After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities -
Chapter 794
Chapter 794
Sylvia did not refuse the enthusiasm of the two socialites.
She graciously took a photo with Gracie and Lena, drank with them, and had a great conversation.
Lena said, "After my dad found out that I met you, he asked me to ask when you can make time for him to collaborate."
"Probably soon, but I'm busy lately. How about next month? How about a joint collection? Clothes, jewelry or bags - anything is fine."
Lena was thrilled to receive such an affirmative response from Sylvia.
Ashlyn clenched her highball glass tightly in her hand as she watched Sylvia flirt with the two socialites.
Mrs. Ritter sneered and said, "It's nothing special; she's just dazzled by Master Keturah's status."
Ashlyn felt defeated at the thought of competing against Jenna tomorrow; if she didn't win first place, then those socialites would laugh at her.
"Don't worry," Mrs. Ritter reassured Ashlyn, "Mr. Guzman won't let you lose and neither will Allie."
"Mom... do you have any good ideas?" Ashlyn looked hopefully at Mrs. Ritter.
Mrs. Ritter smiled mysteriously, "You'll replace out tomorrow."
She was exhausted from trying to come up with ways to beat Jenna, but if they could combine their efforts, then there was no way Jenna could win.
Being popular at this party meant nothing compared to winning Graley Piano Competition! The next morning when Jenna woke up early in the morning, sunlight filled her room.
She pulled back the curtains and saw a large rose garden in the hotel courtyard. The roses were in full bloom, and looking down at them gave off a unique charm. The faint scent of roses wafted into the room, making her feel refreshed.
Turning her head, she saw Brayden getting dressed by the bed. The golden sunlight enveloped him, making him even more handsome.
He buttoned up his shirt with an air of elegance that was typical of someone from a wealthy family. "Let's go out for breakfast."
His voice had a hint of magnetism to it.
Jenna nodded. "I'll freshen up first."
When she came out ten minutes later, they walked together to the restaurant where Sylvia, Franklin and Jasper were already eating breakfast. The restaurant was bustling with people who were all participants in the competition.
They were all dressed brightly and laughing as they ate.
Ashlyn and Mrs. Ritter were eating in a corner while Evelyn brought over a white buffet plate to join them at their table.
As Jenna walked in wearing her new modified dress that revealed her slender neck. Evelyn was surprised by how beautiful Jenna looked while Ashlyn felt envious thinking why would this little slut wear such an outfit? What was she trying to prove?
The three quickly finished their breakfast before passing by Jenna's table where Mrs. Ritter deliberately stopped for a moment with eyes filled with provocation. "Miss Shepherd looks so beautiful today like she's about to receive an award... but can you really win one?"
Jenna blushed at this comment since Sylvia had picked out this outfit for her. Before she could say anything, Sylvia spoke up, "Mrs. Ritter, how do you know if she can't win an award?"
"We'll just have to wait and see," Mrs. Ritter smirked before leaving with Ashlyn and Evelyn
Sylvia furrowed her brows slightly as some darkness crept into her eyes
Mrs. Ritter's behavior is too bizarre.
Does this woman have any new tricks up her sleeve again?
Franklin took her hand and said, "This woman is full of tricks and also arrogant."
Sylvia nodded and looked at Jenna, "We're about to compete. Be careful and don't fall for Mrs. Ritter's tricks."
Mrs. Ritter was sure to tamper with the competition.
Jenna's heart skipped a beat and she felt a moment of panic, but she quickly regained her composure.
She doesn't believe she will lose.
Brayden cheered her on, "Jenna, don't be afraid, we're all here with you."
After finishing breakfast, several people set off for the piano competition venue.
Inside the venue, the audience who came to watch had filled up the seats early on, and there were players queuing up to enter.
Jenna quickly walked over and stood at the back of the crowd, ending up standing right behind Ashlyn.
It was really a narrow road for enemies.
Ashlyn let out a low laugh, a hint of disdain in her eyes. "Jenna, you've shattered my pride. Now I'm going to crush yours even more."
She just went back to her room and changed into a dark purple formal dress with a long train. As she walked, the dress swayed gracefully, perfectly blending her delicate beauty and stunning elegance. This was her battle armor!
The million-dollar gown was worn for the final match of today.
Some of the audience couldn't help but whisper, "Is that Ashlyn, the favorite to win? Wow, her dress looks so expensive!"
"Yes, I heard that her popularity on social media is the highest."
"Other contestants do not have her strength and popularity."
"But I think Jenna plays better, and she looks so beautiful in the cheongsam she wore today."
"It evokes a sense of tenderness."
As it was the finals and also the first competition event today, the venue has been decorated very luxuriously.
Several crystal chandeliers hang intricately, casting sparkling shards of light onto the smooth as glass stage.
Melodious piano music wafted through the air, and complimentary hand fans are placed on every seat for the audience. It can be said that everything is done perfectly.
Mrs. Ritter sat in the audience seat, her slender and fair fingers intertwined inside her sleeve, feeling an uncontrollable excitement in her heart.
After all the pre-match procedures were completed, the host walked onto the stage. He gave a few opening remarks to warm up the crowd and then announced that the final match was about to begin. Each of the contestants who walked onto the stage was full of confidence. Unlike in previous matches where they were immediately declared winners or eliminated, this time only scores would be given and displayed on a large screen behind them.
Whoever had the highest average score would be crowned champion. At this moment, Lena was temporarily leading with 8. 5 points while Gracie trailed behind in second place with 8. 3 points.
Soon enough, Ashlyn broke this stalemate by scoring an impressive 8. 9 points! Like every other finalist, she had prepared two signature pieces for her performance.
When she finished playing both pieces, there was thunderous applause from the audience and Mrs. Ritter nodded approvingly at her performance.
Ashlyn smiled slightly and gracefully bowed to thank the judges before stepping offstage.
Jenna was ranked last and hadn't yet taken her turn on stage. There's a reason why each contestant's ranking is important - those who go first are unlikely to receive high scores because judges expect more impressive performances later on while those who go last may not receive high scores because judges have already grown tired of listening to similar sounds throughout the competition.
It's like perfume - middle notes are most alluring while top notes can be too strong and bottom notes almost disappear entirely; therefore being placed in between is most desirable.
Sylvia sat calmly in her seat but knew what Mrs. Ritter planned to do next; she couldn't help but worry for Jenna as she waited anxiously for her turn onstage hoping that Jenna could overcome this obstacle since there weren't many finalists left at this point so it became clear that only those within top three ranks had any real chance of winning now...
Finally it was Jenna's turn on stage as she chose two pieces: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 followed by Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. The audience below eagerly awaited their verdicts wondering if Ashlyn would remain champion or if someone else might take over soon enough...
But just as Jenna sat down at piano keys readying herself for performance... the conductor raised his baton signaling start... and suddenly orchestra began playing Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini instead! Jenna's mind went blank momentarily- This couldn't be happening!
How could these performers possibly mix up the order of two songs? They are professionals, and mistakes like this simply don't happen at a world-class competition! But soon enough, Jenna realized what was going on. And when Sylvia saw the conductor's baton come down hard, her eyes narrowed in anticipation. Here it comes!
