A Journey Within the Realm
Chapter 8: Randy, The Chosen One

I woke up on a bed in Leiko’s room. After I made sure I was back, I sat up.

“Randy,” Miki exclaimed, “You’re back!”

“Yep,” I replied, getting up and walking over to Leiko, “So, were you able to replace out why I’m here?”

“I did,” Leiko answered, “I have a feeling you did too.”

“Somewhat,” I replied, “I know that I’m the last light mage and that my job is to defeat Kei. That’s about it.”

“True. That is your job,” Leiko began, “However, that’s only the beginning. You see… you are the first male light mage. Because of Kei, women were the only ones who had magic. But the main proof of you abilities is on your right arm.”

I pulled my sleeve up. There, on my arm, seven symbols had appeared.

“Each symbol on your arm represents one of the races that live here in the magic realm,” Leiko explained, “Elf, Fairy, Ghost, Witch or Mage, Vampire, Goddess, and Demon. They all have different powers. You have the ability to use those unique powers as your own to grow even stronger. The more races, friends, and teammates you have, the more your power grows. You, Randy, are the chosen one.”

“Then, where should I start heading?” I asked.

“You mean ‘we,’” Miki corrected.

“Miki, Kuri, Nori, and Randy,” Leiko said, “You must replace the last three races that Randy needs to be complete. One is in a town called Transbola, another is in a town called Triharvest, and the last one is in a town called Rune City.”

“I never heard of those places,” Miki said.

“Me neither,” Kuri added.

Leiko got up from where she was sitting and walked over to her drawer. She pulled something out of it, walked over, and gave it to me.

“This is a magical map,” Leiko explained, “Just tell it where you would like to go and it will show you the right path.”

“Thanks,” I replied.

“One last thing before I send you guys on your way,” Leiko said, walking over to Rin, “Dear, Granddaughter. You have grown into a strong young woman. Now is the time to show your true skills. Go with Randy and the others. Help them succeed.”

“I will make you proud,” Rin replied.

“I bet you will,” Leiko agreed, “Now, go guys.”

We nodded and started to leave. Before Rin left, she turned around and looked at Leiko.

“Good-bye, Grandmamma,” Rin said, following us out of the room.
