Chapter 100

"Matthew, please go visit Aaron, okay?"

The car engine was revved up. Apparently, Matthew didn't intend to stop even if Willow stood in his way.

Realizing his intentions, Willow refused to leave and blocked his path. She owed Aaron too much and yearned to fulfill his wish.

Matthew thought Willow was incorrigible. He stepped on the accelerator, intending to run over her

"Matthew, stop! Let's talk! You-"

Two security guards dragged Willow away in the nick of time. Matthew's car whizzed past her, and she barely managed a narrow escape from a collision.

Scowling at her, the younger security guard shoved her to the ground. "Get lost! Mr. Mayer already has a girlfriend. Yet, you're still whoring over him! Just how shameless are you?"

The older security guard, however, looked at her with pity. "Miss, please get up! That's just how Mr. Mayer is. Besides Ms. Foster, he won't spare a glance at any other woman! Stop degrading yourself, and don't make things difficult for us as well!"

The security guard rambled on, but his words didn't seem to get through Willow. She laid limp on the ground in a daze, succumbing to the waves of pain washing over her as her body spasmed uncontrollably. She seemed to hear someone singing "Little Star". It reminded her of Aaron and how fare was never in his favor.

Willow had no idea how she managed to drag herself back to Bordello.

She spat out a mouthful of blood the moment she reached home. She knew her end was nearing, and perhaps the next few days would be her last. Still, she had to fulfill Aaron's wish before her death came. She knew how daunting it was, but she just had to go all the way to make it work.

The security guards

is outside the Mayer Tower's basement probably remembered her. She bet she couldn't even get in next time. Thus, she had to come out with another way to meet Matthew.

As Willow racked her brains to figure out a way to meet him, she suddenly noticed the gold-lined invitation card on her bedside table. It was an invitation to the Winter Charity Gala in Havenpoint.

Her status didn't earn her the invitation. In fact, it was Kenan who gave it to her back then. He promised to bring her and Aaron to the gala to expand

Aaron's horizons.

Now, although they had lost the opportunity to do so, the invitation granted her a chance to meet Matthew. He needed to attend a grand event like this.

The gala took place at the Chateau. Willow tidied herself up promptly and headed over. It was easy for her to

get in with the invitation.

She had no interest in engaging in any conversation with the socialites and elites. She was only here for Matthew.

There was no sight of him in the banquet hall, so she made her way through the corridors, hoping to locate him.

When she passed through a secluded

and dimly lit corridor, she was caught off guard by Skyler and another man's voices.
