Chapter 18:

“*Reese's POV: (Continued)**

groaning from sleep I allowed myself to sit up. her scent washed overme in waves of sweetness and there was nothing more I wanted than tomark her as my Luna. my other Half...My mate. she shuffled beside mebefore replaceing comfort and snoring lightly again, making me chuckle ather cute behaviour.

again, I really wanted to do it again, but not wanting to wake her up inthe midst of her slumber I held myself back. Colleen Anderson. theomega of the pack. this felt like another alpha and omega tale that I'veheard countless times from those alphas considered rare. An alphabeing paired with an omega was just as rare as an alpha being pairedwith and alpha. it was special.

but.. just as much as it was rare it was also quite dangerous

sighing, I refused to let my negative thoughts get a hold of me.grabbing my boxers and pants that was misplaced on the floor Iheaded down to the quiet pack house. the party had ended a couple ofhours ago, and what remained were drunk teenagers passed out on thefloors of the pack house. they reeked of alcohol making me gagslightly. the one reason I hated attending gatherings like this.

it was quite bizarre how the party continued for this long even withoutthe person the party was being held for. I couldn't help but think overDean's words of this being beneficial to the beta’s daughter. taking mythoughts away from something that would just put me in a bad mood Igrabbed a bottle of water and decided to make my way back upstairstowards colleen.

"I see you had a wonderful time." a voice said catching my attention.

I turned around to come face to face with a man I had never seenbefore, but his eyes. I'd seen his eyes before. he sat in the dimly litliving room.

"Who are you?" I questioned.

he simply chuckled at my question, my annoyance getting the best ofme. I had no time for this. he stood up tilting his head towards me."The name's daddy of the girl you just slept with." he's smile sinisterand cunning.

taken aback by his words I couldn't calm my urge to attack him.Colleen’s father. the man that not only abandoned Edna but also her.Could I even call him her father?

"What do you want?” I asked as my hands clenched in anger. there wasdefinitely something off about this man. "I f you are worried I'm goingto hurt her, you can stop. she is my mate and I will love and cherishher." I stated.

"Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. As expected of an alpha of a pack as powerful as this. butyou see, Alpha," he mocked. "That's the problem, I don't approve of thisrelationship and you're going to end it with her." he smiled making melook at him as though he had grown two heads. give up my mate? wasthe reason he had left them because he was unstable?

"Rejection . and you're going to take another as your Luna." he said. Istared at the man in disbelief. there was no other explanation. he hadto be crazy.

"I refuse.” I stated firmly. Did he think I was an alpha for no reason? butI couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong with this manthat stood Infront of. he looked weak, but the way he spoke made itseem as though he had something that I couldn't attack. not at themoment though.

"What if I tell you, that I can kill your mate in an instant, by just cuttinga something she owns?."” he said silencing my thoughts.

"That's impossible.” I said darkly. "You wouldn't be able to unless you-"he cut me off.

"it seems the alpha is aware of what I might have done to attain such afeat." he chuckled. "Well, what can I do if the dear old alpha doesn'tbelieve me? might as well prove it to you then." he said as he walked toa random teenager lying drunk on the ground. Pulling a strand of hairfrom the unaware teenager, he pulled out a pair of scissors and cutright in the middle. Walking up to the boy, his heartbeat began fading.What was happening? Why was this happening? soon after he startedwithering.

"It would hurt to know that your beloved Luna is next.” he saidsickeningly.

"Why would you wish to hurt your own daughter?” I said as I glaredtoward him.

"My daughter? she’s nothing but my pawn to success and her pain ismy pleasure.” he said, as his eyes darkened. "It seems I'm too lenient innegotiating, how about we put it to the test?" he said as he walkedpassed me up to the room upstairs in a speed. Running after him Ipushed the door open only to see him running his hand throughColleen’s hair.

I took a step forwards as he pulled two stands of her hair as she sleptsoundless. "now Alpha, what will it be?" he asked me seriously, hisexpression darkening.

"I will do as you say.... just stay away from her." I said as he laughed atmy decision And just simply vanished into thin air.

a deal with the devil. ha.... really and truly unexpected.

I walked towards the bed, painfully as I slipped under the covers as Ipulled her closer to me. I let my fingers run on her arms, and throughher hair. she was going to get hurt, but if it meant replaceing a way to getrid of the pest that decided to turn our lives upside down, I'd justhoped to the moon goddess she was strong enough to hold out.

**nd of flashback**

**Colleen’s POV**

I stared at Reese in disbelief. My father. how funny.

"do you understand why I did it?" he asked desperately as I nodded."but why now, why tell Me now?" I asked him.

"I had to be sure that what I was dealing with was not going to hurt youin any way. and I know you may hate me for this, but I never felt ashappy as I did making that decision, because not only would your lifebe in danger, but the life growing inside of you as well." he said makingmy heart thump at his words.

"But how are you so sure that we are safe now? how are you so surethat we won't get hurt if we return to your side?" I questioned him."Like I had suspected there was something off about his power. andthere was. just a couple hours later, the boy on which he had used anexample woke up, alive and well.” he said making me sigh in relief. "but,whether within that time and now, if he’s found a way to strengthen hispower, I'm not sure, but I am sure I can protect you. so Collen, comeback to me?" he requested.

"please?" he pleaded.

"Reese, I don't know, I don't know if I can trust you." I said to him. Notthat I trusted him before.

"Colleen, Please, let me protect you. let me love you. and let me workhard for the affection, trust, and forgiveness that I had lost. please..." hepleaded yet again.

"One chance, to be the mate I've wanted, the mate I want to fall in lovewith. One chance, to prove you care and will cherish me. One chance” Isaid. A huge grin slapped his face as he pulled me to his chest but frozeas he felt my baby bump against his hard tummy.

He bent down to my tummy level, lifting my shirt up a bit. He lookedup at me for permission and I nodded, granting. He let his warm handrub my tummy gently.

"Hi baby." he whispered making laugh as my heart melted. Honestly,this is a moment I didn't think I'd get to see. "I'm your daddy, and yes Iknow, I was being a bad man to mommy, but no worries, I'll make it upto her, in the best way possible and I promise to be here with you guysforever.” he smiled. He was being silly. I ruffled his hair making himglare at me playfully.

He stood up and walked behind me, as I pulled down my shirt, his armswrapped around My waist. I finally had my mate back.

"Mon amour, Mon vie. Belle, merveilleuse, éblouissante, magnifique ettoute & moi. (my love, my life. Beautiful, amazing, stunning, gorgeousand all mine.)" He whispered in my ear. **(A/N, I'm not good at French.so I'm sorry if it's blegh)**

A shiver ran through my body as he placed a kiss on my neck. It feltbeyond, what I thought I would feel. I finally had my mate. And he wasall mine. No one else's, mine alone.

His hands rubbed my belly as he bent down continuing to kiss downmy neck. I let my eyes close, at the pleasure I felt. He soon begansucking on the place he would mark me, as I let out a loud moan.

He turned me around as his lips captured mine. It was full blownpassion, all though that's what I felt it was. He pulled me closer, butcareful not to hurt the baby. My hands moved to the soft locks of hairon his beautiful head. His hands Then began to rub my sides as theyslipped inside my shirt.

I smiled into the kiss, as I thought, would this what it would be beenlike If nothing happened? If I hadn't gotten rejected?

Feeling out of breath we pulled away from each other. Panting, might Iadd. He put his forehead on mine and looked into my eyes.

"I'm sorry I had to reject you, I'm sorry we had to go through all this.I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused. I'm sorry for all that you sufferedfor. I'm sorry for not explaining earlier, and I'm definitely sorry forputting you through all this pain.” he smiled. "if I could go back andchange what had happened between us. If I could go back to thatmoment I rejected you. I would. But know I'd do anything if meantprotecting you and our baby."

My heart skipped a beat as he said, “our baby’, it sounded... Nice. Whatwas nicer was having him here, beside me.

I shook my head and pushed him away. "We've had a long day, so Ithink 1 should hit the hay. I'm tired right now. but.. I want to spend a bitof time here. Please?" I said to him.

he looked reluctant at my request. "I don't think that's a good ideaColleen, we just ran into a rogue.” he explained making. I put on a sadface making him groan and give in.

"How long do you wish to stay?" he asked me.

"Just a week or so, just to experience, quit my job for the fun of it, andvisit some places.” I smiled giddily.

He looked at Me, * 5 days. Remember, I have a pack to run and a Lunato introduce.” he negotiated.

"Deal!"

My heart clenched happily. It was all a new feeling to me. Who knew I'dgive him a chance? The one I hate so much? Or should I say, have fallenin love with, even if he had hurt me so much? I know I must me a sadist,but you can't blame me for loving the one made for me. Right? But apart of me hasn't forgiven him fully and can't trust him fully. But what'sworse is, what happens with my father.

"what are we gonna do about my father?" I asked him as he tensed.

"I guess we'll have to deal with him on another way," he said, hiseyebrows furrowing.

"We'll get through this. there has to be a way.” I said encouraging himas he smiled.

"I hope" he whispered as he placed a kiss on my head.

my mate. he was finally mine. and I was his.
