"Or should I call Daphne to take care of you?" Elara looked at Asher.

"No." Asher coldly refused.

Every time Elara mentioned Daphne, he always felt that she was plotting something. That's between her and me. Stay our

of it."

"But you have no one to take care of you. Asher, I'm not angry anymore that you're with her, I just want you to be happy"

He likes Daphne so much because of her magnanimity, doesn't be? As long as I doesn't care about him, I can be equally magnanimous,' she said inwardly.

Seeing her sincere gaze, Asher didn't expect Elara to go to such lengths.

"Alright, take your time. I'm going to bed." With that, Elara turned around sadly, and Asher immediately felt guilt stir within

him.

Lying in bed, he thought about Elara walking away disheartened He recalled how she saved him late at night, yet he treated her so coldly...

Am I going too far?' After Elara started getting close to Lysander, Asher often paid attention to her reactions. Sometimes, feeling he had gone too far, he even reflected on his shortcomings... Lying in bed, Elara received a message from Lysander. [I'm home.]

She smiled, texting back. [Good night.]

Elara: [Just went to sleep.]

Asher's attitude toward her, the savior, seemed to have improved a little. Although he still put on that pretentious act in front of her, he had indeed improved a bit compared to before. Lysander. [Sleep early.]

The next day, Elara and Asher went to school together.

Since Asher was injured, Barrett had the driver drop him off as well.

Before they even reached the school, Elara had the driver stop the car. She looked at Asher, saying, "Get out."

Asher was left confused, staring at Elara. "Are you kicking me out!"

"How could I?" Although she was essentially shooing him away, feeling embarrassed to be seen going to school with him, Elara wouldn't admit it, of course.

She had already made up an excuse, her expression innocent. "What if your

Chapter 37

Upon hearing her words, Asher felt there was some truth to what she said. 'No, I'll get off" He opened the car door and stepped out.

As he left, Elara gave a wicked smile and asked the driver to go d

She used to like him a lot, so she always imagined him to be much better than he actually was. Now, it seemed he was not that smart after all. Although they went to school together, she didn't want people to misunderstand that she had any relationship with him. Arriving at school, Elara got out of the car.

"Elara, good morning!" Daphne walked over the moment she spotted her.

The classmates around, seeing Daphne, all praised, "Wow, Daphine is so nice. Even though Elara is so rude to her every day. she never gets angry."

Elara was utterly speechless at their brainless exclamations, wondering how they could manage to grow up, given their gullible nature.

She turned to Daphne. "I just saw Asher. He seems injured. Do you want to go check on him?"

"Injured?" Daphne frowned at the word, knowing it must be related to Asher's father.

"Is there any chance for you to get back to him?" she asked.

Elara watched Daphne, who persistently hoped for her to reconcile with Asher.

She really is persistent, as if she cared more about me than Asher, Elara mocked inwardly.

Letting out a sigh, she added, "What difference does it make if I ay yes? He only has you in his heart, doesn't he?"

"Elara, I will help you as long as you want. Girls should help each other."

"Wow, that is so nice of you!"

'She even offered to make Asher like me. Fuck you!' Elara cursed inwardly. Asher soon arrived. Seeing Daphne, he walked over and called out, "Daphne!" Daphne, upon seeing him, cooled down and turned away, ignoring him directly.

Asher's warm overtures were met with cold indifference. Determined not to give up, he followed behind her, demanding, "Why are you still mad at me?"

"You disregard what I say, and you ignore my efforts. Don't you know why I'm angry?" Daphne replied,

"I just want him to be with Elara, even if it's just for show, but he's unwilling. So, what's the point of being with him?" she complained inwardly.

"Do you really want to push me away from you?" Asher fixed his eyes on her.

Tm just doing it for your own good! Look at you..." Daphne scrutinized him from head to toe. "With Elara around, could you possibly get hurt? Do you just enjoy suffering or what?"

After scolding him, she then put on an air of helplessness. Her voice softened. "Asher, seeing your wound. I hurt more than anyone else. I just want you to be well. For you, I'm willing to compromise myself, how can't you understand that?" Chapter 37

The slight irritation Asher felt from being ignored was quickly soothed.

Daphne sighed, her face showing deep pain. "If you don't make up with Elara, let's just break up now."

If he kept acting like this, she'd rather stay away from him to avoid getting involved in his family's troubles. She wasn't Elara, who had money to cover for Asher's gambling father.

With that, she walked away, leaving Asher behind

At this moment, Elara approached, looking at Asher. "What's wrong? Did you really have a fight? Are you breaking up now?"

Asher's gaze fell on her. "Did you say something to her?"

"Huh? My fault again?" Elara looked at him innocently, utterly helpless at his words.

Seeing her innocent look, Asher recalled that she hadn't really been meddling in his affairs lately. He turned around and left.

Arriving at the classroom, Daphne continued with her own business, ignoring Asher.

Elara sat aside, replaceing the situation rather amusing as she watched them.

As she was staring at them, Asher suddenly turned his head toward her. "I'll go home with you this afternoon."

Elara was taken aback for a moment, wondering, "Wow! Is he using me to spite Daphne? So, I'm a part of their play?"

But she didn't refuse. If she did, she would totally ruin the chances for Asher and Daphne to be together. Just as Daphine -Wanted Asher to be with Elara, Elara equally wanted Asher with Daphne. Without witnessing the two marrying and having children, she would never rest in peace.

In the afternoon, Elara w
