A Gold Alpha For A Silver Alpha
Moon-Colored Eyes Chapter 18

Jackson

POV

Do you have a little sister, a little sister who brings out green gray hairs in you, contradicts you, is capricious, seeks to get her own way in every single thing she does. But you still can't live without her because she's the ray of light that brings color and fun to your life. Well, that's Juliet, that little troublemaker who came into my life to change everything, before I grew up, (although we have been together for a short time), I didn't have to fight for leadership with anyone, Julian preferred not to argue with me before turning his attention to other more interesting things. I still remember as if it were yesterday when my father put that little ugly, pink and wrinkled baby in my arms, he told me that she was my little sister and that I was responsible for her. From then on everything I knew changed.

That tiny, fragile thing that could disappear at any moment captured my heart with her soft little hands and wouldn't let go. Then she grew up and learned to talk and that's where it all went down the drain, sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't have been a better idea to have taught her sign language instead of speech, it would have saved me a lot of future problems.

And that brought us to the present day, I was in my bed tossing and turning because sleep didn't want to come to me, when my sister's scent, (which to me was lavender and caramel), was slowly drifting away from her room, which was not uncommon, Juliet would occasionally escape in the direction of the woods, but now that she had found her mate and was sleeping under our roof I had a pretty good idea of where she was going.

I tried to let my mind ignore all the ideas my crazy imagination was creating, my little brothers hadn't suffered the rutting seasons yet, only slightly because they had only just transformed for the first time, so the feeling was a hell of a lot milder than in my twin and

me.

I have yet to meet my destined mate, so I did not know the force of magnetism this represented, but I have a firm belief that for each person it was different, as from my mother's anecdotes, she was able to withstand a fairly considerable season of the mating bond as she was not ready to mate with my father when he came along.

Likewise Julian and Bella were able to spend long periods away from each other unaffected, so with so many examples available, it was taking every ounce of my will not to go to the room where the male was resting to make sure my baby sister wasn't hiding in

some corner.

But my efforts were in vain when the faint scent of arousal wafted through my door, before I knew it I was walking down the hallway on my way to the guest wing.

Luckily I was able to stop myself before committing an imprudence, it took me several attempts and I had to breathe through my mouth to control the protective instinct that came out with my sister, I turned around repeating to myself that Juliet was no longer a child and that she could make her own decisions.

I walked a couple of steps before stopping again in front of the door of the room Leonardo used during the time he was with us.

Call it intrigue, curiosity, morbid, intuition, sixth sense, name it what you will, but before my mind registered the movement, my body moved on its own and I had already entered.

You could tell the guy hadn't spent much time here, because aside from the unmade bed and a few things out of place everything was spotless.

But what caught my attention was not that detail, but rather that despite having spent the whole day outside, my brother's scent was fresh, quite, as if he had just walked out the door or was in the bathroom.

Intrigued and seeking to occupy my mind on anything other than that of Juliet intertwining with that of her partner, I went deeper observing every detail, the trace of his scent was especially strong in the part of the window, which was slightly ajar, I approached the frame glimpsing finger marks full of dirt and blood.

Leonardo was just here.

I was warned by Rex and grunted in confirmation, I opened the window wider to pull my upper body through it, replaceing more footprints on the outside, details that would go unnoticed if you saw it from the outside.

My eyes scanned the forest nearby, trying to see any suspicious movement, I concentrated on trying to hear something, but all was quiet, I just stood there, with the icy breeze of the early morning freezing my bones. As I was about to give up and go back to bed, the wind changed direction and the faint but persistent scent hit my nostrils.

Masculine cologne and raspberries.

The scent of my brother.

Along with the familiar metallic scent of blood.

I pull my body out the window and drop down as I transform, by the time I reach the ground my two legs have been replaced by my four legs and I'm ready to get some answers.

I waste no time before running off in the direction of the forest, with every meter I go the scent gets stronger and stronger, leading me to wonder why the sentries hadn't picked it up earlier as it was quite easy to detect. Something does not please me.

I quicken my pace wanting to get to the bottom of it as soon as possible.

The sounds of a clear fight become audible, muffled moans, cries of pain, things being destroyed, blows being exchanged. I growl menacingly and leap across some collapsed logs that obstructed my view entering the scene unannounced. Vampire!

I scream Rex in my head at the sight of the bloodsucker, the cursed creature is standing in front of my half brother as they argue heatedly, meanwhile three bodies are lying around him and judging by how their throats have been torn and the non-existent heartbeat, they are dead.

I recognize the dead as two silver wolves and a golden one.

Leonardo and the vampire turn to look at me and I see the panic in my half-brother's eyes along with the satisfaction in the bloodsucker's.

F*****G TRAITOR.

I howl to warn everyone around me as I connect with the pack liaison and send a warning that we have intruders.

I miss the answering sounds as another vampire emerges from my right flank and attacks me.

I avoid him by a hair's breadth by ducking just in time, and get into attack position, I give him a few seconds to incorporate before I start attacking.

I go straight for his legs, if I leave him immobilized he won't be able to run, but at the same time I watch out for his hands, if he lures me into his mouth and his fangs reach me it will be the end of me.

His hands reach my fur as my fangs reach his calf, my incisors filled with blood and the pain of the pull on my back makes me grunt. I shake my head to tear off a chunk of flesh.

The pain in my loin goes away, but as I lose my grip a weight falls on me causing my knees to almost give way from the impact. I begin to flail in an attempt to shake it off, but it clings viciously, its fangs piercing me near what would be my shoulder blade in human form, I shriek in pain and annoyed I drop backwards crushing it.

The other vampire takes advantage of the position to sneak between my legs and sink his fangs very close to my throat, I can't lower my head enough, shaking desperately to separate him, he tries to get in a more comfortable position but that leaves him within reach of my claws, and I don't feel compassion when I sink them into his side.

The vampire releases me jumping as far away from me as he can, his hands holding his ribs that won't stop bleeding as he shows me his red stained fangs as a threat. I turn on myself trapping the other vampire underneath me and release bites in all directions while he squirms and kicks.

He can't help it, my teeth dig in and drain through his hands, thighs, arms, shoulders. He screams and makes a thousand threats to turn my fur into his new mat, but it's all in vain, I replace my way to his throat which is torn to shreds in just a few breaths. But I don't stop, my claws use that as a starting point until I separate his head from the rest of his body.

Panting I move away from the corpse while I approach growling at the other bloodsucker that only looks at me with hatred, I get in jump position to attack him, but before I reach my target something hits my side deflecting my direction making me roll a few meters. I stand up shaking off the dirt and look for the new threat, running into the figure of Leonardo standing up.

-Jackson, wait, I can explain. He said to me, adopting a defensive pose.

Traitor, I want his head, Thomala!

I growl in agreement with Rex and prepare to attack my half-brother.

-I don't want to fight you, but I will if I have to.

-A voice to our left distracts us and my mother emerges from the shadows of the night, her hands, throat, chest and mouth are stained with blood and her eyes gleam dangerously, "It is impolite to receive guests at this time of night," A look full of hatred towards the bloodsucker that retreats before the silver and golden wolves that emerge from all directions, "Especially those who are not welcome. He finishes saying with a steely tone.

Leonardo loses the color of his face and swallows audibly in a nervous gesture.

-It is not what it seems. He says, but his voice trembles.

Mom raises her eyebrows and a slow smile stretches her lips.

-Of course it's not, why don't we discuss it somewhere more comfortable?

The fangs grow to prick her lower lip and her eyes change to a white hue, the wolves growl in warning showing their support and I know my little brother has a very long night ahead of him. Whether he would get to see the sun rise again was a question yet to be decided.
