After Jay released Zoe, he didn't linger any longer and went directly to John. "Can you walk on your own?"

It was clear to him John had been drinking a lot.

"Yeah."

"Let's go," Jay said.

John stood, then swayed a little. Jay eventually had to assist him and help him to the passenger side of the car as Zoe followed behind. While she was considering if she should also get into the car, Jay said, "Johnny mentioned that this car is Cordy's. I'll send you back since I have to return the car."

So, Zoe got into the back seat.

The car ride was smooth. Even though it was late at night and there were scarcely any cars on the road, Jay drove slowly.

He had always been a gentle person.

Perhaps because he was living by relying on someone else's charity, she hardly ever saw him lose his temper. Zoe was also unsure which part of him attracted her. She couldn't even remember the reason she fell in love with Jay.

"Johnny asked me to buy some medicine," Jay replied. "Please wait here for a moment."

Zor was surprised. Who was injured? Was it so serious that he needed to get medicine right in this instance?

She hadn't seen any injuries on John just now.

Oh, wait... It looked like the back of his hand was especially red and swollen. However, the lights from the roadside were a little dim, so she couldn't see too well.

Once Jay got the medicine, he sent John to Chateau Emporio first.

"Give me a bit. I'll take Johnny home first."

"Sure."

Zoe was already very sleepy, and she yawned repeatedly. When Jay returned from sending John home, he saw that Zoe had fallen asleep in the car. The subtle snoring coming from her indicated that she was very tired.

Jay didn't disturb her, and simply drove slowly and steadily so as not to jostle her. After arriving at the underground car park, Jay parked the car and walked to the back seat.

He saw that Zoe had already shifted to lie down, and her mouth was slightly open with some drool dripping from the corner of her mouth. Well, it seemed she was quite deeply asleep.

Jay bent down and picked up Zoe in his arms. Zoe was the kind of person who slept a lot. She had been the same since she was a child. Back then, Jay would always wake up if there were thunderstorms and worry if Zoe was afraid due to the sounds. He would end up quietly going into her room, only to replace her in a deep sleep and sprawled across the bed. She didn't seem the least affected by the crashing sounds outside.

She was still the same now. She didn't even stir after he picked her up and continued to snore softly.

Jay carried Zoe into the elevator and went to Cordy's floor before ringing the doorbell.

Cordy answered the door almost instantly, and it didn't look like she had been asleep. It seemed she wasn't as unaffected by the situation after meeting John as Jay had thought.

"Mr. Parker?" Cordy was surprised to replace Jay at her door with Zoe in his arms.

She assumed that Zoe had again forgotten the security code and rang the doorbell. It was a regular occurrence, after all. Every once in a while, Zoe would ask her for the security code again. Besides, Zoe's hands were usually dry and her skin easily peeled off, so they couldn't set up the fingerprint recognition for her.
