A Gold Alpha For A Silver Alpha
Moon-Colored Eyes Chapter 11

As I guessed and predicted, replaceing Leonardo's scent was not a difficult thing to do, although I will grant you that he did a good job of trying to hide his scent. But my parents' best trackers had indoctrinated me since I could learn to detect scents.

And yet you still got lost in the woods

Casiana mocked in my head.

It's not like you big, powerful wolf could replace your way back either so don't bother me.

Grumpy

Shut up and concentrate on replaceing my brother, the faster we do that the faster we'll know about our mate.

You should have started there human

We followed the crumb trail hidden in the forest, I ran dodging trees and tried to memorize the path so I would know how to get back.

I reached a point where I felt the limit of the territory.

By the Moon Goddess, where the hell had Leonardo gone? And why didn't anyone notice! I waved to one of the guards patrolling the area and let them know I was going out and to let my parents know, they would know the reason.

The pair of guards looked hesitant but I didn't let them think too much because before they answered I continued running.

I made sure to leave my scent in case someone wanted to follow me, because only a fool makes the same mistake twice.

About thirty minutes later I could feel a presence nearby, which made me become more alert, the smell of Leonardo, (which was of apples and mint), came more and more intense.

It was a matter of moments before I saw him walking in his human form with a backpack over his shoulder through the lush landscape. I let him know of my presence with a grunt before jumping on him.

My half-brother only had time to turn in my direction before my she-wolf's body knocked him to the ground and kept him pinned, my muzzle inches from his face.

I growled angrily at him, because of him I hadn't been able to talk to Max right away, but had to come looking for him.

-Damn it, why did you follow me," he asked me annoyed and I barked at him, "I don't understand canine language, either you talk to me with words or through the link. He complained.

I rolled my eyes.

I got off him but I stepped on his foot on purpose with my paw, reloading most of my weight, I don't know if I broke him but I did hurt him enough so he wouldn't run away.

I didn't know if I would be able to lose him, but I wasn't going to risk it.

-AUCH, what the hell are you doing stupid! He shouted as he held his foot and I went back to being human.

-Oops, sorry I didn't see you. I said innocently.

-You and your family are all crazy, only a stupid person would leave the safety of the herd to go into the wild territories. I complained between complaints.

I arched an eyebrow in disbelief and crossed my arms.

-You do realize you did it right, right now I could be having a conversation with the puppy while I eat something but no, I'm out running through the woods looking for a wolf that doesn't even want to be part of my family. So don't try to victimize me. Leonardo snorts and stands up carefully so as not to lean on his injured foot.

-Be honest, neither you nor your siblings' little princes or your parents want me there, so I'm doing everyone a favor by going back where I came from.

-And where did you come from, because since you arrived all you have done is criticize and complain. It's not that we hate you, we don't trust you which is different, and you can't blame us for that, we may share blood but we don't know anything about you or your life just as you don't know anything about ours. But you are my father's son which makes you my brother, so behave like one and don't run away because things get complicated. I demanded.

My chest was rising and falling hard, come on I didn't even know if I was really mad at him, I just didn't like him and that's it.

And him running away doesn't help with our trust issues with him.

-If you didn't want to go to the damn execution so much, you should have seriously talked it over with my parents, but give them a good reason.

-I shouldn't tell them anything if I don't want to, you are nobody to me. He spat irritated, very well now if I get angry.

-With that attitude you're not going to get anywhere, now, either you come back to me by hook or by crook. I warned him, crossing my arms.
As I guessed and predicted, replaceing Leonardo's essence was not difficult, although I will grant him that he did a good job trying to hide his trail. But my parents' best trackers had indoctrinated me since I could learn to detect scents.

Leonardo gives me a half smile and strikes a defensive pose.

-You're nothing but a puppy who luckily survived her first confrontation, don't make me laugh-.

My eyes flashed and my claws came out. Apparently my half-brother had forgotten that they had managed to take me down only because they filled me with arrows. In a fair fight there's no way that would happen. But if fighting is what he wants.

I'll make him eat his words.

We hesitate for a second, after that Leonardo feints and attacks me. His blow knocks me off balance as it comes from the side, but I pull myself together and avoid the next one.

I move a few steps away and duck to avoid his fist, then I jump to avoid his takedown and step aside to avoid being rammed.

Attack after attack my half brother proves to be very fast, I am impressed.

He pushes me into a purely defensive stance, but I'm not complaining, defense is just as important as offense.

A kick hits me directly in my chest height and throws me to the ground, I breathe heavily while holding the part where the impact was. I can hear Leonardo's mocking laughter which makes me grunt.

I take a deep breath and before he can see it coming, I claw him in the legs, my claws scratching all over the front of his thighs and he groans from the blood loss.

-You're a.... He starts but stops, grimacing.

-Thank you. I smile at him. "This can all be over, just go back to the house, it's not much to ask. I let him go, fed up.

-That's not my house. He chuckles and I roll my eyes, boy is this guy dramatic.

The sound of bones breaking brings me back to the present and I see how Leonardo transforms, I curse everyone and imitate him.

As soon as we both rise in our wolf forms I'm the one who jumps first, he tries to avoid me but I timed the jump right so I land directly on top of him, my jaw locks onto his back and Leonardo growls as he jerks hard. I bite down harder to avoid flying off.

My half-brother's chestnut wolf starts jumping desperately as his muzzle tries to reach me without succeeding, finally running into a tree and launching himself backwards.

I let him go and squeal loudly from the pain of the impact.

He lets out a bite that I dodge by inches but his right paw scratches my face and I whimper, bark at him and lunge to ram him.

I throw him on his back and get on top of him, my fangs close on his neck with no intentions of breaking the skin or making him bleed in that sensitive area, just waiting for him to realize the danger and give up.

But he seems to freak out and digs his claws into my ribs. I growl and bite a little harder. He buries them again at my chest level near my heart.

This time I do break away and squeal loudly as I pull back, I'm bleeding badly.

The wolf shakes and gets to his feet, readies himself by gaining momentum, I bristle my back and bare my teeth at him.

Damn that damn thing burns, but it won't defeat me. Not him, not here, not today.

He barks at me and I bark back at him, we both circle around each other, we prance, growl and bark hoping the other will give up but that doesn't happen.

As we are about to attack each other again we hear footsteps running in our direction from the West and we both pay attention to that point. We walk slowly towards the new threat, but the bushes and trees make it difficult for us to try to see beyond it. I inhale deeply, the scent of blackberry with jacarandas floods my senses, I've smelled that scent before....

Oh by all the gods.

Before I can warn Leonardo a white wolf with red eyes jumps from that direction and lands on him just like I did a while ago.

They both snarl at each other and roll several times exchanging bites.

What the hell do I do now, I shift restlessly not knowing what to do.

Should I help him or let him defend himself, for Selene's sake, the guy almost ripped my heart out.

The wolf manages to bite him in a hind leg making him scream a lot and fall because he can't bear the weight, then he climbs on top of him throwing paws and bites that my half brother tries to avoid without success.

Seeing Leonardo's blood covering the wolf's fur made me react. I growled and barked in annoyance before intervening.

The wolf didn't pay attention to me since he arrived and that was a mistake that was going to cost him dearly, he couldn't do anything when I bit his neck and ripped him from his position.

Unlike with Leonardo I didn't need to measure myself or be careful, it was a rouge attacking us and it was my right to defend myself as I could.

Besides he owed me one.

He hissed indignantly at me and tried to circle me but I wouldn't let him, we both shared barks and he attacked me tiredly.

But well, had I already told you that he was controlling me with Leonardo? Well, it wasn't the same with the white wolf, as soon as he jumped on me I changed my position, with my stomach up I used the same momentum to throw him against a nearby tree. I spun and got into action before he recovered completely, it was a good hit because he looked disoriented, he was shaking his head and trying to stand up, but I was already there.

I bit his paw making sure to pull the tendons, the wolf howled and threw a bite at me, I avoided it and my nails managed to scratch his face. It backed up as best it could but its back was cornered against the tree it had collided with.

Keeping him where I wanted him, I continued to attack with my claws and bites.

Face, side, paw, dodge, repeat.

The wolf began to tire and slow its movements, blood loss taking its toll.

At some point he was just squealing and rolling into a ball trying to avoid my attacks in that fetal position.

I paused a bit because there was no honor in attacking your opponent when he was defeated, I gasped with my tongue hanging out and looked around trying to locate Leonardo but not seeing him.

I barked and my paw hit the ground in annoyance.

Had he run off again, even after I had saved him?!

It had to be a joke, I walked in circles not knowing if the best thing to do was to go after him, or stay with the rouge to prevent him from attacking us from behind.

The white wolf squealed quieter and quieter and its red eyes ended up closing after a few seconds. His body detransformed back to his human form.

But what the hell

It was a female silhouette, her naked body was covered in blood and dirt, but I could still see spaces of her pale skin with many freckles and moles. She was thin but full of muscles, as if working out was all she did.

Her hair was short to about as short as her collarbones I guessed, platinum in color almost reaching bright white but a little darker. Her eyelashes and eyebrows contrasted by being a rather dark shade almost black, and her lips were thick pale pink. A small straight nose, fine features and oval face.

A small girl if you asked me for the size of her wolf, I cocked my head a bit curiously and approached her carefully. With my muzzle I moved her arm, but she didn't even flinch, staying in the same position. Did I kill her?

I don't think so, I can still hear her weak breathing so she is still alive, although with those wounds who knows how long she will be alive if someone doesn't treat them right away.

I turned her completely around replaceing several marks and scars around her body. Some especially big and ugly ones on her back. Who must have done this to her and why is she out here all alone? Noises of footsteps make their presence known and I instinctively get into a fighting pose.

A wolf my size dark chocolate color and grass-green eyes make an appearance. I growl a little but then all sound is frozen in both our throats.

My eyes widen as wide as they can go and I let out a small squeal.

He looks at me puzzled.

But I know he's feeling what I'm feeling.

The aroma of chocolate with forest drives me crazy and Casiana screams excitedly in my head.

After so much intrigue I am uncertain.

Here he is...

Though he doesn't look too happy to see me, as his gaze falls on the girl's sprawled body and his features darken as he growls at me.

I frown in my mind.

Oh oh, please tell me she wasn't your friend.

Damn it.

KILL.
