Then, turning defensive, he challenged Matthew, “Are you accusing me? Stella and Bella are my family! How could I ever harm them? They’re gone, and you’re here picking fights? Why are you always against me?”
Matthew wasn’t taken aback by Kristian’s denial.
He stated, “On the evening before Stella and Bella departed, I came across Phil Sampson.
”
Kristian’s expression remained impassive, yet internally, he was in turmoil.
After all, it was Phil whom he had tasked with securing the private plane, all orchestrated discreetly.
How had Matthew uncovered this?
Kristian’s hands were clammy; he forced himself to maintain composure.
Matthew’s tone was icy as he demanded, “Hearing your name from him caught me off guard.
What do you have to say for yourself?”
The memory of that chilling encounter still lingered with Matthew.
Had he not been vigilant, Stella could have faced grave peril.
Kristian was ruthless, and Matthew was determined not to let him off the hook.
Facing a speechless Kristian, Matthew pressed on, “Out with it, will you? Here, let me spell it out for you.
You orchestrated a sabotage on the private plane, aiming to eliminate Stella and Bella.
Your goal? To ascend as the primary heir to Bella’s fortune and carve out a reputation for yourself.
”
Matthew’s gaze pierced through Kristian, stripping away any facade of innocence.
ALL of Kristian’s covert maneuvers, which he believed were executed perfectly, were now exposed.
Gasping for breath, Kristian continued to feign ignorance.
“I… I have no idea what you’re implying.
This is absurd.
You’re just trying to frame me!”
Matthew held his silence.
His attorney, adjusting his spectacles, intervened.
“Kristian, Mr.
Clark is suing you for attempted murder.
We suggest you prepare to defend yourself in court if you wish to dispute these charges.
”
The lawyer’s remarks left Kristian’s pride thoroughly bruised.
This indicated that Matthew had irrefutable evidence.
In a state of shock, Kristian scrambled for words, and then realized something was amiss.
“Attempted murder? What are you implying?” Kristian managed to sputter out.
Hadn’t Stella and Bella perished?
Kristian harbored a daring suspicion.
Just then, Bella entered, leaning on Stella for support, confirming Kristian’s theory.
He instinctively stepped back, pointing at them with disbelief.
Stella and Bella, alive? How was that possible?
Upon seeing them, Elizabeth snapped out of her trance and flew into a rage.
