Chapter 13
I agreed inexplicably.
People around me said that she was playing the doormat. I never paid attention to the gossip and never defended her.
I thought I could follow my plan and move forward step by step.
For me, the most important thing was my career.
I thought Harper was just the flower in my life.
In the first year or two we were together, I was busy with work.
She was like a gentle rain that moistens everything silently, gradually permeating my life.
I gradually got used to it and paid more attention to her.
We had a better understanding of each other.
Gradually, I could even be joked about as a model boyfriend.
I thought things would go on like this until one day, she turned her back to me.
Maybe we’d argue like before.
I would rationally resolve it, and things got back to usual.
But the once warm home became empty. After I was rejected several times, I realized that something was different.
I reflected on myself. Was everything I thought correct?
I began to review the secret crush she had mentioned.
I went to our college to inquire about her.
I explained to my old classmates that I cherished her
I was paying the price for my previous arrogance.
very much.
After a long period of time, I became determined that Harper was the only one I truly loved. It turned out that loving someone would make me irrational.
Because of liking or love, I was willing to compromise.
Harper left me.
But she had always been in my mind.
I watched her livestream.
I secretly help her promote her flower shop.
On rainy days, I was particularly worried about her safety, so I used my connections to ask local friends to take care of her for me.
She was living a better life.
“It will be alright“, I said to myself.
I would always wait for her. Perhaps, one day she would pass by me and hold my hand again. I was on my way to Westin again. Hope she will accept my gift this time.
