Chapter 94

Having said that, Willow slammed the door shut. She could no longer hold it in. With her back against the door, she collapsed to the ground. It was as if all her energy had been drained from her body..

Aaron couldn't make it. Given his weak physique, he couldn't survive the fall from such a high cliff. Since she also couldn't make it down the cliff alive, she couldn't replace his body.

Willow hugged her legs close to her chest, choking back her sobs. How could her Aaron, her sweet little Aaron, be gone in a split second?

She wasn't a good mother. Aaron had been living with her in that dungeon ever since his premature birth.

She'd never managed to let him spend a day in bliss. Yet, he never blamed her for that. He even told her she was the best mother in this world. He loved her dearly.

Other children would've lost their sanity if they had to live in a dungeon every single day. Turning into a lunatic or developing depression wouldn't be surprising for them.

However, Aaron stayed optimistic and cheerful. He seemed to be capable of ridding the world of its gloom. He really was different from other kids.

While kids aged four to six remained oblivious to most things, he had been sensible since he was a toddler. He had the sensibility to offer her bread first when he was just one year old.

She lamented Aaron's poor fate. Despite his kindness, optimism, and courage, fate never favored him. Misfortune had swallowed him, and his life withered away before he even had a chance to grow up. Heartbroken, Willow lifted her head. She desperately wanted to bawl her eyes out, but to her dismay, she couldn't.

Though she was awash with grief, her eyes seemed to have dried up. She was unable to shed even a tear. The most she could do was whimper like an injured beast, lashing out the sorrow within her. Sometimes, Willow thought fate was ridiculous. It always plummeted one to the depths of hell once they saw a glimmer of hope.

She was overjoyed after painstakingly saving up a million. Finally seeing a sliver of hope in her life, she thought she could afford Aaron's surgery at last. Yet, the kidnappers threatened to kill him if she couldn't pay the ransom.

She compromised and sold herself off, earning the ransom sum. Trembling with anticipation, she had clutched onto the bank card like it was her last straw, only to be greeted with Aaron's predicament. Willow could never embrace him again.

She sobbed, clasping her hands over her mouth. She clutched tightly onto Aaron's photo, her grip so firm that she nearly embedded the photo into her body. It was as if her breathing depended on the photo.

After Aaron was pushed off the cliff, Zayn ordered a few helicopters to search for him. His assistant, Liam, brought Skyler back with his men.

The kidnappers assumed that they

could flee in safety with Skyler as

their hostage. However, they were all arrested by Liam except for their leader. They were all taken to the police station.

Willow remained curled up in her crib with Aaron's photo. She might ven died from isolation if it weren't for Nicola coming to keep her company.

She finally received news about Aaron the next morning from Skyler.
