He must have guessed that she was hurt by John and needed someone to lean on.

He felt Cordy sobbing hard in his arms.

He did not know if she was crying for him or for John. The only thing he cared about was that she wasin his arms, in a place where he could finally feel her near.

“Patrick, I admit that I don’t love you enough right now, but I swear I’ll do my best to love you,” Cordysaid clearly as she made her promise to Patrick.

“That’s enough for me.” Patrick hugged Cordy back.

The sight of the two of them locked in a tight embrace landed in Richard’s line of vision, and Sean wasstanding right next to him.

The two of them were standing on the balcony on the second floor of Cranston House, looking down onthe couple under the moonlight.

Of course, Sean did not wake Richard up.

He would not do something so meaningless.

On the way back to his bedroom, Sean walked past Richard’s room and saw him standing at thebalcony.

Richard was too alert and way beyond his years.

Sean hesitated for a moment before walking toward Richard.

Then, both of them stood there as they watched Cordy and Patrick embrace each other.

“Sean,” Richard said, “is Mommy really giving up on Daddy?”

“Do you think your mommy is the one giving up on your daddy?” Sean asked him back.

Richard got it immediately and nodded silently.

It was his daddy who gave up on his mommy.

His daddy ended up disappointing him.

“It’s getting late. You’re still growing, so you should sleep earlier.” Patrick patted Richard’s shouldersand said gently.

“Okay.”

Sean left Richard’s room.

His footsteps slowed down gradually.

It turned out that when all was quiet, his heart ached too.

Richard went back to bed.

He stared at the photo that he could not stop himself from taking using his phone.

It was a photo of his mommy and Patrick hugging each other.

He hesitated before finally sending the photo to his daddy.

He wrote the following words: [No one will stay in the same place and wait for you forever. Goodbye.] i

Since his daddy had given up on his mommy, then he would give up on his daddy too.

Meanwhile, John was seated along the corridor of the emergency room in the hospital.

The doctors were resuscitating Nana.

Yes, Nana tried to commit suicide again just because he went back ten minutes late.

She said that she could not wait even for a minute.
