After Death, Love Unveiled (Elara and Lysander) -
Unveiled 64
Chapter 64
In the past, everyone had doubts about Elara's identity and a mysterious admiration for Asher, thinking that no matter how much of a noble young lady Elara was, she didn't deserve him.
But now, Jefferson's words truly made Asher embarrasse. No one could have imagined that Asher's father was so greedy, almost eager for Asher to live off a woman.
Elara didn't hold back either, responding. "Mr. Blackwood, everyone at our school knows that Asher's girlfriend is Daphne. If you speak like this, they won't be happy." If Elara didn't clarify, people might actually think she was planning to be with Asher.
Thomas and Nora glanced at their daughter upon hearing this. Daphne bit her lip and stared at Elara, realizing that she was doing this on purpose.
Barrett took the opportunity to say to Jefferson, "Hey, the kids have made their choices, so let's not interfere with their
matters."
But Jefferson wasn't ready to give up. "This has to be a misunderstanding. Besides, Elara really likes Asher. There's no way Asher would be with some random woman.'
After finishing his sentence, Jefferson deliberately cast a disdainful glance at Daphne. The random woman he mentioned was clearly referring to Daphne.
The Wagner family didn't seem to be doing well financially, and all Jefferson wanted was for his son to marry a wealthy woman and change his own fate
He had no desire to be involved with the Wagner family, Jefferson intentionally made his words sound more unpleasant. Thomas looked at Jefferson. "What do you mean by that? Who's a random woman?" I'm talking about your daughter. What about it?" Jefferson retorted
"You!" Thomas took a step forward and grabbed Jefferson by the sleeve of his jacket Jefferson met his glare defiantly. "What? You want to hit me? Go ahead and hit me."
Jefferson stood there with a smirk, playing the part of a provocateur.
Thomas, being just an ordinary man, was so enraged by his words that he nearly lost his composure. Rather than argue further, Thomas released his grip.
"Jefferson," Barrett finally interjected, unable to let the scene continue any longer.
Jefferson looked at Barrett and said, "Mr. Kensington, there's no way Asher is marrying their daughter. Asher only likes Elara. You can be sure of that."
Barrett replied. "That young lady is perfectly fine. You shouldn't speak of her like that. Apologize to them
Seeing Barrett's stern expression, Jefferson, not daring to offend him, said, "Mr. Kensington... I... I'm sorry." He grudgingly turned and muttered a half-hearted apology to the Wagner family.
The bystanders watching the scene couldn't help but feel touched.
"Mr. Kensington is so kind, standing up for Daphne."
"Yeah, he really is admirable. That's what a real boss is like, with class."

"But seriously, what's wrong with Asher's dad? He's so rude.
While they praised Barrett, they couldn't help but criticize Jefferson for his coarse behavior. None of them had someone as ill-mannered as Jefferson.

Jefferson, however, didn't feel the least bit ashamed. With a son exceptional as Asher, it only made sense for him to marry the daughter of the wealthiest family. To Jefferson, someone with Daphne's background was utterly unworthy of Asher. shouldn't be
Barrett, satisfied with Jefferson's apology, spoke again. The two kids get along well, so as Asher's father, you causing trouble here.
Think about what's best for Asher. As for my daughter Elara, she already has someone she's going to marry" Elara chimed in. That's right, Mr. Blackwood. I already have someone I like. You should let Asher and Daphne be." Barrett glanced at the time and didn't give Jefferson another chance to speak. "Let's all head home for now," he said.
Elara followed her father as they exited the auditorium. Afraid that Asher might continue associating with the Wagner family, Jefferson dragged him away immediately, "You're coming with me."
Asher looked at his father, who didn't even care about saving his dignity, and felt like he was about to break down. All the hard work he'd put into building a good image at school had just been destroyed by his father,
He could even feel the shift in the way everyone looked at him as if the admiration had vanished.
Daphne stood to the side, feeling incredibly wronged. Thomas glanced at her with a stern expression. "From now on, you should stop contacting Asher. His father is so rude!"
Jefferson was clearly a terrible guy. Thomas felt embarrassed even at the thought of his daughter marrying into such a family.
Elara followed her father out of the school but spotted Lysander's car parked nearby. She turned to her father. "Dad, you can go ahead without me."
Barrett looked at his daughter. "You're not coming with me?"
"I have something to do," Elara said, a bit shyly.
Barrett noticed her hesitation. "What do you need to do this late at night?"
"Just go ahead. I'll come home later," Elara said as she helped him into the car.
Barrett, seeing her flustered expression, grew a little concerned. Are you going to be safe? Do you want me to wait for you?
Monica chimed in from the back seat. "I think I saw Mr. Hawthorne's car earlier."
Barrett was momentarily speechless but quickly understood. Seeing the happy look on Elara's face, he waved her off with a sigh
Elara closed the car door and watched as her father drove away. She waved goodbye, smiling as she did.
Sitting in the car, Barrett sighed. "My little girl's really growing up."
Monica smiled "She's almost eighteen now. You can relax a bit."

Once her father had left, Elara walked to the car parked nearby She opened the door and got in, replaceing Lysander sitting there with his eyes closed, resting... She quietly sat down next to him, admiring his handsome profile without disturbing him.
After a moment, Lysander opened his eyes and looked at her. Era met his gaze and smiled softly. "How long have you been. here? Why didn't you let me know?"
"I've been here for a little while," he said.
"Have you been waiting here the whole time?" Elara asked with laugh.
Lysander looked at her and asked, "How was the graduation party
"It was great." Elara replied. Her father's presence had shut down all the rumors about her being a kept wornan. No one had anything to say after seeing him, so Elara was in a particularly good mood.
Elara hadn't bothered to care about the rumors before since nope of it was true, but it was still a relief to have things cleared
1. up.
"My dad came today," Elara added.
Lysander nodded. "I see."
They were saying I was being kept, but after seeing my dad, they went silent. Though... she trailed off.
"Though what?" Lysander asked.
"I just wonder where Lizzie's been, Elara said.
Lizzie had been close friends with Daphne, but Daphne's betrayal had been a huge blow. Now, Elara couldn't help but wonder what Lizzie was thinking after everything that had happened. Lizzie had gone herself
all out helping Daphne make trouble for her, but she probably hadn't anticipated ending up in such a mess
"What do you need with her?" Lysander asked.
"She was the one who posted those things online. I just want to see when she's going to take them down. I'm not letting her off the hook that easily," Elara said.
Though she had been betrayed by Daphne and felt deeply hurt, Elara wasn't about to let Lizzie walk away from this unscathed
Lysander glanced at the driver and instructed, "Drive."
The driver nodded. "Yes, sir."
Soon, the car pulled up by the river Elara looked outside. "Why did you bring me here?
This area was full of warehouses, and at this time of night, there weren't many people around. Lysander stepped out of the car, and Elara followed.
Before long, someone approached them. "Hi, Lysander."
Elara looked up and saw Crispin standing in front of her. "What
