Chapter 300
Chapter 300 As Long As You're Happy
As soon as Alexa finished speaking, some noises were heard from downstairs.
Lindsay looked down through the window to check it out.
Then she said, "Ms. Duran, Mr. Duran and Ms. Niebergall are here."
Alexa became grim. She packed up her things and intended to leave immediately.
"Ms. Duran, Ms. Duran..."
Lindsay hurriedly chased after her, but Alexa didn't stop.
A moment later, both of them stood still.
Lindsay's gaze moved back and forth between Keyon and Alexa.
Then she respectfully said, "Mr. Duran."
Keyon looked indifferent, and his black suit added to his coldness.
"Lindsay, leave us alone."
"Yes, sir."
Lindsay hurriedly left. Alexa coldly lowered her eyes, about to leave with Lindsay.
However, Keyon suddenly grabbed her wrist.
"Let go."
Hearing her cold words, Keyon was surprised.
She has such a long face, yet she still said that she wasn't angry.
For a moment, Keyon lost all of his anger. His eyes were filled with helplessness and indulgence.
"Come with me."
"I don't want to."
Alexa shifted her gaze away, not even bothering to say another word.
"Won't your wife be angry?"
Hearing Alexa mention "your wife", Keyon was helpless.
"Alexa..."
"Anyway, it doesn't matter." Alexa suddenly realized something. "I don't care that much."
Alexa deliberately emphasized the three words "it doesn't matter."
Keyon was helpless at Alexa's words.
"Alexa, I just need five minutes to talk to you."
Her eyelashes fluttered, and she caught a glimpse of Keyon's serious expression from the corner of her eyes.
Alexa had softened her heart, but she still raised her hand and looked at her watch seriously.
"Alright, five minutes."
"Come here."
Then Keyon pulled her to the study.
This was the place they used to come to play.
After entering the room, Alexa instinctively sat on the chair she liked the most.
Keyon turned on the heater, and the cold and damp room quickly warmed up.
"What do you want to drink? I'll get someone to bring it up."
"I'm not in the mood."
Keyon sighed softly and sat down opposite her.
"Alexa, I know you're mad at me. I shouldn't have taken Giselle home."
"There's nothing wrong."
"She has always been arrogant and willful. I know."
Keyon's tone was very gentle, but Alexa felt bitter.
He knew. He knew it all.
"So you can tolerate anything she does, right?"
"Alexa, it's all my fault," Keyon said with his heart broken. "But the other forces in the family are watching us. I can not let you take the risk again."
"What..."
"I've always known that you don't like Kieran. The reason you're getting close to him is all your act, right?"
"Yes."
Alexa's reply was crystal clear.
"This is enough.'
She unexpectedly met Keyon's gaze. His dark brown eyes were so calm.
"You only need to love what you love. Leave the rest to me."
"Keyon..."
"Business marriage is just what I need right now. I have to do this."
After Keyon finished speaking, he curved up his lips into a faint smile.
"Alexa, I don't love anybody, so it doesn't matter to me who I marry."
Keyon looked at his younger sister standing in front of him. He thought of that summer many years ago, when they were playing happily.
Alexa was his only sister. As long as she was happy, he would have no regrets to marry a woman he didn't love.
"Keyon, I don't want you to sacrifice your own happiness to help me. Is the so-called business really that important?"
"I have to become stronger so that I can protect the people I care about."
Keyon's slender fingers gently held the teacup. He sat in the quiet winter sun, and his cold face softened a bit.
"I'll be happy if you are."
After that, someone knocked on the door lightly.
"Mr. Duran, Ms. Duran, lunch is ready."
"Okay," Keyon responded.
He then looked at Alexa with a smile.
"You've been busy all morning. Are you hungry?"
Alexa came back to her senses and looked a little absent-minded.
"Keyon."
"Huh?"
"Have you ever had a time when you couldn't bear it? I mean..."
"No."
She hadn't finished her sentence when she heard Keyon's firm reply.
"Why are you so sure?"
"Because I know why I did all this."
Keyon pinched her shoulder comfortingly. His eyes were gentle and sharp. "After everything's done, I'll let you go back to Vision Group." "The Niebergall family is not so easy to handle," Alexa warned her brother with concern. She had been investigating the Niebergall family these days. Their background was not clean, and there were many shady deals involved.
Terrence reminded her many times to stay away from this family.
"Don't worry." Keyon blinked at her. "You just have to believe me. I won't let you get hurt."
Hearing her brother's words, Alexa had no choice but to follow him to the dining room.
She didn't expect that Irvin would be there.
When Irvin saw them, he instantly put on a fake smile and fixed his mischievous eyes on Alexa.
"Ms. Duran, glad to see you again."
"Mr. Niebergall, what a coincidence." Alexa smiled slightly. She was not frightened at all.
On the side, Giselle couldn't wait to grab Keyon's arm.
"What took you so long?"
She muttered in dissatisfaction and even glanced at Alexa with hostility.
Keyon stopped the topic at the right time.
He replied with a grim face, "Something important."
"Oh."
Giselle responded doubtfully.
The servants hurriedly served the exquisite dishes up, but Alexa did not have any appetite at all.
"Ms. Duran, looking at the food can fill your stomach?"
Hearing Irvin's teasing, Alexa looked at him with a straight face.
"Mr. Niebergall, you can mind your own business."
At this time, Keyon placed a bowl of gravy in front of Alexa.
"Drink it while it's hot. It can warm up your body." Giselle noticed Keyon's actions and instantly smashed the spoon down with a cold face.
"Keyon, I don't want to drink this. The baby wants something sour," Giselle said softly, pressing her chest.
Alexa was shocked at Giselle's words and then became calm quietly.
"You want something sour? That's a good thing," Irvin teased her. "Ms. Duran should know what it means, right?"
While Giselle looked expectantly at her, Alexa remained calm.
"Lindsay." Keyon interrupted Giselle, "Get Ms. Niebergall a bowl of sour soup."
"Keyon, people say that if a baby wants sour food, it must be a boy."
Giselle hinted at Keyon, a trace of pride flashing through her eyes. Alexa must be so mad right now.
