Who Is My Husband -
Scene 74
Through a cloud of black smoke, a darker creature emerged. It looked like it was dipped in black tar, with white eyes and white dripping fangs. Its gaze was fixated on Kailee as it climbed out of the fissure. It bared its fangs at her and let out a low growl.
“Please stay back…” Kailee looked at the phoenix next to her. “And thank you for watching over me all of these years.” She smiled at him and took a few steps towards Bane confidently. “You have been lost in darkness long enough. It is time to make everything right.”

The strong scent of iron hung in the air as the dragons battled against various creatures. Demons, ogres, and warlocks had all joined in on the attack. The elves and werewolves were fighting fiercely alongside the dragons but there were just too many of them. There was a mighty army of darkness prepared to confront them. As Trey fought he could feel the evil aura behind them as Bane made his appearance.
Grum was suddenly slammed into the ground as a two-headed ogre punched him out of nowhere. His dragon slid over the earth making the ground tremble from the vibrations. Bethany’s silver dragon shot straight into the ogre as she let out a loud roar. She snapped her teeth viciously at the creature and tore at his flesh sending his red liquid over the ground.
Grum quickly got back up and lunged into the formidable creature as well. The two of them together attacked in sync as they savagely disemboweled the ogre sending its lifeless body to the ground. They looked each other over briefly before they waded through the creature entrails to attack another monster of darkness.
Trey turned his head to check on Reggie and Sorsha but then out of the corner of his eyes watched as a lightning bolt came flying towards him. A bright blue light shone in front of him blocking the energy. He had to wince from the brightness of it as the lightning dispersed into the blue barrier. Then he looked down to see four familiar little men standing in front of him.
“See what happens when you are all brawn and no brain?” Pyro smiled and looked back at Trey.
“I think it is time for you to use that brain of yours…” Dio said and watched as another attack was forming from the warlock. “And quickly… we can’t block that again.”
“Feel the power that is deep inside of you. It should be screaming at you to unleash it. Don’t hesitate and release it.” Grant said as he stared at the black dragon.
“You can do it! But we need to get out of here. Battles are not a place for us gnomes.” Koma said as he swallowed watching the b***d splatter around them.
The four little men vanished in front of Trey. He didn’t understand them at first until a buzzing noise started inside of him. And from the sound, he felt energy spiral inside of him. It was something he didn’t recognize before… or something he always ignored. But now he finally accepted it. He felt a strange burn in his throat. It was a different type of heat than he was used to when he breathed fire.
As another bolt came hurling towards him he went to meet it with his fire, but an orange glow never came out. Instead, bright white flashes of light came out of his throat and smashed with the bolt in the air. The white light surged out of him and tore through the enemy’s lightning. It then continued to forcefully attack and swelled over the warlock.
“What was that?” Lance asked as he moved closer to Trey. He watched as the white energy disintegrated the warlock as it dispersed.
“It is a gift from Kailee when she marked me.” Trey turned to answer Lance just as a long spear was launched. He tried to dodge but the spear grazed over his side drawing crimson liquid to the surface.
Trey roared loudly and as if on cue dozens of goblins popped into the area. They began lending their strength to the dragons as well.
Lance turned his head and noticed a familiar goblin in the front leading the charge. It was Hawkins. The goblin who had tried to impersonate Trey the first time they met him.
Hawkins turned his head to look at the dragons. “We have to finish this quickly. Our lady needs our help.” His eyes glanced worriedly behind them.
Trey and Lance turned their head to see the sky growing black behind them. Black ominous clouds were circling a small white light. They could see the white light flickering against the darkness as it tried to hold it off. Trey shifted uncomfortably wanting to go to her. He growled loudly and turned his head back towards the battle.
“What the hell is that?” Reggie asked as he stood in front of Sorsha protectively.
A creature with yellow eyes slithered its way towards them. It was the size of three dragons and it raised its head challenging them. It bared its bright white fangs and let out a low growl.
“I thought those were extinct.” Sorsha said in a whisper.
Grum growled and walked towards the creature as Bethany joined him at his side. “Finally a challenge.”
Lance looked over at him like he was crazy. “That thing is more than a challenge Grum.”
“Damnit… I need to get to Kailee.” Trey growled as he eyed the black serpent creature. It was an ancient creature that hadn’t been seen in so long they were thought to be extinct. It was a behemoth basilisk a creature that resembled a dragon with no legs or wings. Like an overgrown snake with a dragon like head. Only the difference was that the behemoth breed of basilisks was three times larger and more aggressive. They were known to be pets for the lords of hell. And now one was facing off against them.
The battle against the demons and warlocks was pursuing around them but now the dragon’s focus was being pulled away. It would be a group effort in order to bring this monster down.
“If you have any more fancy tricks now is the time to use it Trey.” Lance moved protectively closer to his prince. He watched as the basilisk bared its fangs as they dripped with wet saliva. It hissed at them angrily then with lightning speed lunged into the dragons.

It was cold. It was dark. Kailee felt the energy as the creature closed in on her. The smoke-like tentacles of the creature reached out and around her. They felt unfeeling and malevolent as they spread over her. Her body glowed white slightly just to keep the darkness at bay as she studied Bane. She was searching inside of him. She was looking for any sign of her grandmother’s light. She might have been in darkness for a long time, but her light should still be there. But no matter how much she searched she couldn’t replace it.
Bane snarled at her as he moved closer. His teeth curled up in a smile as its large claws of darkness swooped around her. She was completely enveloped in its darkness. She could feel herself being sealed into a dark cocoon. The light wasn’t shining anymore and all she could see was black. The walls were cold and sticky as the tar-like liquid oozed around her. She stuck her fingers into the substance and began to search for her grandmother’s energy.
In her mind she could see a small flicker, so she dove in deeper. She moved into the substance until she found a small light that was being guarded by a glowing barrier. She had found her.
“Corra. Corra… can you hear me?” Kailee asked and noticed how the light flickered brighter in response.
“What have you done child?” A sweet gentle voice called out.
“I’m here to save you. I’m going to save my grandmother and my grandfather.” Kailee said confidently.
“How are you going to now that you are also trapped in this darkness?” The barrier then grew around Kailee and a woman with golden hair in her late thirties stood before Kailee.
“We can escape together.” Kailee said and reached her hand out to her grandmother. The moment their hands touched a bright light shone illuminating the darkness but never piercing through it. The light shined bright, and Kailee felt her body begin to tremble, but it was no use. The blackness that surrounded them wasn’t breaking open.
Corra looked at Kailee sadly. “I’ve tried to escape this darkness. But the forest spirit is a strong existence. Purifying his heart was something I haven’t been able to do. I thought over the years I would finally be able to bring him back to his normal self. But the darkness has a firm hold on him. I’m so sorry you have been dragged into this as well.”
Kailee bit her bottom l*p and squeezed her hands into fists. Trey was waiting for her. Her family was waiting for her. This couldn’t be it right? She couldn’t be stuck inside of this dark bubble for eternity. Her eyes lifted up to her grandmother who had wet liquid dripping from her eyes. Kailee closed her eyes and shook her head. Trey…

Lance laid on the ground injured as b***d pooled around him. He had leapt in front of Trey taking the hit from the basilisk’s tail and was pierced by the spike on its tip. Grum and Reggie dove into the monster as Bethany and Sorsha dragged Lance farther away from the battle so that his body didn’t get caught in the aftermath.
Trey roared ferociously and shot his white energy out at the basilisk. A red wound appeared where his attack hit on the creature’s body. The basilisk reacted by striking his body forward and lunging towards Trey. Reggie and Grum took this opportunity to land attacks of their own making more red liquid splash out from the monster.
Trey…
Trey heard the voice of his mate in his head and something inside of him snapped. He sent out another white ball of energy from his throat only this time it continued to expand from him as he pushed more and more of himself into it. The white energy completely engulfed the monster and even spread out over some of the demons. It became so bright that everyone turned their heads or shielded their eyes from its brilliance. As the light faded all that it had engulfed had vanished.
Trey limped over to Lance to check to see if he was alright. He watched the green dragon turn his head over to look at him.
“So you did have more surprises buried inside of you after all.” Lance said and laid his head back down. “I’ll live Trey. Don’t worry about me and go to her.”
Trey nodded his head after seeing the wounds were not life threatening. He looked up at Sorsha and Bethany, “Look after him.” He then turned his head to look at Grum and Reggie. “You guys can finish things up here right?”
“Go on and go you have hogged enough of the battle.” Grum said and flipped his tail on the ground.
“It’s our turn for some bloodshed now.” Reggie growled and nodded his head towards Kailee’s direction. “Go to her.”
“Thank you…” Trey said and lifted himself into the air flying over towards the darkness. As he got closer he could not see any sign of Kailee. He noticed the phoenix flapping in front of Bane and he lowered next to him.
“Where is Kailee?” Trey asked urgently.
It swallowed her up…
Trey snapped his head up to Bane who was still holding his place. All he could see was darkness. He couldn’t see Kailee’s light, but he could feel it. Somewhere inside of this creature was his mate.
