“I'm vile? Not only have you asked someone to insult me, what about those things you said whileyou were busy recording the video clip. Also, you and Mark threatened Finnick to publicize theclient data. Did you forget about those so quickly! Do you want to talk civilly? Alright, you can talkcivilly with Finnick later and tell him what actually happened back then!”

"What happened back then was all planned by Mark alone. I have nothing to do with that, so whatdo you want me to say? Quickly let go of me!”

Deciding she no longer wanted to listen to Evelyn's useless nonsense anymore, Vivian walkedtoward the door and opened it. Then, she saw Hunter waiting with an anxious look on his face."Vivian, are you okay?" Hunter scanned Vivian from head to toe, worried that she might have beenbullied.

“I'm fine.” Vivian replied as she shook her head. She then stepped aside and let Hunter in.

After seeing Evelyn's unkempt appearance, Hunter frowned, turned to look at Vivian and asked,"What's going on?”

Vivian breathing became more rapid but she pretended to be unfazed. “I just took some photosthat will force her to tell the truth.”

The truth? Hunter paused for a moment and asked, “Are you referring to the kidnapping of Finnickback then, as mentioned earlier?”

“Yes.” Vivian nodded her head. “That time when Finnick and I had yet to divorce, I suspected Evelynwas involved in this matter. After that, many things happened, so I did not investigate further. SinceEvelyn brought it up, I must make her tell the truth this time!”

After hearing Vivian's words, Hunter's heart sank. It seems like Vivian cares about Finnick more thanI think. If she truly doesn't love him anymore, then how could she be so obsessed with replaceing outthe truth about the incident back then?

Evelyn grew hopeful as she saw Hunter come in. “Hunter, let me out. We've known each other for somany years, and you can't just watch me die without doing anything. Please ask Vivian to let meout.”

Hunter felt uneasy when he saw Evelyn spoke with such a pitiful expression on her face. Throughoutthe years he had known her, he was used to seeing her with a proud and domineering appearanceall the time. It was the first time he had seen her begging so miserably.

At the end of the day, it is her fault that she has ended up in such a difficult position. She wouldn'thave been caught up in our plan if she isn't trying to harm someone deliberately.

Dingdong! Dingdong! While Hunter was thinking about that, the doorbell rang.

As Vivian was about to open the door, Hunter stopped her and hinted with his eyes that she shouldbe careful. It wouldn't be good for them to be seen since they had held Evelyn in captive.

“It's Finnick. I told him to come here earlier.” Vivian smiled to reassure Hunter not to worry, then shewalked toward the door and opened it.

Finnick let out a sigh of relief after seeing Vivian was safe and sound. However, he asked again outof concern, “Vivian, are you alright?”

“I'm fine.” After closing the door, Vivian looked at Finnick and said, “The reason why I asked you tocome here is for you to hear the truth about your abduction back then.”

"What do you mean?” I don't understand. Wasn't it confirmed that Mark was the one who plannedthat abduction back then? Is there anything else I don’t know about?

Without answering Finnick’s question, Vivian brought him to Evelyn. “Go on and tell him whatactually happened during the kidnapping back then.”

Seeing that Finnick had finally appeared, Evelyn felt the hope in her heart completely shattered. Ican never let Finnick know about what happened back then. If he replaces out about it, I will end up likeMark. I don't want to go to prison. Over my dead body!

Since Finnick had already known of Vivian's plan, he wasn't surprised to see Evelyn there. However,he was taken aback by Vivian's question.

"Vivian, what have you found out?” Finnick asked with a serious expression on his face. Wasn'tEvelyn a victim as well during the kidnapping back then? Why is Vivian asking such a question?

“It's not something I have found out. When I pretended to be unconscious earlier, she got carriedaway and said it herself. It was she and Mark who planned that kidnapping incident back then.”
