"Shift back” Adryan says to Vince for what felt like the thousandth time,but the reply he got was unfortunately that of the numerous times hehad asked the question or more like ordered.

“Not until she wakes up’ came his usual reply.

It's been five hours since everything went down and Jade had beenunconscious all this while, Vince was getting worried and paranoid asshe wasn't waking up, Hence the reason why he wasn't letting Adryantake back control and he wouldn't until she wakes up and he see's forhimself that she was okay.

It was a task on Adryan's part to hold Vince back from taking fullcontrol of him, and from attacking the pack doctor and other packmembers whenever they took a step in her direction. Vince wouldimmediately growl at them like a rabid dog until they got the messageand stepped back.

Thankfully, Blaine, the pack doctor had said that she was just in shockand it would take her some time to wake up.

Vince's huge hulking frame was resting beside the bed she laid on.Keeping watch and occasionally staring at her from time to time.

"Quit it" Adryan chides.

“Quit what?" Vince questions.

"Quit staring at her like an obsessed creep”

“She's our mate, and I can stare at her as much as I want, as long as Iwant to’ Vince snaps back. There were times when Adryan wanted tothrottle Vince, because he was someone other than Jade, who alwaystalked back and angered him, which is kind of funny because Vince ishis other half, his wolf. So basically he was angering himself.

"Stupid Dog" Adryan says annoyed.

'Uptight Asshole’ Vince counters back.

"Mu-" before Adryan could insult his wolf back he hears the rustling ofcovers, his sharp ears immediately picking up the small noise. Vince sitsupright on his front paws, hoping for her to wake up any minute.

It isn't until a full minute later, when Jade finally wakes up. Opening hereyes and realizing that she was in her room in Adryan's house.

She sits upright with a slight groan. She doesn't notice his presenceuntil Vince decides to whine, causing her head whip so fast in hisdirection, he thought she might've twisted it."

Her eyes widen in horror as her green eyes catch his blood red ones. Agasp leaves her lips and she suddenly scrambles away from the bed in ahurry.

Vince watched as she ran towards the bedroom door, but in her panicshe hadn't realized that she would have to twist the keys below thedoor knob to open it fully, instead of just twisting the knob. Adryan haddone it on purpose because he knew the moment she laid eyes on himthat she would run far away from him, he had decided to double lockthe door, because in her panic she wouldn't think about twisting thekeys.

When her attempts came up futile, she rushes towards the door thatled to the balcony, only to realize that it was completely locked, sheherself had done it so Adonis wouldn't slip away when she wasn'tpaying attention.

Jade had woken up confused but that immediately turned into fearwhen she spotted a pair of glowing red eyes staring back at her.

She leans her head on the wooden door, her shoulders slumping indefeat.

"It's okay" she tells herself, she didn't want to risk turning back andthink about the other person in the room along with her. She had tokeep herself from having a panic attack and remain calm.

“I can smell her fear. She's afraid of us.’ Vince says, rejection andsadness clear in his voice.

"You need to give me back control, Vince" Adonis says with seriousness."But-" Vince starts to say but Adryan cuts him off.

"She's afraid of us. It's too much for her to take all at once. So, likeViolet said, Slow baby steps" Vince contemplates for a few moments, Ifit wasn't for her soft breaths, he would've thought Jade was tattoo, forshe wasn't moving an inch from her rested position on the door.

"Fine" Vince huffs, finally giving into Adryan’s request.

Adryan could feel his red eyes switch back to the usual ocean blueones, his talons changing back to fingers, and finally Adryan felt like hewas back in his body after a long time, and it was, since Adryan hadnever ever let Vince out for so long.

"Thank you" Adryan says with gratitude.

Her body tenses as soon as she feels his presence behind her. Shecould his hot breath on her neck.

"Jade" he calls out, Adryan had immediately noticed how she hadtensed up the moment she felt his presence near her.

Hesitantly he places a hand on her shoulder, he felt her turn rigid at histouch.

"Jade, can you please turn back" he pleads. Her fear in a way cut somepart of him. Only he knew how it felt when everyone in the pack lookedat him with fear, not because he was their Alpha, but because they werescared for their own lives, worrying about the moment the matelessAlpha would loose his cool and kill one of them, and now here was hismate, who even refused to look at him, which made Adryan and Vinceboth feel hideous.

Jade slowly turns back, surprising Adryan. When fully turns to face him,Adryan notices that her eyes were squeezed shut.

Adryan leans his head on hers.

Both of their breaths mingling together, it was only now that they'dboth noticed the tingles that spread throughout their body.

Adryan lifts a finger, and trails it down her face.

"You are a Lycan" she states, her scared self oddly calm under hertouch.

"I'm" he confirms.

"How?" She asks him in confusion, because as far as she couldremember, Adryan was a werewolf when she first met him three yearsago, but the current situation was confusing her in many ways on howthis could be possible.

"It's a bit complicated” he says. "Maybe I'll tell you some other time,when you're not trying to run away from me."

He opens his eyes to replace emerald green eyes staring back at him. Bothof their heads still leaned against each other.

He moves away her flyaway hairs, his actions causing her breath tostutter as she felt the tingles on her body. Jade closes her eyes at hissoft touch.

Adryan moves back to look at her face, his eyes drinking in her featuresand being caught up in her beauty. He trails a finger on her lips."Adryan?" Jade call out.

"Hmm" Adryan hmm's back in response, he felt himself inhale in hersweet and addictive scent.

"Could you please put on some pants. You're um...You're naked" Jadewhispers the last words, her cheeks turning red toward the end.

Her words immediately capture his attention.

“Shit’ he thought. He was butt naked, his huge frame almost pressedagainst her short one.

"You better hide your goods, man’ Vince's voice chimes inside his head."Now is not the time Vince" Adryan barely grits out, half embarrassedhimself.

Adryan could feel himself turn a bit red. Just as he was about to moveaway, the door to the room twists open.

"Adryan, I need-" came a voice only to stop halfway through when theytake in the scene before them.

Adeena felt slight anger and jealousy spread through her at the scenetaking place in front of her eyes. Seeing Adryan and Jade so close toeach other, literally pressed up against each other made her blood boilwith rage but icing on the cake was that Adryan was butt naked.

Before Adeena could stare at his exposed self even more, Adryan hadmoved and placed Jade in front him so that now she was covering him,well not all of him since he was taller and bigger than her physically,but her position covered the parts which he wanted to cover from anyprying eyes.

"Did you need anything Adeena?" Adryan questions.

Adeena doesn't reply to his words but her eyes move from Jade's toAdryan, back and forth for a few moments.

Jade still looked like a deer caught in headlights, with her eyes turningto the size of soccer balls as she realizes the awkward butcompromising situation Adeena had found her and Adryan in.

"What is happening here?" Adeena asks with her eyes narrowed.
