A Touch of Sweetness
Chapter 3070

Chapter 3070

"Well, well.Look who's here?"

Lisa made her way to her door and mocked aloud.

Nancy got up right away after hearing the woman's voice.

"Oh, Ms.Barrymore.Take a seat, no need to greet me" Lisa said

Greet her? Does she seriously think she's worthy of my respect? Nancy straightened out her clothesand squared her shoulders as she stood tall in front of the young lady.

Smack! A slap landed on the young lady's face, turning it crimson.

"Are you nuts?"

Lisa cradled her cheeks and retorted aloud.

"I'm going to make myself loud and clear.Get the hell away from Jessica! If you even so much as laya finger on her again, 1 will make sure that you disappear from this city forever.Don't believe me?Why don’t you try your damn luck?"

Nancy turned on her heels to leave right after.

Lisa did not dare to tempt her fate, given the influence of the Barrymores in the city.

Lisa was frustrated at the lack of response from Caspian.

Damn it, Caspian is still giving me nothing! The young lady demanded, "Caspian, what the hell areyou doing? I've been hit by someone!"

So? Do you expect me to demand an apology from Nancy? Caspian shrugged her off and left.Great, they're all cornering me.

Lisa gritted her teeth as she watched the silhouettes leaving her.

Lisa made her way to the yard as she whispered on the phone, "How is it? Has she left?"

"No, she's been guarding the ward

There's no chance for us to strike a move; a woman replied softly on the other end.

Damn, I did not expect that Joan will care so much about Jessica!

"Alright, we'll see how things go.”

Lisa hung up the phone right after.

"What's the matter?"

All of a sudden, Caspian appeared right in front of her.

"You...Why are you here? Didn't you already go back to your room?"

Lisa retracted a few steps, and her voice turned shaky when she noticed him.

Well, I wouldn't be able to overhear all these conversations if I hadn't pretended to head back to theroom.

Caspian snorted at her reaction as he dashed forward to grab her arms.

"Spit everything out! What are you planning to do? You'd better tell me everything, or else I'mgoing to dump you in the wilderness!"

The young lady felt threatened, and she was well aware of how she would end up if she was indeedleft to fend for herself out in the wilderness.

"Caspian, I didn’t plan on doing anything to her.I was just calling my sister; she said in an attempt tocover up her tracks. Is she for real? Does she really think I've not heard her cold tone while on thephone just now?Great, I'll just teach her a lesson.

"Get up, follow me!"

Caspian dragged her out of the house right then.

"Caspian, what the hell do you think you're doing? You can't leave me all alone.I love you, and wehave a baby together’ the young lady caressed her belly and said hastily. She loves me?Is that whyshe's trying to harm Jessica?! couldn't bear someone loving me this way.

Ring! Caspian's phone rang all of a sudden.

At the sight of the caller ID, Caspian shrugged off the young lady and called a number.

"Hurry! You have to come to the hospital right now!"

Joan sounded exasperated on the phone.

Caspian was stumped.

However, he soon regained his composure and dashed for his car.

The young lady who was slumped to the floor curled into a wicked smile when she noticed his carspeeding away.

If she had guessed correctly, something must have happened to Jessica

"Doctor, please. You have to save her" pleaded Joan as she sobbed.

"Don't worry. We will try our best.”

The doctor reassured her before skirting her out the door.

Soon, Caspian, Nancy, Jory, and Abelyn made reached the hospital.

"What happened to her?”

Abelyn clutched tightly onto Dustin and asked.

"Where is she? The one who put her in this state?"

Dustin turned to ask Joan right away.
