◄DESIGNED TO DESTROY►

The ache was haunting me last night. We crossed paths once again. I saw you first, and in that moment, you turned and held my gaze this time. You walked in long strides towards me, who was frozen as ice, scratched the back of your neck when you hesitantly asked me if I could give you my spare time.

You held my hand when I missed my line, and spoke with guilty eyes reciprocating mine. It didn’t take long when I followed you to the scent of coffee and greasy stains, and never once did you let go of my hand until we sat next to each other at the corner of the shop. I took my hand back and forced the awkwardness down my throat as I stood up and ordered for the both of us.

I came back with your coffee on my right and my tea on my left, and we sat in silence after that. I could feel your heavy gaze hovering my presence even if my head was bent down and was staring incredulously at the white smoke shifting on top of my warm drink. The thought of looking at you and not cry was tearing me apart.

“You wanted to talk?”

My croaky voice broke the silence as I forced myself to give the biggest smile I had while keeping my eyes closed.

You withdrew a heavy sigh and looked at me with those sorry eyes again, and it didn’t take me long to understand what you were going to say. I didn’t need to hear the same thing twice, and so without another word, I stood up and left you before you could break my heart once again.

But, who was I kidding? Your scent was enough to kill me repeatedly…you were designed to destroy me before I would even have the chance to replace love in the other life.
