A Gold Alpha For A Silver Alpha -
Bonus Chapter 3
Extra Three
-Mum, tell Julian, Jackson and Jace to let me train with them!
-Dad, tell Juliet that we're not going to watch her so she doesn't get hurt and cry like last time!
-I didn't cry because I got hurt!
-Oh no?! Then why did you do it?!
-It's just that your face is so horrible that it hurt my beautiful eyes!
-Mummy! Daddy!
Our children's voices echo through the house, Jason and I share a glance over the papers we were going through.
-Your turn!
We say in unison as we hear the four pairs of shoes approach us. I give him a flirtatious look and a sideways smile. The way my mate swallows spit and his eyes dilate, I know I've won the game.
Ha, he can be all the Alpha he wants, but I'm still the one in charge here.
It isn't more than a couple of seconds before our four children burst into the room unannounced. Juliet and Jackson come pushing each other to get in first while Julian and Jace are in the back walking calmly.
My lips curl into a smile as I see my two sets of twins arrive. Really if you didn't know them you wouldn't think they were brothers all four. Jackson and Julian were born with golden hair like their father while Juliet and Jace had my hair as black as night. Jackson and Jace have the amber eyes of my mate while on the other side Juliet and Julian my silver eyes.
All four were about the same height which was between five foot seven and eighty, (Juliet was the shortest at five foot six). All four of them had a healthy shiny skin tone like the wolves of Golden Moon. And all four had silver blood, like the former members of Silver Moon.
-I don't want to take her, she'll just be a nuisance and slow us down like last time," Jackson blurted out as he looked at Jason, my mate looking very serious as he folded his arms.
-A nuisance? I remind you that you were the one who made us delay us twenty minutes in the forest so we could accommodate your hair. said my princess angrily.
-At least I don't go crying for every little scratch I get!
My son shouted at his sister, who reddened with anger and shouted back.
-I broke my ankle, you idiot, which wouldn't have happened if you hadn't wanted to take a shortcut on a road nobody knew about!
-You wouldn't have broken it if you'd been more attentive to your surroundings, but you're still too little to go out with us.
-Jace is smaller than me! Juliet says as she rolls her eyes.
My other two children just sigh and look at their twins with a tired look on their faces, already used to their fights.
Indeed, Jackson was the eldest of the four, but Juliet was bigger than her twin Jace. That made her have the same Alpha gene as my son, which meant that the two of them were always fighting.
-Well that's enough, I don't want to hear another word about this, this is not appropriate behaviour for four children of Alphas, is this the example their mother and I have set for them?
Jason asks and my two babies lower their heads in shame.
-The four of them will go and look after each other. No buts Jackson, Juliet your brother is in charge so you will obey him in everything without protest. Julian, Jace, I don't want you taking sides in their arguments, this is not a democracy. Any questions?
Says my mate in an Alpha tone, the four of them nod with their eyes downcast but none of us miss the poisoned look shared by Jackson and Juliet, these two live to annoy each other. I wouldn't be surprised if they start arguing again as soon as they're out of sight. -Juliet, we have to finish rehearsing the dance before we leave, and the teacher is waiting for us. Jace speaks to my daughter and she stops fighting with Jackson to look at her twin with a squashed dog face.
-I don't want to, I suck at dancing. She says as she pouts.
-I'll be your teacher sis, I'm a great dancer, come on. Jace says as he makes a graceful bow and offers her his arm, she smiles and returns the bow and then takes his arm.
They both walk towards the door with Julian following them. Juliet turns her face and sticks her tongue out at my first born before leaving the room with her brothers escorting her. Jackson smiles tenderly when his sister doesn't see him, shakes his head and leaves behind them mumbling something about how he'll never understand girls.
-Remind me why we had so many kids.
Jason said as he gave me an amused look.
-Because someone couldn't keep their hands to themselves Alpha, plus I only got pregnant twice. But someone has such good genes that they made me have twins both times.
I say mischievously and my mate smiles with pure male pride.
-Ah, what good genes I have. And even though they give me a headache most of the time, I love my kids so much I wouldn't trade them for anything.
I get up from where I am and sit on the edge of his desk. My foot plays with the edge of his thigh, slowly moving up and down.
-And you love only them, my love," I say as I bat my eyelashes flirtatiously.
The smile he gives me is not for the faint hearted.
-But you are my greatest treasure of all time, my Alpha.
-Mmmm.
I purr as Jason caresses my legs.
Moon Goddess. After twenty years of being together the spark we felt for each other was stronger than ever.
I could see all my partner's intentions to get closer and disrupt all the work we had been doing since morning. But knocking on the door interrupted us. Jason grunted in annoyance as he ordered them in.
Logan and Noel came in with their hands full of envelopes, which they placed on the desk where I was sitting. My hands took one and I read the name of one of the neighboring packs we had alliances with.
Since we united the packs through the marriage and ascension ceremony, the tattoo of the damned disappeared from the members of Golden Moon and the good relations between all of them returned to what they were before.
In the end there was a happy ending for almost everyone.
-The answers from the packs about their attendance at the twins' party. All the Alphas confirm their presence along with their corresponding partners and families.
Logan says and that makes the mood in the room improve considerably.
In a few days we would be having a big party where my children Juliet and Jace would turn 18 and finally become wolves. Besides that we would also use the occasion to announce Jackson as the heir and future Alpha of the pack and the marriage of Julian who was the only one who had found his mate in the pack, who had turned out to be Noel and Lissa's first born. There was much to celebrate.
Both packs merged to become Starry Night Moon. A very long name indeed, but a nice one.
-It's perfect, I'm glad you can all come, it's going to be a one of a kind event and I want you all to remember it and go down in the books.
I say in a calm voice but with clear excitement.
-If that's all, we're dismissed Alphas. Ah, before that the Alpha of Hunter Night warned us that he left a very important note for you along with his confirmation.
Noel commented and together with Logan they left with a nod from me. My partner's hands reached for the Hunter Night Alpha envelope while I look at the rest.
Jason opens the envelope and starts to read the letter. My eyes are busy on my own envelope when I hear my partner's breath catch in his throat causing him to cough like crazy.
-Jason!
I get up and rush to hug him and pat him on the back. My mate is suddenly pale, breathing fast and the letter falls from his fingers as if it's burning.
-It can't be.
He whispers and quickly reaches for the page as he rereads it. He jumps up from his chair and paces back and forth like a caged wolf. -What's going on?
I ask trying to get his attention, but he ignores me as he paces back and forth with the crumpled note in his fist.
-After all these years, it can't be possible.
I mumble through my teeth and my brow furrows in confusion, now what the hell was he talking about? ...Now...Believe... Possible...".
He keeps saying in a lower and lower voice and I understand him less and less.
He said what?
-JASON.
I scream my head off and I finally get his attention, he turns his face to look at me and his worried expression makes my heart ache.
-What's going on? I say in a soft but firm voice for him to tell me.
-It's a letter written personally by Raphael, the Alpha of Hunter Night." He swallows before continuing, "He writes to tell me that a rouge was found wandering around his pack. He fought with your guards and left them seriously wounded. When they finally neutralised him and he de-transformed they realised he was just a boy in his early twenties according to him.
He stops and the colour returns to his face. My head spins a thousand times thinking of a response to his behaviour. And the only one that comes to mind causes my heart to start pounding.
It could be that...
-The boy, according to Raphael, has the brightest blond hair I've ever seen and light blue eyes. His wolf on the other hand has light brown fur about the size of an Alpha and yellow eyes. Rafael claims that they are identical to mine and that the boy in question is very similar to me. He asks me if I want to see him he can bring him when he comes to the boys' party. You know his pack doesn't let anyone near their territory, not since the last attack they suffered.
I lose my balance for a moment and stagger.
After all this time looking for him, could it really be him?
-Do you think it's your son?
I ask cautiously, my words like a grenade about to explode, we've been through this several times before. A clue there, a rumour there. Everyone always ended up in a dead end. Earlier this year we decided to pause the search because our children would need our full attention. And we would resume it next year.
Jason sighs heavily and covers his face with his hands as he carves his eyes.
-I don't know, I don't know what to think, my heart is happy but my mind refuses to be so gullible. But you of all people know that I haven't given up hope of replaceing him or her.
My body soon embraces him, he squeezes me as if he wants to melt into me.
-I know, love, and we will. We have to cross our fingers and pray with all our might. Maybe Selene will decide that twenty years is enough suffering and put him on our path again. -I hope so, Rae.
He murmurs and kisses my head.
-I'm going to call the Alpha right away and ask him to bring him with him, you go and take a walk to calm down. You're not fit to lead a pack as lost as you are.
I say the last with the intention of making him smile. Jason gives me a shaky smile before giving me a short kiss on the lips.
-Thank you, beautiful.
I give him another longer kiss.
-Always together Jason, remember that.
-Always together Rae.
And with nothing more to say we separate, he walks out of the office leaving me alone. Finally without my mate in the room I plop down heavily in the chair where Jason was sitting minutes before.
I hoped with all my heart that it really was his lost son, for Jason's sake. But at the same time I was afraid of what that meant for our children. They didn't know he or she existed.
We had kept it from them so as not to worry or hurt them about the possibility of having a lost sibling out there. In the end, we didn't even know if the baby was born or not, and we wanted to spare them the suffering.
But the content of this letter changed everything.
With trembling hands, I reached for the address book with the numbers written down, sweat trickling down my palms as I picked up the phone and dialed the Hunter Night pack.
By the Goddess Selene I hoped this would all work out well.
