Ultimate Evolution I Became the Master of the World -
Chapter 79 Additional Conditions
"Alright, here's the deal," Susan started, "We'll buy the box you have for $100 million in cash, paid right away. But first, we need to make sure it has the ghost we need."
She slid a contract across the table. "If everything looks good, we can wrap this up now. Our accountant here will transfer the money to your account in ten minutes." Susan didn't waste any time getting down to business with Michael. Michael barely glanced at the contract before pushing it aside. "I don't care about the contract or the price. I'll sell you the item, but I have one more condition." "And what's that?" Susan asked.
"I want to know how to control a second ghost and stop ghost revival," Michael said, his eyes narrowing. "You wouldn't be throwing this kind of money around unless you knew something. I think you can help me out." Everyone in the room was stunned. They all turned to look at Michael and Susan.
"Is that even possible?" someone muttered, but you could see the hope in their eyes.
Susan frowned. "Where did you hear about that? It's not common knowledge."
"That's my business. Do you agree to my condition or not?" Michael said firmly. "If you do, we can make this deal happen."
"I only handle the cash part. I can't make that call," Susan replied.
"Then get someone who can," Michael said, his tone icy. "Don't waste my time. If I'm not happy, you won't be either."
His eyes glowed red, adding a creepy edge to his words.
Susan's face grew serious. "Got it. I'll check with my boss. Give me a moment."
She stood up and walked away with her team, pulling out her phone to make a call.
Michael just waited, not bothering to eavesdrop.
"Do you really know how to stop ghost revival?" a middle-aged guy named Tom asked, looking excited.
Michael shook his head. "Me? No. But they do. If I knew, I wouldn't be selling them a ghost."
He pointed at Susan and her team, knowing that putting pressure on them would help his case.
If they turned him down, it would crush the hopes of other Ghost Handlers, leading to who knew what kind of chaos.
"You're right. They definitely know," Tom said, his eyes filled with a mix of fear and desperation as he watched Susan on the phone.
"Sir, things are getting tricky. Michael knows something and wants the method to control a second ghost and stop ghost revival as part of the deal. Other Ghost Handlers are catching on too. If we don't close this deal today, we might not get out of here," Susan explained quickly.
She could feel the intense stares from the others, making her shiver despite the summer heat.
"Okay, I get it. Yes, I know what to do," Susan said, nodding as she listened to the person on the other end.
No one knew what was being said to her.
A moment later, she hung up and walked back.
"Sorry for the wait," Susan said, sitting down again.
Michael was casually wiping down a baton and fiddling with a special handgun. He grinned and said, "No worries. So, how'd it go?"
Susan sighed, "The method to control a second ghost is super complicated. If you mess it up, there's a ninety percent chance you'll die."
"But someone did it, right?" Michael pressed.
"Yeah, but that might've been a fluke. Not everyone gets that lucky," Susan replied.
"I get it. There's gotta be some key factor I'm missing," Michael said.
Susan continued, "Our boss is on board with your condition and the deal, but your one item isn't enough leverage."
"So, you want me to catch another ghost? If that's the case, I'll pass on the $100 million," Michael shot back.
"No, you need to handle a paranormal incident for us. Anyone who can resolve it and contain the ghost can complete the deal and get the method to control a second ghost. But remember, the success rate isn't guaranteed," Susan explained. She handed him some documents and a business card. "Here are the details. Contact me when it's done."
"That's it for today. We're outta here," Susan said, starting to stand up.
"Hold on," Michael interrupted.
"Something else?" Susan asked.
"Just a heads-up. If you're lying or there's any funny business, you're all dead. If there's anything you need to come clean about, do it now, and I'll let it slide. But once you leave, you're on the hook," Michael warned. Susan and her team looked visibly shaken.
"Don't worry, we're not hiding anything," Susan said nervously.
"Good. If you are, I'll kill your entire family," Michael said coldly. "Now I'm done."
"Then we'll be going," Susan said, practically running out with her colleagues.
"Can you track them later?" Michael asked Ethan.
"Of course," Ethan nodded.
"Good. We need to be ready," Michael said, glancing at the documents on the table.
The location was a village outside Astoria. Not much else was there.
"Are we really gonna handle this paranormal incident?" Ethan asked. "Our situation's pretty bad. We might not make it back."
"I know, and I even suspect this might be a setup by Susan's company," Michael said, looking around at the others.
"You heard Susan. If you want to survive, we need to solve this incident and contain the ghost. Who's in?" Michael asked.
"Scared?" Alex mocked. "Weren't you all tough before?"
"Hey, I'm still just an eighteen-year-old kid. Without some partners, I feel pretty insecure," Michael said. "I'll leave the documents here. I'm heading to that village in three days. Join me if you want. If not, no hard feelings." "This might be our only shot at survival. If you miss it, you're just waiting to die. And someone has already succeeded, so the method can be shared if everyone pitches in," Michael said.
He needed people to share the risk. Plus, he had a hunch this incident was something big.
Thanks to his Ghost Realm, he wasn't afraid of crowds. He could take the box from Ethan in the mall, and he could take things from others.
In other words, those who joined were working for him.
"I've said my piece. Today wasn't a waste. I'll see you in three days if you're up for it," Michael said, standing up to leave.
Ethan followed him out, leaving the club members behind.
But their focus was now on the documents on the table.
That was their shot at survival.
Would they go all out to stop ghost revival, or just wait for death?
