Chapter 124

Skyler had been holding onto some heavy feelings, never replaceing the courage to voice them to Zayn. But this time, she just couldn't keep them inside any longer.

The moment she got in the car, she couldn't help but ask, "Zayn, were you being honest with me last night?

"Yeah," Zayn responded, his expression unreadable as he focused on driving.

Skyler bit her lip tightly, barely managing to suppress her urge to yell. After calming herself down for a while, she spoke up with a sense of resignation, "Zayn, we're about to get engaged, and we'll be married

soon...

Skyler fought back tears as she continued, "You're making it so hard for me, Zayn. I know you can't forget

about Willow, and I don't want to force you to let go of anyone. But it really hurts knowing you still have feelings for someone else."

"Skyler, you're going to be my wife." Zayn's voice turned cold, with a touch of disdain. "As for Willow, she means nothing to me."

Hearing the chill and displeasure in Zayn's voice, Skyler tactfully kept quiet. Yet, inside, her heart was still

in turmoil.

So, was he basically saying that even if they tied the knot, he wouldn't let go of Willow?

And here Skyler was, holding the title of Mrs. Carter, yet he wouldn't even touch her.

What was the difference between this and being a widow?

Skyler didn't want to live such a miserable life.

How she wished Willow would just die.

But despite Willow suffering from that dreadful disease, she was still well and alive. Skyler couldn't bear the wait any longer. She was desperate for Willow to meet her end. When Willow got back to Bordello, she found Kenan waiting by her apartment door. Kenan's face lit up with relief and joy as soon as he saw her.

"Willow, where have you been? I've been trying to call you but couldn't get through."

"My phone accidentally broke. Mr. Dawson, what do you need from me?"

"I came to..." Kenan's words trailed off as he noticed the scratches on Willow's hand.

He nervously grabbed her hand. "Willow, did you hurt yourself? Tell me, did someone give you trouble again?"

"No," Willow said lightly, not wanting Kenan to worry.

"I just went out to buy some things,

and the road was slippery slipped

and bruised my legs and hands a bit. It's nothing serious."

"I think we should go to the hospital, Willow," Kenan persisted.

Willow chuckled softly, "It's just a

little scrape. There's,

ere's no need for al

hospital visit, Mr. Dawson. I'm not

that fragile."

Upon hearing Willow's reassurance, Kenan felt a bit embarrassed for overreacting and scratched his head sheepishly.

Remembering the purpose behind his visit, he quickly spoke up, "Willow, I'm taking you somewhere."

Without giving Willow any chance to refuse, he grabbed her hand and headed for the elevator.

Assuming Kenan was simply taking

her out for a stroll to relax, Wittown was surprised when he led her to ΕΠ
