Epilogue

I woke up to replace Alec sitting on the couch in the hospital room andAsher snuggled to my back fast asleep with his arms tightly woundaround me. I smiled at Alec. He raised his eyebrows and motionedtowards Asher. I blushed due to embarrassment. I moved on my backcareful not to wake Asher up. Alec came near me and sat in the chairnear the bed.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Better but tired.”

"Panic attack? I don't buy that." He said suspiciously. “You never hadany before.”

"It's a long story. I will tell you some time later." I can see a patternforming there.

"Why didn't you call me if you were not feeling well? Mom and dadwere so worried about you. A few weeks of living here and youmanaged to get yourself in the hospital. You can come back toEsterden, just say it. Your parents can go to hell for all I care.” He saidangrily.

"Actually I like it here. Wait a sec, uncle and aunt are here. Where arethey?" I haven't seen them for almost a month.

"They went outside to get some snack. They will be here any moment.Elena is with them. Her boyfriend and his family too. When did youmade up with Elena?" he inquired.

"She talked to me on the first day of school. After that we becamefriends.” I said casually.

"You forgave her just like that." He said in disbelief.

"Yeah. But I didn't accept her as a sister. She is just a friend. You know Ican't hate anyone.” I admitted biting my lip.

"I am not going to say anything on that. It's your decision anyways. Doyou need anything?"

"I am starving. I need lots of food. Please bring me something to eat. Idon't want to eat hospital food.” I whined and Alec laughed.

"Let me call dad. He will bring something on the way."

He called Uncle Dale and told him to bring some light food for me. Wechatted for a while with Asher still snoring by my side. How the hell cana person sleep so soundly with someone talking beside him? He mustbe really tired. Uncle and aunt entered the room and asked me if I amalright. I don't want to wake Asher up but I don't have a choice now.Uncle is making weird faces at his sleeping form. Good luck Asher."Asher", I called shaking him a bit. He snuggled even closer andtightened his hold.

"I am comfortable here.” He mumbled. Alec and Aunt Clair laughed.Uncle Dale glared at Asher. I can feel the heat starting to rise up myneck.

"Asher wake up.” But he opened only one eye and scrunched his nose.“Let me sleep baby. Please.” Uncle Dale looked menacing. Oh no.

"My family is here. You need to get up.”

He jolted out of the bed and rubbed his eyes. He bolted in the adjoinedwashroom to freshen up.

"Is that your boyfriend?" Uncle Dale asked me thoroughly greeting histeeth. Fathers!

"Yes" I replied. The walls seemed more interesting suddenly.

"When were you going to tell us?" he asked sternly.

"Soon?" I said looking down.

"We will talk about everything later. I don't want to stress you rightnow. Eat first. If you need anything tell us. We will be outside. Okay?" hesaid.

Yup"

"Get well soon honey." Aunt Clair said and hugged me. Asher came outof the washroom. Uncle Dale put his hand on Asher's shoulder and saidsternly,

"We are going to have a nice chat outside young man. Come with me.",Asher gulped loudly.

They left leaving me and Alec alone. I ate and we talked for a while. TheKnights came in with Elena and Aaron. Alec went out not before glaringat Elena. Aaron hugged me.

"I thought I lost you." Aaron said almost crying.

"I told you, you are not getting rid of me any sooner.” he laughed."How are you kid?" Oliver asked me.

"Good I guess.” He is still calling me kid.

"Quite a stunt you pulled out there.” Alex said narrowing his eyes. Ismiled sheepishly.

"Stop bothering her Alex. She just woke up out of a coma." Elena saidnudging him. He huffed in reply.

"We were thinking, you should stay with us for a couple of days. Atleast till you are well enough.” Grace said.

"But" I started.

Alex cut me off, "No buts kid. You are not staying at the cabin alone. Iwill not let you stay with the wolves. So that is out of the options. Theyhave done enough damage. Asher can visit. This is final.” he glared atme daring me to object.

The doctor came in to examine me and everyone left. He said I can gohome after the papers are done. Alex was serious when he said I wasstaying at his place. Asher wasn't happy about this but Alex made itclear that nobody has a say in this. They didn't even let me get out ofthe bed for the first week. Uncle, aunty and Alec also stayed with methere for a day. But then they had to leave. Alec stayed with me thoughfor a few days. He turned out to be Caleb's mate and I teased him a lotabout it. They met when he first visited me in the hospital, the day I wasadmitted here. Uncle got angry when I told him I live in a cabin in themiddle of the woods. He didn't press on it though, I am thankful forthat. Uncle and aunty doesn't know about papa and Ryder. They don'tneed to know that. They are my parents too in one way or another.

I met papa and Ryder after I got to the Knights place from the hospital.They were happy that I am alive but papa banned me from healinganyone ever. I moved back to the cabin after I recovered. I don't wantto be a burden on anyone. The Knights did more than enough for me.Alec transferred to Greycoast high to stay with me and Caleb. Theshifters and their mates apologized for how they treated me earlier.They thanked me for saving Leo's life. Asher's parents also apologizedfor their behaviour the other day.

My parents didn't show up though. But I don't except anything fromthem anymore. It just feels bad that they hate me so much that theydidn't even show up when I almost died. They made their choice a longtime ago. I think I just accepted it now.

It's been a month since the incident. Alec and I rented a small flattogether. Uncle and aunt wasn't convinced on me living in the jungle.Asher is always with me in the free time and every night I sleep in hisarms. I am back to normal now with some added events. School anddiner shift from Monday to Saturday. Then I spend some time with thepack. Training on Sundays excluding healing. Papa is dead set on notallowing me to heal anyone anymore. Spending time with the Knightsafter Sunday's training.

So this is my life now. I don't know what is going to happen in thefuture and I don't care about it right now. Maybe I will get married toAsher after turning eighteen or maybe not. Maybe I will go to college.Who knows? The truth is that you don't know what is going to happentomorrow. Life is a crazy ride and nothing is guaranteed. The one thingI know though is that I am going to savour every moment of my lifeand live to the fullest till my last breath. High hopes, a positive attitudeand you get everything you wish for.
