Chapter 4 Anger

Leah was surprised by the familiar voice.

She looked up and saw Quentin. Shocked, she whispered, "Quentin?"

Quentin found Leah's voice strangely beautiful for the first time.

Before he could respond, Leah's words reached him.

"Am I drunk? Why am I imagining this jerk? How disappointing!"

Harry chuckled behind Quentin, but quickly stifled his laughter because Quentin's rage was starting to intimidate him.

Quentin shifted his gaze from Harry to Leah.

"Leah!" Quentin shouted and tightened his grip on her wrist.

Feeling the pain, Leah glanced up to see Quentin's somber face. Leah realized it wasn't an illusion.

"So it's real? Damn it!" She lowered her head and muttered, and Quentin heard every word clearly.

He exhaled softly and didn't bother arguing with a drunk woman.

"Where are you staying? I'll take you home," he asked in a deep voice.

"No need!" Leah sobered up a bit. She sneered and shook off Quentin's hand.

Quentin narrowed his eyes. "You gotta thank me for stepping in. You know what he spiked that wine with?"

Leah was surprised. She hadn't expected the man to have bad intentions.

She had never planned on drinking the wine, but she didn't need to tell Quentin that now.

Staying away from Quentin was her first priority.

"So what? We're already divorced. Move your ass and leave me alone, okay?"

"Watch your language, Leah!" Quentin's expression darkened, "You need--"

Before he could finish, a gentle voice interrupted from the entrance.

"Leah, come here."

Hearing the voice, Leah immediately stood up. She walked past Quentin and threw herself into Ethan's arms. "Why are you here?" she asked.

"To pick you up." Ethan gently patted her back.

"We need to take Janet too." Leah pointed at Janet, passed out on the bar.

"Alright." Ethan put his arm around Leah's shoulder and glanced at his bodyguard.

The bodyguard nodded and helped Janet up.

"You're so sweet," Leah said wearily, leaning uncomfortably against Ethan.

Ethan gently fixed her hair. He and Leah made their way to the exit, then back at

Quentin couldn't describe the feeling, but anger surged in his heart now.

"Quentin? Are you angry?!" Harry exclaimed in disbelief as he noticed the anger in Quentin's eyes.

Quentin looked away. With a frown, he replied, "Great imagination."

Harry rolled his eyes, knowing Quentin was pretending.

After pausing for a few seconds, Quentin approached the man who had served Leah the wine.

"Who were you trying to invite?" he growled.

Under Quentin's intimidating gaze, the man paled.

"I... I was just... joking," he stammered.

Quentin gave the man a cold glare.

Then he waved his hand. "Come here."

Two black-clad bodyguards emerged from the shadows.

Quentin lifted his chin and said, "Make him drink this special wine on the table. My treat!"
