Last school bell rang just now and I am stuffing my things in my bag.Aaron and I walked out the door together. Natalie and Oliver werestanding in the parking, talking to each other. Alex and Elena weretalking near Elena’s car. Aaron's, Elena's and the Knight's cars weremagically parked next to each other. As we reached near them, theyturned their heads towards us and waved at us. Aaron gave them anawkward smile and I waved back while walking towards Aaron's car.Maybe Aaron wasn't much comfortable around them. I should haveasked him about it beforehand but I can't do anything about it now. It'stoo late for that. Ryder was so quiet all day, I would have forgotten hewas even there, if he wasn't so freaking huge. God bless me when Ireach home. He is waiting for me at the back of the school were weusually meet, but this time for a different reason. Aaron gave me a tighthug and left in his car.

"Are you free this Saturday evening?" Natalie asked walking towardsme.

What is with the vampires asking me if I am free or not? I am so, let'ssee what she wants. They are really nice people, if they really count aspeople. As I am still a part of their cuisine, I got to be careful.

"Yeah. Why did you ask?" I replied.

"Well Grace and William invited you and Elena for dinner. I know thissounds weird but they really wanted to meet you two properly. Elenaalready knows about us. Alex told her. They are dating now." shemuttered something under her breath "You also left in a haste that day.We don't blame you or anything. We can understand. You must bereally sacred.” Not scared of you. Okay maybe a little. “They just wantsto be more familiar with their new family members. So are youcoming?” She asked expectantly.

Girl you have no idea who I am. But I can't deny her offer. It wouldsound rude. And what does she means by new family members? Elena, Ican understand but me... Well let's see what they want.

"As long as I don't end up as your dessert, I am good to go." I joked.Some part of me did wanted to confirm that that was not on theagenda.

She laughed,” Don't worry about it. We use blood bags not actualhumans and sometimes animals.” She said casually.

“Want me to extend your punishment young lady?" papa threatenedplayfully and I heard Ryder trying not to laugh at my expense andfailing miserably. Huh those two jokers.

I ignored those two and laughed on what Natalie said and continuedtalking with her,” Well then I should get going. It's a long walk home.""Sure. See you tomorrow.” She said walking towards her car.

"Yeah. Bye." I waved at her.

With that being said Alex, Oliver and Natalie climbed in their car andleft. Elena was already gone by now. But didn't Alex say, he wanted totalk to me about something after school. He might have forgottenabout it. I should get back home too. I also have to go to my shift in thediner later. I started walking in the jungle with Ryder but didn't talk tohim in case anyone saw me. Few steps in and Ryder stopped in histracks. He said, "He is coming this way". Before I can say anything, Alexwas standing in front of me. I screamed in surprise. He stared at me andthen started to laugh. I am this close of bitch slapping him but thatwon't hurt him so why waste my energy.

"Are you going to stop laughing or not?" I asked pouting.

"Give me a minute. Oh my god your face." and he continued hiscackling.

I side stepped him and started walking in the jungle. I can be a brat too."Hey wait. I was joking." he said blocking my path. Why does everyonehave to be faster than me? This is really getting on my nerves.

"What do you want to talk about?" I said folding my hands on my chestand giving him a stink eye. I am still mad at him for touching my phoneand now this. Uhh this guy can never learn.

"Yeah about that. What did you do to Oliver in the jungle?” He asked ina serious tone.

I stared at him with wide eyes. So this proves I actually did it and hedoes remember about the incident. But why didn't he ask me before?Oliver does not seem to remember anything or was he acting too. Let'splay my favourite game, playing dumb.

"What are you talking about?” I asked innocently.

"I know you know what I am talking about. One moment Oliver wasthirsty for your blood, to get out of my grip and suck you dry” I wincedat the awful image that formed in my head but Alexander continuedtalking. “And the other moment he was calm. The only difference in theafter situation was that you touched his face and boom, all the angerand the lust for your blood was gone. Just like that.” I shuddered. Noneed for the details buddy. “So tell me what you did? Oliver don't evenremember something like this happened. He just remembers trying toattack you then getting under control all of a sudden. After that youfainted and we brought you home." He finished narrowing his eyes atme.

Ahh so that's what really happened. What should I even tell himthough? I myself don't know how that happened. I can't tell him aboutmy family.

"I swear I don't know what happened. I thought it was a dream till now.I was in a daze myself I guess. All I remember is Oliver trying to attackme and you holding him back. Then everything is hazy from there. Thatcalming part almost looked like I was dreaming. Then everything wentblack and I woke up at your place.” I said “So it did happen.” I mutteredthe last part more like to myself to make this story more convincing. Iknow he can hear me anyways.

Hehehe I am getting better at lying, not something to be proud of butit comes in handy when you have too many secrets in your life.

"Are you telling me the truth?" Alexander asked me a bit suspicious."Off course. Why would I lie to you, when I am clearly at adisadvantage?” I said rubbing the back of my neck.

"I am not going to hurt you. If I wanted to I would have done it theother night.” he said, hurt shining clearly on his face. Oops. Now I feellike a villain.

"I know." I said. Geez I didn't mean to hurt him. I just wanted him off ofmy back.

"I will look in some old supernatural history books and try replaceing outwhat it was. Sorry for doubting you." He said smiling. Best of luck withthat buddy. But if he does replace something, it might be useful for me."It's okay and sorry about earlier.” I said sheepishly.

“Forget it. I haven't told the others and I would suggest you to keep itthat way till we replace out what exactly you are. Okay?"

"Sounds good to me. So you and Elena huh?" I asked wiggling myeyebrows. He chuckled.

"Yeah. She is my mate and I am already in love with her. I feel completefrom the moment I met her. I know this sounds cheesy but it's the truthso no comments. I can see it on your face. You are going to saysomething really nasty." He said giving me playful suspicious look.

I laughed,” Mate huh.” I didn't knew vampires have mates too.“Wonderful. It's only been a week though. But I am not going to sayanything on that. I should get going now. Tell me if you replace anything.” Isaid turning towards the direction of my cabin.

"Yeah I will. I can drop you off, if you don't mind. It will be faster thanwalking."

I wasn't going to walk anyway. How am I supposed to deny him? Hewill definitely think I am hiding something. Well I am but. Uhhh. This ishard.

“Ask papa.’ said Ryder. Trust Ryder to come up with something indifficult situations.

“Papa Alex asked to drop me off and I can't really deny him. He will gettoo suspicious. Do you mind if he drops me off?" I asked.

'If you trust him then I don't mind. Just because he is mine and Ryder'snatural enemy doesn't make him a bad guy. Just don't tell him aboutus.’ Papa's reply was instant.

“Okay’

"But how are you going to do that?" I asked Alex.

"You can climb on my back and I will run towards your home. Just pointthe way.” Climbing on the backs has become a major part of mytransport nowadays.

"Okay." I said nodding.

I told him were to go and we were at the cabin in a couple secondswith Ryder running right behind us.

"Thank you." I said sliding off of his back.

"You are welcome. Do you live here alone?" he asked confused.

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"Oh! I am orphan.” Sorry papa.

"Aren't you Elena's sister?” He was getting more confused by everypassing second.

"Biologically. Yes.” I said in a monotone.

"I am not getting this." He asked bewildered.

"It's a long story and I am not really comfortable with sharing.”

"I can understand. But are you safe here? I mean it's in the middle ofthe jungle.” He asked worried.

"I am safer here than I can be anywhere else.” I replied smiling.

"Okay. If you need anything, I am only a call away." He still looked a bitout of it. It's not that hard to understand.

"Yeah I know and thank you. Please, don't tell Elena where I livethough." I requested.

Don't pity me please, I am happy here. But he does not know this. I willjust go with it.

He smiled," I promise I won't. Don't worry. I should get going now. Bye.See you tomorrow friend.” he said playfully.

I laughed," Yeah. Bye friend."

He was gone with a whoosh. He is a really nice guy behind all that hardmask he pulls on his face. Elena will be happy with him. I turnedtowards my sweet home. I am in a dire need of a nap. I am still notrecovered fully I think, that's why I am feeling so tired. I will talk to papaand Ryder after I get back from the diner. A loud yawn escaped mymouth. I laid on my bed and closed my eyes. What a weird day.
