Chapter 13:

my feet had carried me home non-stop. reaching the front door, myhands trembled as I tried turning the doorknob. succeeding, I enteredthe house all the way up to mom's room, barging in, whilst throwingthe door open. mom sat, with Daniel beside her.

startled, they both froze at the sudden intrudance. Daniel seemedsurprised as he put his hand on his heart as though he was about todie. calming down, he turned to face me, his eyes suddenly alert at mydemeanour.

"Colleen, what's the matter?" he questioned.

panting, I swallowed a lump in my throat which had made it hard forme to speak. what was I going to do? swallowing, I opened my mouthas my c=voice shook with every word.

"He knows mom... and he’s going to come.” I said with my heartpounding faster in my chest.

"Who is coming?" Daniel questioned at the sudden exchange betweenmom and I. I couldn't bring myself to tell him what had happened."Calm down my love, pack up, you're going to France. there aren’t anypacks formed so you'll be just fine.” she said her eyes not meetingmine. what?

"What's going on? who is coming? why are you leaving? you're notgoing anywhere if there's danger I'm here." he said as he looked at mesternly.

"Daniel, please..." I said not replaceing my courage.

"No Colleen, No." he said not backing down.

"I GOT REJECTED!" I yelled in frustration as my heart clenched."..What?"

"I pathetically fell in love with my mate and got rejected the same way.a man like him doesn't deserve us." I said as his eyes widened."You're..Pregnant?" he asked slowly as his eyes darkened.

I looked down shamefully as I nodded at his question. Daniel growledas he turned around taking a breath. I couldn't face him. it was tooembarrassing and it was too pathetic. to think, I thought replaceing mymate was going to be my blessing but turns out...it was a punishment."Does he know? Daniel asked.”

"I don’t know, please Daniel, please. I need to get out of here I don'twant him here, I don't want him near me. please Daniel.”

Daniel growled looking pissed. "What kind of idiot is he.!" he shoutedbanging the side table.

Sighing he rubbed his temples, his head trying to process all thisnewfound information. everything was happening too fast. Danielgrabbed my hand dropping a credit card in, before pulling my wrist anddragging me to the car. was he upset? calling up a person, he put thephone down and began to drive away from the house.

"Where are we going?" I questioned

"I'm getting you out of here.” he said monotonously.

"COLLEEN!" I could hear Reese's Growl. But it was too late. I was notgoing to look back. he didn't deserve us.

I felt a wet liquid on my hands, only for my vision to become blurry.why was I crying? I couldn't help but let the tears pour out, as my hearttightened in my chest. I couldn't let myself falter. he didn't deserve us.he didn't love us. he didn't need us.

likewise... I don't need him.

**Reese’s POV: (finally!!)**

She was gone, and I couldn't chase her at the speed the car was going.this made no sense. I was meant to resolve everything, but I didn't thinkshed fall ill because of it all. if I had a choice, I wouldn't have draggedher into this.

rushing into her house, I knocked on her mother's bedroom as she saida faint come in. she looked at me with a sad smile, before herexpression turned pained. "Edna...!" I rushed to her side.

"I'm okay, it seems my body has gotten weaker than before.” she saidsadly. "I'm sorry I couldnt stop her or change her mind.” sheapologized as she stroked my hair. "It seems our family has caused youa lot of trouble." she smiled.

"You don't need to apologize; I just wish shed stay for a moment longerso I could explain things to her better... Edna, why did you let her go?" Icouldn't help but let my conscious get the better of me.

it felt as though my heart was being ripped apart knowing she wasn'tpresent any longer. if hurting our relationship meant shed be safe, I'ddo it a hundred times. but why was she so hasty? I couldn't understandher need to run away. I clenched my hand as I felt my myself drawblood. the moon goddess was playing tricks and it wasn't fun in anysense.

"Reese, you have to get her back! You have to explain things to her.she’s young, she’s fragile and she doesn't understand. you need to tellher.”

"How am I supposed to do that Edna without risking our lives? How amI supposed to replace her? Would she believe me? we'd get found outbefore I get to utter any words." I said as I sighed combing my handthrough my hair roughly.

"I sent her to France Reese, you'll both be fine there. since its moreopen, the chances of getting caught are slim. go to her Reese, you bothdon't deserve this. Explain things but show her your sincerity. she won'tforgive you at first, but be patient with her, she’s been through somuch.” Edna Spoke out.

"Yes." I said, I stood up, turning around the door slammed open, andbefore I could do anything I felt a fist connect with my jaw. My alphainstincts made me become fully aware and ready to counterattack."DANIEL!" Edna yelled as he punched me once again. I felt myself grow!in anger, my pheromones making him fall back in dominance.

"HOW COULD YOU GET HER PREGNANT THEN REJECT HER! “ hechoked out.

my whole world froze. what?

Pregnant?

"Pregnant? Colleen's pregnant?” I turned to Edna, only to see her guiltyeyes. She looked away. My mate was pregnant and I didn't even realizeit. She was carrying a part of me. So all the tiredness, all the puking, allthe emotional breakdowns was because she was pregnant.

And what hurts most is she was in pain, along with my child. I could'vehurt her. I could've killed my own child. She was suppressing herfeelings; she was breaking on the inside. But stood strong.

"Edna why didn't you tell me?" I questioned her. She simply looked atme with tears eyes, but tears were already rolling out my eyes. I wasgoing to be a father. And I didn't even know....

I banged my hand in the ground. "That stupid mate of yours and histhreats! If only I didn't, if didn't reject her, she'd...” I said as a lumpformed in my throat. haa, this was simply a joke. this whole thing wassome kind of ploy. to think I hurt not only my mate but the child shewas carrying.

"Reese, don't waste too much time! go to her.” Edna said.

I had to get her back. I had to get them back.
