A Bride for a Merger -
Chapter 33
***Allison Diamond's POV
***
I had a very well spent day. After being out of the house for most of the day, I had finally came home in the late hours of the evening. I had went to work with Tori earlier, just like she had done when she had came to visit me back in New York. I honestly did not even have that plan in my mind to go to work with her or anything. But after Christopher had call me and I hung up on him, I just did not feel like staying home alone. Sure, I had Pluto as my company but I still needed to get out of the house. I felt as if I needed a human company. I needed someone to talk to and someone who would respond to me. Someone who could help to give me advise-- whether or not I would actually take it-- or just someone who would even help me to take my mind off of all the issues that I had.
I knew that if I had stayed home for the entire day, that I would have probably been feeling really depressed all day. I would feel three times worst and in addition to that, then my mind would have started thinking all sort of thoughts and would have kept wondering to thoughts that I did not feel like entertaining at the moment. Staying home alone after everything, would mean that I would be stuck in my own mind along with my own thoughts.
I was home alone however after returning home. My Dad had call me earlier and told me that he would be home a bit later in the night so I should not wait up for him. I went into the kitchen to heat up some leftover food that I had in the fridge. I also called Pluto so that I could feed him and gave him some water.
After I had finished eating, I headed to the living room and sat on the couch before lifting Pluto into my lap and turning on the television. I turned the television on to a random channel which had a random cooking show being aired. I was not quite sure what the show was all about exactly, since I was not quite familiar with it. However, based on what I saw in the short time, the show seemed as if it was a type of cooking show which had different people being in some sort of competition.
I glanced at it briefly for a few minutes before I begun petting Pluto. I ran my hand from his head down to his littleback, and repeat the motion. As I did this, I started talking to him as if he could understand my current dilemma and contribute to the conversation some way. The poor thing just laid there happily and peeking up a few times when I mentioned certain things. it was as if he knew exactly what I was talking about.
As I watched how attentive Pluto was, I felt bad for all the time I had spent away from him. The poor thing must have been feeling ignored and abandoned most of the times. I mean, back in New York I had to leave him alone at home most of the times in the day whenever I left for work. And then, the only other time that I had to spend with him, was in the evenings when I got home from work and on weekends when I was free. So he was basically home alone all day long and that made me feel guilty. I wished that it did not have to be like that.
I must have fallen asleep on the couch for quite sometime. I wasn't sure or know how long I had been out. I had fallen asleep with the television still on. I was awoken by the sounds of the doorbell going off which frightened me and caused me to jump up from my sleeping position on the couch. As I got up groggily, I could not help but wondered who the hell could that be at the door at that late hours of the night. Normally before any one came over, they would have called before or something. In addition to that, there was no one that I know that would really came to visit me at that hours. The time on my phone even showed that it was way after nine pm.
I knew that Dad was still not home as yet because he had told me that he would be coming home late. Also, I knew that if he had been home, he would have woken me up so that I could go up to my bedroom instead of sleeping downstairs in the living room. Dad would not be ringing the doorbell either. The only other person that I could think of that would visit me, would have probably been Tori, but Tori would not be visiting that late and ringing the doorbell either. And neither would any of my other family members. I decided to ignore the doorbell, and sit down silently hoping that whoever it was, would just go away eventually.
However, the doorbell continued ringing and Pluto had started barking. I was a bit concerned and curioused. Not only that, but I was getting a little paranoid too, so I finally up. I stood from the couch before looking around and grabbing the nearest thing that I could replace-- just in case I needed it as a form of weapon. The nearest and the first thing so happened to be a lamp. I held it firmly in my hand as I walked towards the door cautiously. I slowly looked through the peephole on the door and I was shocked at who I saw standing on the other side of the door.
I backed away from the door not really sure of what I should do next. I could always just ignore him and left him out there in the cold or I could just let him in then smack him with the lamp that I had in my hand. I could samck him a couple times for what he had done to me. I was brought out of my violent thoughts as the doorbell rang again, this time frightening me again.
Sighing and taking a deep breath, I eventually opened the door.
"Allison!" Christopher said barging in as if to hug me but I backed away.
"What are you doing here!?" I yelled lowering the lamp that was still in my hand. "I could have almost killed you!"
"I'm sure you wouldn't do that, would you?" Christopher said closing the door behind him then looking at me with surprise. "Your hair... wow, you cut it?"
"Yeah, isn't it obvious? I did." I said to him. "Now what are you doing here Christopher?"
"I came here to see you Allison. You would not answer anymore of my calls or my texts, and when you did, you did not even allowed me to explain myself to you. You just got upset once more and hung up the phone on me." Christopher said in a sad and hurt voice. "I knew that I needed to do this face to face. It was the only way I know I could get to you."
"Christopher, we don't have anything to talk about anymore." I said before walking off to the living room. "I saw you with Kimberly. And I know that you two are still messing around. I saw it all, so why don't you just go back to her and leave me alone. I am truly sick and tired of your excuses and you lying to me and taking me for a fool. I don't want to do that anymore, I cannot do that anymore, I can no longer be the fool."
"Allison, please just listen to me. I have never lied to you and I never betrayed or hurt you. That is why I am here now. I just need to get this out of the way." Christopher replied. "I know that things got so screwed up but I am here now. I am here to tell you the truth about everything. I just need you to hear me out for about five minutes the least. Please, could you allow me that?"
"You want me to allow you five minutes where you will make up all the lies and excuses to tell me? What are you going to tell me this time Christopher? That what you did, it was a mistake? That you did not mean it or that you are sorry?" I asked him frustratedly. "Can't you see Christopher, this isn't going to work out. I just need you to stop playing games with me and just leave me alone."
"I am really sorry but I can't do that Allison." Christopher said before gently grabbing my arms stopping me from walking away once again. "I can't do that because I am so in love with you."
"What?" I asked shocked looking into his eyes to see if he was lying again.
"I know that you do not believe me Alli, but it is the truth. I love you so much Allison." Christopher confessed to me while looking into my eyes. "Christopher, do you expect me to believe that after I saw you making out with Kimberly!?" I asked incredulously.
How could he make a false proclamation like this?
"Allison, I did not make out with Kimberly!" Christopher said upset. "She came on to me that night at the party. After I saw how you got upset and locked yourself into the bathroom after seeing Kimberly, I went to replace her so that I could sort this whole misunderstanding out. I was hoping to talk to her to let her tell you that there isn't anything going on between us. I thought if you heard it from her you would believe her more since you did not believed me. I went upstairs and saw her coming from the balcony. I started telling her that we needed to talk and that is how we ended up in my old room talking. I tried telling her that she and I didn't have anything going on and that I was serious about you. I thought that she would understand and I suggested that if she could talk to you and tell her side of the story, that we could sort this whole thing out."

"That was when I discovered that Kimberly really is not a nice and innocent person like she pretend. I was stupid to believe she was. Kimberly was upset about me having feelings and being serious about you. She thought that one day she and I would magically get together and kept asking what happened to she and I. I told her that I wanted you and that I didn't feel anything for her and that was when she came onto me, kissing me. I pushed her away immediately and told her off. I instantly let her know her place and that she and I would never be together before throwing her out of the party. I was so upset when she told me what she said to you at the business event that night when you drove off leaving me." "Allison, I am so so sorry for everything that has happened I am sorry for being a complete amd total jerk towards you from the first time we had met. And I am sorry for letting you down too many times. I really did not mean for any of those things to happen. Allison, I love you and I need you in my life. I need a chance with you, a chance to prove to you that I am not such a bad person like you think. I just need you to believe me because I am really serious about you Allison. I would not be here now if I was not. I am here right now, begging you for another chance because I really love you Allison Diamond."
I did not know what to say as I looked at Christopher with complete shock. I was completely speechless and emotional at the moment. It was the very first time I had ever seen him expressed himself this much. It was the first time that he had ever told me how he felt.
As I looked into his eyes, I could tell that he was being honest and genuine this time. There was just so much emotions visible in them -- emotions that I had never seen in Christopher ever before.
I wanted to do nothing but forgive him right then but I just did not want to do it all at once and too soon. Him coming all the way to Chicago after I had ran away from New York, did prove a point to me. He could have stayed in New York and not care that I left him. He could have been happy and rejoicing that I was finally gone from his life but instead, he came after me.
"Christopher, I really don't know what to say." I said to him unsure of what else to say to him.
"Please, just say yes to giving me another chance." Christopher said holding my hands in his. "Please, just one more chance that is all that I am asking for. If I mess up again then you can just finally walk out on me, but I need one last chance. Just this once Allison, please."
Looking at him intently I sighed. I was not sure of the decision to make.
"I am going to need to think about it Christopher." I sighed looking at him.
"Oh, okay then." Christopher said with disappointmental in his voice. "It is okay, I guess I should probably go now then
"Yeah, maybe you should. "I nodded.
"Bye Allison." Christopher said walking away back to the front door.
"Bye Christopher." I said closing the door then closing my eyes as I rested my back on the door.
Thinking about everything that Christopher had said, what Dad, Tori and Bryan had said to me, I finally made a decision. I too was very aware of my feelings towards Christopher as well.
Opening the door quickly, I called out to Christopher which caused him to stop before he could go back to his car. "Chris! Please wait!"
Christopher stopped walking and turned around expectantly. I went outside, walked over to him and stood right in front of him.
"I think that sometimes in making certain decision, it is one of the hardest things to do, but I am giving you one last chance. This one chance is to prove to me that you're really not a jerk, that I can trust you and that you really care about me." I said to him.
"Thank you. Thank you so much Allison. I promise you that I won't let you down again." Christopher smiled happily before pulling me into a hug. "You won't regret it, I won't disappoint you again."
I threw my arms around him as well before resting my head on his shoulder. It felt absolutely amazing being in his arms. After a while, Christopher pulled away before looking directly into my eyes with so much love and emotions.
"I know that you don't really believe me Allison, but I do love you." Christopher said to me.
"I love you too Christopher. " I whispered.
Christopher smile ecstatically before pulling me back to him and planting his lips on mine.
Christopher and I had a rough patch and even though we needed to try harder, I think that the only way to replace out if there is a happy ending to any story or relationship is to start the story in the first place. The beginning may be rocky but if you pushed through and all goes well, then the ending can be extremely sweet and smooth.
I had discovered that I did love Christopher and Christopher loved me too. That mutual love was all that we both needed to know. It was all we needed.
