A Gold Alpha For A Silver Alpha
Moon-Colored Eyes Chapter 9

POV Jace

Where the hell am I, ah yes, in Juliet's room, where is my sister?

I half open my eyes and watch as sunlight streams through the bedroom window, most likely my twin woke up first thing to talk to my parents about her mate.

Mate, wow, it's weird to think of my sister with a life partner. Of the two of us I always thought I would be the one to meet her first, but look at the surprises of fate.

I still don't know what to think about the male, on one hand I was glad my sister met the person she is destined to spend the rest of her days with. On the other, I hated him and wanted to rip his head off because Juliet was hurt with him present.

If the wolf in the pack prison was my twin's mate she had better be praying to every deity possible, because if my mother doesn't kill him, my father will, and if he doesn't one of my brothers or I will.

Though maybe we'll let him live if my sister gives us her wet puppy dog eyes, it all depends.

I move my body around the delicious bed and do stretching exercises. Juliet definitely had the best room of the four of us, not that mine was a pigsty but the only woman in the family who wasn't my mother always managed to get the best of the best in everything. With heaviness I got up and left the comfortable place, just as I was in my pajamas I left the bedroom and went downstairs to have breakfast. I would change later, right now I just wanted to shut my stomach up.

The atmosphere in the mansion was tense, you could tell by the way the Omegas went about their work in the quietest way they could, as well as hurriedly. I arrived in the dining room and soon found myself surrounded by testosterone.

My dad, Jackson, Julian and Leonardo were sitting quietly discussing. Or at least I could read that from their body language, if I ignored the fact how Jack seemed to kill Leonardo every time he was near him.

I don't think my older brother will be able to accept him into the family for a long, long time.

Not that I did it with pleasure and joy, but I definitely didn't have my big brother's hostile attitude.

-Good morning family. Greetings.

-Good morning. My dad and Julian answered me. Jack and Leonardo were in the middle of an intense staring contest so they ignored me.

I sat down in my usual chair and looked at my mother and Juliet's empty seats.

-My mom and my sister? I asked calmly.

-They went out but they shouldn't be long, so we're waiting for them for breakfast.

Damn it, I wanted to eat at that moment.

-We're here! Well that was quick, I'm not complaining.

The figures of the women in my life made an appearance, I grunted a little when I saw my twin's short dress, had she gone dressed like that to the herd prison, I was going to beat her up at our next training session. -How did it go? Dad asked Mom as she came up to him and gave him a light kiss on the lips.

I immediately let them look at each other and turned my attention to my twin who sat to my left. She had a worried look on her face and a slight wrinkle formed on her forehead as it usually does when she is scheming something.

-The wolf is not Juliet's mate although he does have her scent on him, he was also the archer who shot her arrows. I have no doubt that he is a rouge because he has no scent of any pack I know, besides he is only a puppy, I doubt he can transform yet. But that doesn't save him from this afternoon's trial.

My mother declared in a flat voice as she rounded the table and sat at the head of it.

-What trial, Mother? Julian beat me to asking that question, as I asked it several wolves came in and left us breakfast.

Waffles, strips of beef jerky, chunks of apple and strong coffee. I really am a spoiled wolf. My hands don't even use silverware I just pick up the meat and pop it in my mouth. Mmmm, delicious.

-As much as I would love to just cut his head off- My mom starts and my dad growls a Rae at her to which she rolls her eyes and smiles innocently -I am now a calmer and more decent Alpha so let's present to the pack the rouge's crimes and let them make a judgement about what we are going to do with him. In the end the decision is up to your father and me but we want to hear what the others have to say about your sister's attack before we pass our sentence.

She explains serenely while she eats her omelette, I see out of the corner of my eye how Julieta chokes a little on her watermelon but she pulls herself together quickly.

-The trial in which everyone is going to be present and in the front row, right behind us and in the middle of Logan, Noel and Dannia. It's going to be when the sun goes down over the horizon, I don't want any of us to be late. Dad said and looked at all of us very serious. My brothers and I nodded and continued eating breakfast.

Well, everyone except Leonardo, the newest member of our family was left with a spoon full of yogurt halfway to his mouth as he looked at my dad with a frown on his face.

-All of them? Me too? He asked and slowly lowered the spoon. Dad nodded as he took a big bite of his sandwich. -You're already part of this family, so yes.

-But what will the others say, what will they say when they start asking about my background, because people are going to question when they see a stranger next to their Alpha's family, I think it would be best if I stay here," he says and I hear tension in his voice. He comments and I hear tension in his tone.

Being my father's illegitimate son was not going to bring him good things among our people, much less among the silver wolves. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes for a second. The former members of my mother's pack made up 70% of our military forces so to speak, and the fuckers were hard and cold as ice. If we who were children of their first Alpha were made to suffer, I couldn't imagine the treatment Leonardo would receive.

I sympathize with that humane.

I heblo Loris for the link and I couldn't agree more with my wolf.

-Hey, three errors in that argument," interrupts my mema and my father who was going to answer Leonardo, "First, we are Alphes we don't owe explanations to anyone, let's deal with the issues of womanhood as we think best. Second, things would be worse if you stay here locked up and then they replace out about your presence, it would look more suspicious if we tried to "hide" you. Third, it is not a question but an order. Everyone is present without exception and there is nothing you can say to justify your presence. My mother's tone was harsh but serene.

It made me tremble with regret but Leonerdo only interpreted the mendibule as he looked annoyed.

-I really don't think that's the best thing to do. I listened as Julien jedeebe, I watched as Juliete opened her eyes like plethora and Jeckson smiled with smirk. Even I got a little bit upset with my breakfast.

-And I'm not asking you, you live under this roof, you follow our rules, you go and go to that trial, period. The tone of my older brother was that of an Alphe and the power that resonated in him made Leonerdo shudder and look at him.

I have been beaten by a threesome, that woman is worse than all the Betes of my pedres put together.

We had to do three times as much work as usual, and all because Noel and Logen were expecting everything but the trial of the young man, so we could not have a regular session.

The only thing I wanted was to lie down in my bed and sleep to recover all my energies. But that was far from possible. Dennie had to entertain us all morning and evening on my mother's orders. The only good thing about this is that I wasn't the only one who suffered.

My four brothers were also present sweating and melting the day of their sufferings.

And yes, I did say my four brothers. Jeckson, Julien, Juliete and Leonerdo.

The newest member was visibly irritated at having to carry out the orders of my mother's Delte, but after his masculinity was challenged by Dennie, (who defeated him in record time), he began to take things more seriously.

At that time, we all decreed a truce, but we did not have a common enemy. It was extremely peaceful. Even Jeck and Leo seemed to get along better for a few fleeting moments.

But he returned and now we all had to get dressed and dressed presentably to be ready for the trial.

We had never had one before, I know that in other places they were more common while in other places they didn't even exist. But since I was a child my parents always made the decisions on their own with one or the other opinion of their Betes and Delte. I suspected that the reason why my parents had made this different situation was to give them the opportunity to choose the best way to do it, and that it was undoubtedly the worst situation they could have gotten themselves into.

I gave myself a bath in a short time and I chose some green pentelons militer with a pleyere blence. Unlike my brothers and my stone, (or rather the majority of my species), I did enjoy wearing all kinds of clothes, so I decided to put on some white sneakers which were one of my favorites.

When I finished dressing, I came out of my room and found my older brothers and sisters looking at me. Both were dressed in black pentelons, but while Julien's were formal, Jeckson's were denim. Both were untucked, and Jeck wore a wine-toned pleyere while Julien had a merino blue button-down shirt.

The three of us were worried and we all looked at the door of our brother's house.

We all moved closer but it was me who dared to touch the door.

-Juliet, it's time. Are you ready? I asked and the door opened in response.

My sister is a very beautiful woman, she is a copy of my mother with her hair as black as the night and her eyes as bright as the sun. She was taller and had a little more curves. But they didn't really look very nice because Mema always seemed to be dressed to fit while Juliete had to experiment with all kinds of modes and look feminine.

That's why we thought about our threesomes when we saw her in a pair of black leggings clinging to her legs, a braided suspender belt, a pair of combete boots that we used to wear when we ran very long distencies, and her hair totally braided from her roots. My twin also wore her face completely free of hair, and just because she was the owner of our outfit, I didn't give her a memento.

-What are you wearing? asked Jeck, who asked in a loud voice the doubts of all of them.

Her eyes shone and we all felt that eure of power that normally comes from my mother or my father.

-Let's go, we don't want to be late. I ignored his question and he went ceminendo by the pesillo.

I followed him with a bit of fear, but what is he planning to do? I tried to ask him about the ice but I ran into a solid wall that covered his mind and prevented me from weighing in.

Okay, I'm officially worried.

I looked behind me to see Jeckson and Julien following us just as confused as I was, the twins gave me inquisitive looks and I just shrugged.

I pity that human.

Loris spoke to me over the link and I couldn't agree more with my wolf.

-There are three mistakes in that approach," interrupted my mom to my father who was about to answer Leonardo, "First, we are Alphas, we don't owe explanations to anyone, we deal with family issues as we think best. Second, things would be worse if you stay here locked up and then they replace out about your presence, it would look more suspicious if we tried to "hide" you. Third, it was not a question, it was an order. Everyone will be present without exception and there is nothing you can say to justify your absence. My mother's tone was harsh but calm.

It made me swallow the piece of waffle with heaviness but Leonardo just clenched his jaw as he looked at her annoyed.

-I really don't think that's the best thing to do. I heard Julian gasp, saw Juliet's eyes widen like saucers and Jackson smirk. Even I choked a little on my breakfast.

-And I'm not asking you, you live under this roof, you follow our rules, you're going to that trial and that's it. My mother's tone was now that of an Alpha and the power that echoed in the room made Leonardo flinch and look down.

Dad cleared his throat and changed the topic of conversation, but my half-brother didn't say anything again for the remainder of breakfast.

(...)

I had just finished my new round of training with my mother's Delta and as much as it pained me to admit it. I had my a*s kicked, that woman was worse than my parents' Betas combined.

She was making us do almost triple the normal work, and all because the Noel and Logan were getting everything ready for the puppy trial so we couldn't have a regular session.

All I wanted was to lie in my bed and sleep until I had recovered all my energy. But that wasn't possible by a long shot. Dannia had entertained us all morning and half of the afternoon on my mother's orders. The only good thing about it was that I was not the only one who suffered.

My four siblings were also present sweating and cursing on the day of their births.

And yes, I said my four siblings. Jackson, Julian, Juliet and Leonardo.

The newest member was visibly irritated at doing my mother's Delta bidding, but after his masculinity was threatened by Dannia, (who defeated him in record time), he began to take things more seriously.

Apparently at those times we all decreed an unspoken truce to attack a common enemy. It was strangely uneventful. Even Jack and Leo seemed to get along better for a few fleeting moments.

But reality returned and now we all had to shower and dress presentable to be ready for the trial.

We had never had one before, I knew that in other packs they were more common while in as many others they didn't even exist. But since I was a kid my parents always made the decisions on their own with an occasional opinion from their Betas and Delta. I suspected that the reason my parents had made this situation different was to give the puppy a chance to do better, as it was undoubtedly the worst situation he could have gotten himself into.

I took a bath in no time and picked out some army green pants with a white t-shirt. Unlike my brothers and my father, (or rather most of my kind), I did enjoy wearing all kinds of shoes, so I decided to put on some white sneakers which were one of my favorites. When I finished dressing I came out of my room and found my older brothers coming out of theirs. They were both dressed in black pants, but while Julian's were formal, Jackson's were denim. Both were barefoot, and Jack was wearing a wine-toned T-shirt while Julian had on a navy blue button-down shirt.

The three of us shared worried glances and locked our eyes on our sister's door.

We all moved closer, but it was I who dared to knock on the door.

-Julieta, it's time. Are you ready? I asked and the door opened in response.

My sister was a very beautiful, practiced woman, she was a copy of my mother with her hair as black as night and her eyes shining like silver. She was taller and had a little more curves. But they really didn't look much alike because of the fact that mom always seemed to be dressed to go into battle while Juliet loved to experiment with all kinds of fashions and look feminine. That's why we almost fell on our butts when we saw her sheathed in black leggings clinging to her legs, a white tank top, combat boots that we used to wear when we ran very long distances, and her hair was fully braided from its roots.

My twin also wore her face totally free of makeup, and just because she was almost our height I didn't call her mom.

-What are you wearing? Jack asked, who loudly answered everyone's doubts.

Her silver eyes sparkled and we all felt that aura of power that usually came from my mother or father.

-Let's go, we don't want to be late. She ignored the question and walked down the hall.

I followed her closely with a bit of fear, but what is this crazy woman planning to do? I tried to ask her about the link but I was met with a solid wall covering her mind and blocking my way.

Okay I am officially worried.

I looked back to see Jackson and Julian following us just as confused as I was, the twins gave me questioning looks to which I just shrugged.

He hadn't said anything to me.

We walked to the entrance where our parents were waiting for us along with Logan, Noel, and Dannia. And as expected Leonardo was missing.

Mom assessed her only female daughter with a critical look, and curiously Juliet did not recoil from it. Dad also saw her with raised eyebrows but did not comment.

-Where is Leonardo? My father asked and it was me who answered.

-We thought he would be here by now. I said sincerely, apparently Julian had gone to look for him in his room but couldn't replace him.

-He is worse than the puppies I train. Mom complained- It's already late, everyone is gathered and waiting for us. Being late with other packs may be understandable because we are the strongest and in a way it is even to be expected. But among our own people it is disrespectful. Her tone was annoyed.

Mom was always stricter with our training, she gave us a lot of liberties but at the same time expected a lot from us. Apparently she was going to treat our new brother with the same ideology.

And if so, my brother had a long way to go.

-I'll go get him and catch up with them in the meadow. Juliet stepped forward but Jackson came closer as he shook his head.

-I'm not going. He replied and my sister clenched her fists for a moment before relaxing them.

-You're the first born, it will look worse if you're late instead of me.

-Then I'll go or Julian. I replied and the blond nodded.

Did she want to miss the ceremony? She denied and crossed her arms.

-You're faster but I'm the best tracker of the four of us, I promise I won't be late. You know how important this is to me, you won't even notice my absence.

I answered with a firm voice and my parents exchanged a glance before answering.

-Okay, but I don't want any scandal young lady. Dad warned her and my twin nodded before turning around and disappearing up the stairs.

-Let's hope it won't take too long to replace him. Let's go, I don't want to delay any longer. Mom said and we all hurried to follow her through the front door.

Once outside the mansion we arranged ourselves by ranks. Mom and Dad were in the lead with their arms intertwined. Behind them was Jackson escorted by Logan and Noel. And last was Dannia Julian and I, with her in the center of the two.

We walked to the large meadow where most of the silver wolves' residences and training area were located.

The space that was normally used to witness fights was now empty and surrounded by people. A few were in their wolf form as they guarded the perimeter, the integration of my mother and father's former packs was still a bit problematic at times, both breeds of wolves used to fight quite often.

They looked uncomfortable but deadly serious when they saw us coming. I know they realized we were missing my sister but they didn't dare express their doubts out loud.

We waited for a moment hoping that Juliet would join us with Leonardo but there was no sign of her presence. So my parents sighed and without any other choice they went forward to the center and started the meeting.

-We are gathered here today because we have a situation on our hands that we have never faced before. My dad started his speech and I looked around but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

-Last night our daughter Juliet was attacked by a group of three rouges and was seriously injured. My mom followed and growls with shouts of indignation were heard.

-One of them was captured by us and held. And while this crime is usually punishable by immediate death," my father said in a darkened voice and took a breath before continuing, "The circumstances of the rouge prevent us from doing so arbitrarily.

-To understand our confusion and before you make a decision about what should happen to this rouge, we first think it is only fair that you see his face. My mother finished saying and raised her right arm in the direction of the crowd that at that moment moved away to make way for a group of people who were approaching.

So I could finally see the male face to face. He had to make a very good argument if he wanted to save his skin.

I heard them before I saw them. A chocolate brown wolf and a warrior with a silver tipped spear were escorting a gangly boy, his clothes were torn and he was dirty. Full of mud and stains that I recognized as my twin's blood.

Any sympathy I might have felt disappeared when I noticed that detail. More grunts sounded along with several boos. My brothers and I bared our teeth ready to tear at her throat.

But all that stopped when we noticed a fourth figure walking in the rear of the trio.

By the Moon Goddess.

What the hell was Juliet doing there?!

The black-haired girl ignored the surprised looks the herd gave her and stood her ground. She walked with the males until they reached the side of my parents.

When she was close to them she bowed respectfully and then walked away to where we were waiting for her, but not before giving a look to the male that attacked her.

She took her place next to me and ignored my gaze, her eyes fixed on the rouge figure. She was also still with her mental shields closed so I couldn't yell at her as I wanted to. What was my sister thinking, or rather, what was she planning that she had to do it behind everyone's back?

I didn't like this at all.
