walked through the hanging vines.

The stench of death smacked me in the face. Please tell me someone remembered to get the omegas out of the slums. Upon careful examination of the sources of the horrendous stench, I realized it wasn’t human flesh. The blood on the leaves was animal. The dried–up bones belonged to creatures from the
