But he shrugged the matter off as money was no issue to him.

"Why don't you tell Della to stop picking on me instead? I won't make things difficult for her if shedoesn't try anything silly.”

Finally, Jessica walked out of Larry's office.

Watching her leaving figure, a relieved smile crept up on his face.

Jessica was actually a relatively simple-minded woman.

All it would take to appease her whenever she was angry was a random present.

However, if she was truly upset, nothing he gave her would possibly cheer her up.

It was part of his plan to send her to guide Della, and he couldn't wait for the outcome of themeetup.

Since both women were entrepreneurs and had similar life experiences, the chances of themcollaborating in the near future were high.

Most importantly, it would be good for Della to have Jessica's guidance since Fred's condition wasunforeseeable.

Marching into Della’s office, Jessica announced the reason she was there, "Hey, Larry sent me hereto answer your queries on his behalf"

Della replied courteously, "Hello, Larry informed me of your arrival.Thank you so much for yourtime"

Oh? Has she really turned over a new leaf? She has never been so courteous around us before! Isthis merely another act of hers? Jessica started sizing the woman in front of her up.

Instantly, she kept her guard up.

Who knows what this woman is up to this time? Della went on to suggest, "Why don’t you have acup of tea? Thank you so much for coming here"

Oh, God! Since when did she become so considerate? Jessica took a few steps back with anawkward smile on her face while goosebumps formed all over her body.

Gazing at Jessica, Della opened up to her in a quivering voice, "You don't have to worry. mean youno harm. only asked you to come over because I need someone to answer my queries Jessica, I'msure you understand how I feel as a fellow woman.I'm horrified by the thought of my father leavingme."

As someone who had a similar experience, Jessica knew how awful it felt.

Her enmity toward Della finally dissolved when she felt the sincerity in the latter's words, and shestarted chatting with the woman.

Truth be told, Jessica was surprised as Della turned out to be a workaholic, which was contrary towhat she had expected.

She had always perceived Della to be an arrogant good- for-nothing who couldn't do anything elseapart from scheming against others.

Smiling, Jessica's eyes gleamed with surprise.

"Do you mind explaining this in detail?"

Della frowned and pointed at the part she was confused about.

Jessica was glad that Della had turned over a new leaf.

Hence, she didn't mind making friends with the latter.

Since Jessica had joined the corporate world way before Della did, she knew the unspoken rulesbetter than her.

Isn't she supposed to give me an explanation regarding that meal with Jake? A cold glint flashedacross his abysmal pair of eyes as he looked at the woman before him.

Although he was convinced by Caspian's hypothesis, he wanted her to tell him everything he wassupposed to know.

Meanwhile, Joan wondered if something was wrong with Larry, for he had been sitting on thecouch, ignoring her with a gloomy expression since she was back.
