A Dish Best Served Cold (The Man In Rage)
Chapter 694 A Petrified Ye Yu-Yan

"But that's what I'm most worried about. There's nothing wrong with being stubborn, but you must have what it takes first. Otherwise, it just becomes audacity and complacence. Fan's biggest weakness is this. Xi-Mei, when you get back, talk to Fan. Tell him that it's better to live honestly and be pragmatic, don't be too idealistic."

"Whether one can succeed in life depends on one's destiny, so there's no point in forcing it. Sometimes, it's not a bad thing to be resigned to one's fate. As for the future, don't worry, once Fan's cousins become successful, they'll help him. If it really doesn't work out, Fan can till the land that we own. He won't go hungry."

As the saying goes, people often said kind things at their deathbed.

Ye Guang-Kun already had one foot in the coffin, so he wasn't saying these things to insult Ye Fan.

He was truly concerned and worried about his grandson.

Ye Guang-Kun had lived a pretty good life.

He had painstakingly brought his four children up and besides Ye Xi-Mei's rebellion back then, his three other children made him feel proud.

Back then, he had opposed to Ye Xi-Mei's relationship with Ye Fan's father, but he didn't stop his eldest daughter in the end.

He had been so angry that he told Ye Xi-Mei that he would disown her in a fit of anger.

But how could this relationship be broken just like that?

When Ye Xi-Mei came back with Ye Fan ten years later, the old man let go of all the fury and resentment he had in his heart. He just said, "You're back?"

And then he took the two of them in.

But now that all his grandchildren had grown up, the one he was most worried about was still the son of his eldest daughter.

Even though Ye Xi-Mei knew that her father meant well, she couldn't help feeling a pain and sourness in her heart when she heard how others thought so badly of her son. Was her son really so useless?

Did her son really have to live the rest of his life as a farmer?

Ye Xi-Mei quietly lowered her head, but she clenched her fists in her sleeves, and her nails were about to dig into her own skin.

At this time, Old Master Ye looked at Ye Yu-Yan and said, "Yu-Yan, blood is thicker than water after all, so Grandpa hopes that you can still help out Fan whenever you can."

"Among all the grandchildren, you have achieved the most and all your other cousins listen to you. You know that Fan doesn't have a father, so if you don't help him, then I'm afraid life will really be difficult for him," Old Master Ye tried to persuade her in a slow voice.

Ye Yu-Yan's expression remained cold as she replied flatly, "Grandpa, I don't mind helping him. But first, he has to be worth helping. Heaven helps those who help themselves. If he's like useless mud that can't stick to a wall, then there's nothing I can do."

"Exactly. Our Yu-Yan is going to become a general who leads thousands of soldiers in the future. So not everybody is qualified to get her help," Ye Ya chimed in.

BAM!

Just at this moment.

There was a loud blast.

The shut door of the house had been slammed open from the outside.

A bloodied figure came flying in as everyone watched on in fear and shock.

The figure knocked into Ye Ya, then crashed hard onto the dining table.

All the dishes on the table clattered to the floor and broke from the impact. "Oh my god!"

"What's happened?!"

Just when all of them were still reeling from the shock.

Swoosh swoosh swoosh!

Another three figures came flying from outside the door.

They crashed through the windows and flew right into the dining hall like a bunch of lifeless dogs.

Along the way, they knocked into many chairs, sent the dishes on the table flying, and the boiling soup of the steamboat splashed everywhere.

Ye Ya got scalded and started howling like a dog from the pain!

They finally crashed into the wall and the destruction stopped.

"This...what on earth..."

After everything calmed down, Ye Yu-Yan looked at the four men in front of her and her eyes widened.

"Eggplant!"

"Jun-Hui!"

"Wu-Yang!"

Ye Yu-Yan was petrified.

Her eyes were about to fall out of their sockets and her face was completely pale.

There was none of the authoritativeness and iciness she displayed earlier.

She was only filled with terror and fear now.

She could hardly believe it. These four men who were covered in blood and had knocked out from their injuries were actually her closest comrades, the members of Dragon Hunting Special Troop. But how was this possible?

Dragon Hunting Special Troop was made up of the best from the military and had gone through thousands of special drills and training.

Never mind the small town of Yeyang -even if you searched all of Jingzhou, it would be hard to replace anyone who could possibly injure these four men.

Not even Ye Yu-Yan could do that.

Who was it?

Who on earth did this?

In terror, Ye Yu-Yan left her severely injured and unconscious comrades aside for the time being and dashed out of the house.

But besides ordinary pedestrians walking up and down the street outside, nothing looked out of the ordinary.

In the end, Ye Yu-Yan came back into the house with her heart still filled with terror.

"Yu... Yu-Yan, what's...what's going on? What's happened? Who are these people?" asked Ye Tian in a trembling voice as he shuddered in fright.

Ye Yu-Yan was also feeling fearful as she quietly replied, "Dad, these are the fellow soldiers that I invited for dinner."

After Ye Yu-Yan replied her father with a pale face, she went to check on her friends.

They were all still alive, but they had all been severely injured, especially the one closest to her, Jin Jun-Hui. One leg had been broken, a few ribs had been fractured, and he was still bleeding. He was very badly injured and barely breathing.

"Jun-Hui, hang in there! Hang in there! I'll send you guys to the hospital right now."

Ye Yu-Yan had never come across such a situation before and her eyes were reddened from fear.

She teared up as she called her teacher.

Then she quickly sent the four of them to the hospital.

After Ye Yu-Yan and the four men left, everyone left in the house was still shaken by what just happened.

A nice dinner was now left with nothing but chaos.

The floor was covered with shattered cutlery and food.

"My goodness. What just happened? Dad, do you think we've offended someone?" The sudden turn of events left a deep impact on a middle aged man like Ye Tian.

He was both terrified and afraid at the same time.

After all, everything was going well when suddenly so many injured men came flying into the house.

It looked like a bloodied warning to the Ye family, so it was only natural for Ye Tian to

feel terrified.

But while all of them were still confused and terrified in Ye Tian's house, the culprit, Ye Fan, had already returned to his mother's place. He was tidying up the room with Lu Wen-Jing.

"Teehee! Fan! You were so cool! That was amazing! You're even more amazing that those people on TV! There were so many of them, but you just sent them flying with one kick!" Lu Wen-Jing's eyes sparkled brightly and she totally idolized Ye Fan now.
