Chapter

Under the scrutinizing eyes of everyone around us, Leo tightened his grip on my hand and led me out of the hall

His grip was firm, almost possessive, as if he feared that if he let go, I might slip away from him

As we passed Narik, Leo shot him a frosty glare, his eyes full of unspoken warnings.

But Narik, ever the rebel, only shrugged indifferently.

He seemed unfazed by the tension in the air, as though he thrived in such chaos.

Andrew said in a deep voice, "Narik, Look at you now, how do you deserve to be one of the Sivermoon her? You hurry back wit me

Without so much as a glance at his father, Narik pulled on his helmet, hopped on his motorcycle, and sped away, leaving Andrew in a dout of exhaus fumes. Inside Leo's car was silent.

The atmosphere in the car was heavy, filled with unspoken words and lingering doubts.

The faint scent of Aria's perfume still lingered in the air, tainting the space around us.

It was sweet, almost sickening, and it gnawed at me, stirring a deep sense of unease.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, trying to escape the cloying scent, but it seemed to cling to the very fabric of the car.

As I turned slightly, something caught my eye.

Chapter 74

A small, glimmering object was lying on the seat, catching the light as it reflected off the car's interior.

I reached for it, and as I picked it up, I felt very sarcastic.

It was a diamond-studded nail piece, unmistakably belonging to Aria.

"This must be her doing," I thought, turning the tiny object over in my hand.

The realization dawned on me-she had left it here on purpose, hoping I would replace it.

er aim was clear: to spark an argument between Leo and me, to drive a wedge so deep that it would tear us apart.

I smiled slightly.

This wasn't the first time she'd pulled this trick, she'd angered me over and over again, trying to make me feel like my heart was in my mouth.

Did she really think that my heart would be weak enough to be crushed by something so trivial?

Without a second thought, I rolled down the window and tossed the nail piece out into the night.

It glittered briefly in the moonlight before disappearing into the darkness.

Leo glanced at me, his voice tinged with concern. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," I replied smoothly, though my mind was already racing.

"Just drop me here. I could call a taxi back to the apartment by myself."

Leo was silent for a moment and pulled over to the side of the road. Just as I was about to push the car door open and get out, Leo surprised me by pulling me into his arms.

His scent surrounded me, warm and comforting.

It was a rare moment of vulnerability, a brief reprieve from the constant tension that surrounded us.

His deep voice rumbled in my ear, soft but filled with a raw honesty that left no room for doubt.

"When we were going to the amusement park, it was my father who arranged for Aria to get into my car. As soon as she got in, I told her to keep her distance. When she tried to get closer, I pushed her away. Liz, please don't abandon me." His words caught me off guard, and I stiffened slightly in his arms.

"Abandon you? Leo, it was you who made me suffer, and I want to escape because of that. Because of you."

My voice was colder than I'd expected, with a hint of sarcasm that I rarely showed.

Leo tightened his hold on me, his next words heavy with emotion.

"Forgive me, Liz, I can't share you with anyone, not even my brother."

I sighed softly, pulling back just enough to look into his eyes.

"Narik is just a friend I met at school. I didn't know he was your brother. As for what he did, it was just a prank-a misguided attempt to help me."

He seemed to relax a bit at my explanation, though the jealousy in his eyes hadn't completely faded.

"I just can't stand the thought of anyone else being close to you. You're mine, Liz. Only mine."

His possessiveness was overwhelming, but there was something about it that made my heart flutter.

The depth of emotion he showed for me these days surprised me from time to time.
