Unrivaled Dragon Lord -
Chapter 73: Apologize to Him!
Lennon glanced at Maxwell with his brows furrowed. Apparently, he wanted an explanation.
Greta's expressions became icy-cold. Her grandfather wanted Andreas and them to reach reconciliation, but was Andreas willing to do this?
The banquet hall was deathly still... There seemed to be an icy-cold and oppressive ambience brewing in the air, which made people present breathless.
Maxwell glanced over Andreas and then those specialists in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) who were standing behind Andreas and then twitched his mouth, asking, "Are you guys doubting the prescription?"
Lennon didn't say anything. Although Maxwell had cured his illness, comparing to those specialists in TCM, he knew nothing about Maxwell's identity. What's more, Maxwell didn't look like a doctor. Lennon remained composed. Maxwell slowly stood to his feet and burst into laughter.
"Mr. Maxwell, is this funny?" Andreas asked with a smile.
"Andreas, don't talk nonsense with him. He's just a quack doctor who likes swindling. I didn't know how he has deceived Mr. Lennon. But he can't replace any excuse for himself right now." Allison stared at Greta fiercely with her hands on her hips, "She should also be punished. She's undoubtedly his accomplice."
Allison nodded, "He is guilt-ridden now. How dare he use an ordinary prescription to fool Mr. Lennon? He really wants to die.”
"A bunch of fools!" Maxwell's voice sounded out of the blue. Although his voice was not loud, the words shocked the others and reverberated in the banquet hall.
Andreas' expressions froze. Maxwell took a sip of the wine and chuckled scornfully, "So you guys are fooled by such a small trick?"
Andreas wore cold expressions, took a step forward and shouted sternly, "Spill the beans and don't pretend to be mysterious. If you don't feel guilty, what's this for?" "I'm guilty?" Maxwell glanced at Maxwell and widened his eyes. A terrifyingly cold light flashed across his eyes. It was so thrilling that it was like the stare from a beast! Maxwell took a step forward and the aura he was exuding was quite thrilling.
The temperature in the banquet hall plummeted as Maxwell nonchalantly glanced over Andreas and those TCM specialists, his gaze as sharp as swords.
Andrea was froze on the spot and stared at Maxwell with his gaze getting colder and colder. Maxwell's unexpected reaction had surprised him as it was out of the common sense!
Both Allison and Cecilia trembled when they had clearly perceived a trace of killing intention from Maxwell's gaze.
Maxwell produced his phone and made a phone call. After a few simple sentences, he slowly put down the phone and then fixated his gaze on Andreas, "We will see what the truth is five minutes later."
"All right." How could Andreas, a prideful and arrogant person, withstand Maxwell's provocation? Therefore, he agreed without hesitation.
The clock ticked away the minutes. Greta fixed her eyes on Maxwell. Although she looked calm on the surface, anxiety and panic could still be found in her beautiful eyes.
Andreas was the second young master of the Sandoval family in the capital city. He had always been meticulous about everything and would never do something he was uncertain about. Undoubtedly, Andreas had taken the upper hand in this matter. There was nothing Maxwell could do to remove the stigma off his name no matter what excuses he would give later. Andreas was indeed in constant expectation of getting rid of Maxwell!
Yet Greta herself might not have noticed that she began to worry about Maxwell's safety unknowingly.
After being in the deadlock for a few minutes, Andreas' aunt, Allison, finally became impatient and said angrily, "Mr. Lennon, what are you waiting for? This guy is apparently stalling for time. We should just stuff him into a sack and throw him into the river to feed the turtles!"
"Noisy!" Maxwell coldly glanced over Allison and rebuked.
"Aren't you addressed as the 'magical doctor in Ocean City'?" An old doctor suddenly stood up and gazed at Maxwell coldly, "I've seen almost half of the top-class doctors and specialists in the TCM community of Ocean City, but why haven't I seen you?"
"I heard that you even don't have a medical practitioner's qualification certificate. How dare you honor yourself 'the magical doctor in Ocean City'? Who has given you the guts to do so?"
The old doctor sneered, "You tried to fool me with an ordinary prescription? You're just a quack doctor, how dare you play tricks and act arrogantly in front of me?"
"You are a dreg in the medical community!" The old doctor reprimanded him in a stern voice, which caused the changes in Lennon's expressions.
"Don't you have any idea about who is the real dreg?"
Right at this moment, a voice that carrying anger sounded from the gold-overlaid doors and the old doctor's expressions froze.
The old doctor turned around and saw an old man walking into the banquet hall with icy cold expressions.
"Who do you think you are? Do you know who I am?" The old doctor raised his head proudly and asked patronizingly.
"I don't care who you are. But who give you the rights to bully my friend?" The old man glanced around and landed his gaze on those doctors, "I heard that some specialists in TCM in Ocean City have come here. So I come to have a look."
"As for who I am?" The old man glanced over them and sneered, "I'm the chairman of the Medical Association of Ocean City!"
The banquet hall was prevailed by silence again.
The old man's words quieted down the whole scene that even the falling sound of a needle could be heard.
Greta set eyes on the old man and the shocks in her eyes were so obvious.
As the old man's identity was exposed, all the people in the banquet hall were shocked.
Andreas' expressions changed all of a sudden and his pupils shrank as he thought it was unbelievable.
Those specialists also changed their looks dramatically. They gazed at the old doctor and exclaimed, "Impossible! How could you be the chairman of the Medical Association of Ocean City? How could he come here?"
"How can you assert to be the chairman of the Medical Association of Ocean City? How can you prove it?" Andreas, who was holding a glass, finally failed to remain his composure.
The old man threw a weird glance at Andreas and asked, "Are you an idiot? Can't you go check it on the Internet?"
"You..." Andreas' expressions turned icy-cold. He stared at the old man with a trace of cold light flashing across his eyes.
The old man had no idea about Andreas' identity, so naturally didn't give a shit to this handsome young man.
But Andreas felt as if he was humiliated... After arriving in the Ocean City, he had been taunted by others again and again, and this was a kind of torture to the arrogant Andreas!
He was the second young master of the Sandoval family in the capital city, but he was humiliated by those frivolous people.
The insignificant live-in son-in-law of the Sandoval family looked down upon him... Even a lightweight chairman dared to taunt at him!
Greta trembled violently and gazed at Maxwell with a touch of complicated emotion flashing across her beautiful face. Now she finally understood why Maxwell had remained composed just now. It turned out that the chairman of the Medical Association of Ocean City was the old man who was practicing Tai Chi in the park that Maxwell mentioned before.
The old man landed his gaze on Lennon and smiled, "Mr. Lennon, how's your physical condition recently?"
Lennon nodded, "I'm getting better. It's just that Mr. Andreas doubted the prescription and said that these specialists had appraised the prescription and drew a conclusion that it was a fake one which was of no use to cure my disease."
"That's true. This prescription is obviously a fake one. The herbal medicines used in the prescription are the most normal ones. How could they help cure Mr. Lennon's incurable disease?" The old doctor shivered slightly with his face getting pale. Now that he had been involved in this matter, he would better assert his view. Nonetheless, he had never expected that the chairman of the Medical Association of Ocean City would come to today's private banquet in person.
"Bullshits! A bunch of quack doctors!" The old man blazed with rage and laughed scornfully, "Do you know what medicine is?"
"Traditional Chinese medicine is extensive and profound and is even more fine-sorted than the western medicine. All TCM treatments need normal herbal medicines..."The old man stood with his hands behind his back and the smile on his face became cold and sarcastic, "You asserted that the prescription is a fake one based on several kinds of herbal medicines... Are you guys qualified to be entitled specialists?" The specialists all shivered all over and Andreas' expressions got even gloomier.
"Mr. Lennon." The old man stood to his feet and handed the prescription to Lennon, "Let me tell you the truth. Before Mr. Maxwell had improved this prescription, it was actually an ordinary one and I was quite confused about why my father had told me that it was a prescription for incurable disease back then. Nevertheless, Mr. Maxwell suggested me that I need to add a critical adjuvant. In this way, the herbal medicines will supplement each other and play great therapeutic effect."
The old man set eyes on Maxwell and said blandly, "The adjuvant medicine is more important than the main medicine. I'd spent most of my life in refining the prescription, but I hadn't expected that Maxwell improved it in the end." The old man glanced over those specialists disdainfully, "It's true that the medicines used in the prescription are used to nurse intestines and stomach, but it doesn't mean that this prescription is for treating intestines and stomach problems... It's like the medicines that have functions to relieve uneasiness of mind and tranquilize body. Can you call these medicines as tranquilizer?" "You even don't have common sense... Are you guys qualified to be experts?"
"Enough!" Andreas interrupted the old man coldly, "I turned to these quack doctors for help. It's all my oversight. Mr. Lennon, sorry for having taken up your time."
"I should not bother you any longer. I will leave first." After finishing the words, Andreas turned around and walked to the gold-overlaid doors nonstop.
Lennon, who was sitting in the chair, just watched the scene with unfathomable eyes and hadn't said a word from the very beginning.
"Let's go," said Andreas. Allison and Cecilia shot a fierce glance at Maxwell and Greta and then hurriedly followed Andreas.
"Wait a minute." A sound rumbled right at this moment.
Andreas paused and turned around, only to see Maxwell who was leaning against the chair. Maxwell said blandly, "Mr. Andreas, after making these troubles, you still tried to leave without taking any responsibility... Tsk, tsk, awesome..."
Andreas stared at him and spoke, "Maxwell Kirk... What do you mean?"
"I didn't mean anything. It's just that you've messed up Mr. Lennon's private banquet today, yet now you want to leave without doing anything?" Maxwell curled his lips into a smile.
"I will banquet you the other day." Andreas' gaze was cold and unfathomable.
"That's not enough." Maxwell retorted it instantly.
"I will send liberal presents as my compensations to you tomorrow."
"That's still not enough." Maxwell refused without hesitation.
Andreas' gaze became cold as he clenched his fists tightly. If it was not because Lennon was present today and that he was worried that the whole Sandoval family would be implicated by this matter, how would he allow Maxwell to manipulate him?
This Maxwell was really demanding exorbitantly.
"I will give you all you want. It's that okay?" Andreas fixed his gaze on Maxwell and his gaze carried a touch of anger.
Maxwell pointed at Allison and Cecilia and said, "Kneel down and make an apology."
Allison and Cecilia's expressions changed immediately as they reprimanded him in a stern voice, "It's really a great shame to the Sandoval family to have a live-in son-in-law like you. How dare you offend your senior?"
"Let's wait and see! Greta Sandoval, have a look at your husband. He's so arrogant that he even dares to boss me around!" Cecilia, who felt ashamed before, had an even gloomier face.
"Make an apology. I don't want to say the same sentence for three times." Maxwell spoke in a stern voice with his eyes flashing across a trace of sharpness.‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒
