You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 82
The box.
The warm yellow lights made the atmosphere even darker.
The colleagues of the project team took turns singing songs, and theywere so engrossed that they seemed to forget everything around them.Occasionally, a waiter would bring an exquisite fruit plate with all kindsof rare and expensive fruit cuts. It was just Club Haven!
Riveria Haze was a formal venue for high-end parties, while ClubHaven, part of the same group, was a private venue for high classgatherings.
The last time the Heath family hosted a dinner here at Riveria Haze,Charlotte made her debut in high society and before the public.
Now Luther was throwing a celebration for Joyce at Club Haven, whichwas quite a big deal.
Charlotte's heart was frenzied with jealousy. The first sign that a manwas in love with a woman was his willingness to throw his money awayfor her. She didn't have time to wait, and if she waited any longer,Luther would fall for this woman without realizing it.
After seeing Lauren leave, Joyce approached Charlotte as if she hadsomething to say.
Charlotte moved to the side to give Joyce a place beside her.
She gently patted the seat beside her and gave Joyce a soft smile, "Sitdown."
This was just Charlotte. She was extremely good at disguise. She couldchange her face in a second and would do anything to achieve hergoal. She has a high enough EQ to endure it all.
Joyce sat down and said directly, “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that. Ithink you should have heard Shelly mention that Luther and I wereactually only married under false pretenses, and it was to makeGrandma happy in the beginning, and the matter would have beenresolved soon. I didn't expect it to be exposed, and now I'm in adilemma. I'm really sorry."
Charlotte affectionately took Joyce's hand and placed it on her lap.She looked at Joyce with "sincerity" in her eyes, “I'm glad you said thatto me. I know how difficult it is for you, don't worry, I don't mind. I canalso wait."
"Hmm." Joyce nodded, although Charlotte showed her generosity andacted close to her.
But for some reason, she always felt that she couldn't understand whatwas on her mind.
Even if Charlotte always looked so kind, she felt it difficult to reallyapproach her.
That's why, although they grew up together in the orphanage, theywere never really close.
It always seemed like there was something separating them.
Right now, there was a hint of awkwardness between the two.
Joyce breathed a sigh of relief, “It's good that you trust me. I will replace away to settle this as soon as possible.” She glanced at Charlotte's still-flat belly, "You have to be able to wear the wedding dress. It's a lot ofwork for you."
Charlotte smiled gently, "We have grown up together. Of course I knowyou."
She stood up, turned her back, took two glasses from the bar behindher and poured herself a glass of orange juice and a glass ofwatermelon juice for Joyce.
Her sleeve gently shook, before the pill stolen from Lauren fell into thewatermelon juice and instantly disappeared into the watermelon juice. Then Charlotte turned around, sat back down, and handed Joyce thewatermelon juice.
And she held the orange juice for her own.
"I see you don't seem to drink all night, I get you watermelon juice."Charlotte laughed, "I remember in the orphanage, every summer, youjust loved watermelon. You always asked Rachel for more and sharewith."
Joyce was dumbfounded. She took the watermelon juice. Yes,childhood, how good it was!
She did not expect Charlotte to even remember her past preferences.
