Chapter 15- Amara

Alex and I are in his car going to my cabin right now. He drove a bitfurther from his house, pulled over to a side and we got off.

"Hop on." He said crouching in front of me.

I climbed on his back and in a few minutes I was home. My eyeswidened in shock seeing Ryder sitting outside of the cabin flaring hisnostrils. What if Alex sees him? Ryder's got to be stupid for doing this. Iam having a mini panic attack right now and Ryder is glaring at Alextotally ignoring me. Oh silly me. Ryder can't be seen unless he wants tobe seen and I don't think he wants to be seen by a certain someone,when that said someone is a vampire. I got off of Alex's back.

"Thank you." I said still a bit tense.

"No actually I should be the one thanking you." He said smiling."Why?" I asked confused.

"I don't know what you did the other night, but after that, Oliver iscompletely changed. He used to be so closed off. He never let hisguard down before but now he is so, how can I put this....happy andcontent. I am glad he opened up to us. We know him from more thanthree hundred years, but I have never seen him like this. Enjoying hislife, I mean. Thank you so much. Others don't know about the incident.But they think he changed because of you, which is very much true.That day I was more shocked about how he reacted towards you. I havenever seen him talk to someone so softly, not even to Natalie. He isnever that relaxed around anyone like you saw him today. Thank you sovery much for that." Alex said gratefully.

"Now I know why you all were looking at him like that when he wasdancing like a maniac.” I said laughing.

"Yeah." He said grinning.

"But I didn't do anything. You don't have to thank me for that. Justforget what happened. Okay?" I said hoping he would truly forget it."Okay. But I will try to replace out what that was." He said thoughtfully."Fine.", I said giving a big yawn.

"You should go sleep. You have to go shopping tomorrow with thosegoons. Just a heads up, Natalie is crazy about shopping. So beprepared.” He ruffled my hairs.

"But I just want an ice cream.” I said pouting.

"No escape now kid." He grinned.

"You too." I groaned "1 am not a kid. I am just a year younger than you."he raised his eyebrow at me.” Okay. Not just a year. You got my pointthough.”

"Yeah but I will stick to calling you kid. It's fun to annoy you." Hegrinned widely.

I huffed and turned around towards my cabin,” I am so not talking toyou ever."

He laughed,” We'll see how long that lasts. Good night kid."

"Good night." I mumbled.

He was gone just like that. Ryder was now narrowing his eyes at me. Ohthis is so not good. I went to him,

"Hey big brother. What's up?" I asked innocently smiling at him.

"I do not appreciate you being this close to them Amy. They aredangerous for you. You know what I mean right.” He said huffing inannoyance.

"I know Ryder but they are really nice people. I don't think they will everintentionally hurt me." I said sighing

"I know. But I am still worried and you can't stop me from gettingworried about my one and only baby sister.”

"Yeah I won't stop you from worrying. You will get a lots of wrinklesthough." I said smiling playfully.

"I am a wolf. I don't get wrinkles. By the way I want details.” He saidhuffing. Grumpy are we now.

"You are asking like I went on a date or something.” I said raising myeyebrows questionably.

"Just so you know, you are not allowed to date until you are at leastthirty." he said seriously.

"Like seriously. Do you want me to die single?" I asked horrified.

"Just tell me about the dinner.” he said ignoring my question.

"I will tell you tomorrow. I really want to sleep now." I huffed and wentinside. Ryder was laughing, I don't know why.

Sunday morning I woke up at six, grumbling due to the lack of sleep. Itrained with papa till noon. I tried that healing thing, but didn't succeedin it. Maybe papa was right. I do need a trigger. I told Ryder aboutSaturday's dinner, which he didn't comment anything on. I am reallygetting certain he will explode any day now and go on a rampage. Wellthat would be a sight worth a million dollars, a huge see through wolfthrowing tantrums. At 5 in the evening I met Natalie and Oliver at thesmall mall we have in the town. Alex was right about Natalie. She iscrazy about shopping. We had ice cream after visiting every possibleshop with clothes in them as an item of purchase. When did shoppingbecame this torturing? My legs are hurting because of all the runningwe did due to a certain someone. But it was worth it. We had lots offun.

Monday mornings are dreadful, as you have to drag your ass out of thebed and to the school. Ryder dropped me off at the usual spot. I wentinside and someone hugged me real tight squeezing the air out of me.It was none other than Aaron.

"You are cutting my air supply.” I said tapping his back.

"I missed you so much." He said letting go of me.

"I missed you too." Geez I love this guy. He is so adorable.

We went to our first class, biology as usual. Alex and Elena were alreadythere being all lovey dovey. How do people get so early to school everyday? Classes went by like usual. Last bell rang and we were walking outof the school. As usual Aaron, Elena and Knight's cars were magicallyparked next to each other. I should get used to the pattern I guess.Elena, Alex, Oliver and Natalie were standing their chatting with eachother. We were a good twenty foot away from them when Aaronstopped me. I turned my head towards him giving him a questioninglook.

"Let's go to the beach.” He said out of nowhere.

I gave him the "are you crazy’ look and said,” I work on the weekdays.Why all of a sudden though?”

"Just call in sick. We don't get much alone time together anymore and Ihave to talk to you about something. So please come with me. We cango cliff jumping too.” He said almost pleading.

"Fine. Just let me call the diner.” I said giving up.

He fist pumped in the air. I laughed at him and called the diner aboutnot coming today.

"When are we leaving?" I asked.

“Its 2 o clock now. How about in an hour."

"Sounds cool to me."

"Okay then meet me here at three.” He said jumping up and down."Okay." I said nodding.

He ran towards his car grinning like a fool and took off. I waved at Elenaand the Knights and went to the back of the school. At the usual placeRyder was waiting for me. I climbed on his back and off we went.
