Chapter 1648 A Little Chat

Cindy walked over to the door and opened it by centimeters, just enough for her to look outside. Ian was lying on the couch, seemingly asleep. She sighed and closed the door. Since it was still early, she went back to bed. With lan out of the room, she could finally sleep.

Barely even a minute after she closed her eyes, Cindy fell asleep. Because of her poor sleep earlier, she didn't wake up until late in the morning, and that was only because the sun was shining brightly. She was stunned for a moment, then she changed her clothes and came out.

Aurora and lan were on the couch. Aurora was watching TV, while lan was yawning. After Cindy came out, Aurora chuckled. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?"

Cindy couldn't possibly tell Aurora that she couldn't sleep the whole night, especially when she was the one who got the bed. "Yeah."

"I see." Aurora turned back to the TV. "But someone didn't."

lan frowned and looked at his mother in annoyance.

However, Aurora ignored him. "The floor's cold today," she said to herself.

Cindy blinked and looked at lan.

Aurora knew what she was thinking, so she said, "You don't have to stare. He said nothing, but I'm not stupid. I know what's going on. He was lying on the couch when I woke up, and he's sore all over. The bed's not hard enough to make him sore, so there's only one explanation for this."

Cindy pursed her lips, but she said nothing. In fact, she had no idea what to say.

Aurora glanced at her. When she noticed Cindy looking embarrassed, she swallowed everything else she had to say and changed the topic. "You should have some breakfast. It's in the microwave. We had ours already."

Cindy didn't have the appetite and only went into the kitchen to get herself a glass of water. She couldn't help but glance at lan from the corner of her eye while drinking.

lan was leaning against the couch, looking lethargic. Obviously, last night was a disaster for him.

Cindy was already feeling guilty about it, but seeing him looking so tired only made it worse. She went to take a quick shower before coming back to the kitchen to take her breakfast. When she came out of the kitchen, she asked, "Have you had your breakfast?"

lan and Aurora turned around together. "Are you asking me?" Aurora asked.

Cindy knew she was just teasing her, so she answered calmly, "No."

Aurora smiled. "And here I thought you were."

lan looked at her. "Not yet." He just couldn't work up an appetite. His whole body was sore, making it impossible for him to even think about eating.

Cindy tried her best to act natural. "Wanna have breakfast together then?"

Before lan could say anything, Aurora cut in, "Of course! He's been waiting for you."

No, he wasn't. He just couldn't work up an appetite even until now. However, he didn't refute Aurora and just stood up. He said nothing, but he had obviously agreed. They went to the table and sat down across from each other.

Cindy looked at him sheepishly before asking, "The floor must be cold."

"Yes. My whole body's sore." Ian didn't want to lie. Even if he did, it would have been too obvious.

Cindy nodded. "Why don't I take the couch tonight? You take the room."

lan chuckled. "We have a problem. My mother," he muttered. "I would have slept on the couch last night if I could." When Aurora woke up this morning and saw him on the couch, she straight up mocked him, and that made him lose sleep. If he had known his mother would nag, he would have kept sleeping on the floor in the room.
