Coming Home Chapter 5

MAKENZIE

A few months later, mid-May...

lonce heard a song that complained about how miserable a hot summer was in the city. The few days around Travis and Holden's graduation were compounded misery. The temperature was hot, the company was miserable, the song was right. Every time Holden and I were in close proximity we had to pretend we tolerated each other's company. And we were in proximity a lot. Our parents were friends. We did everything from pre-graduation brunch to attending the ceremony to post-graduation dinner together.

After the ceremony, we had to stand around in the heat waiting for Travis and Holden to replace us. Mom was shaking with excitement when she saw Travis approaching. She started to reach out to welcome him in a congratulatory hug.

A loud squeal interrupted Mom's trajectory and some well-dressed co-ed launched herself at my brother. She planted a kiss on him, and he seemed to consume her face. The stunned look on Mom's face distracted me from seeing Holden as he strode up. When I finally did see him, he had a huge grin on his face and was shaking his father's hand.

"Congratulations." Mom hugged Holden before Travis had managed to detach himself from the woman he was kissing.

Since Mom hugged him, I didn't think it would be a big deal if I gave Holden one too. After all, he had graduated. I had known him for years, no one would suspect anything.

I wrapped my arms around his neck. Holden wrapped one arm around me.

"Congratulations," I whispered into his ear. "I love you."

His lips grazed my cheek, and then I was alone on my own two feet.

Travis joined us, his girlfriend under his arm. "Everyone, this is Eve. Eve, these are my parents."

Eve was in the way, and I could tell Mom was disappointed that she was only giving her son a side hug.

"Will you be joining us for dinner, Eve?" Mom asked.

Travis had said nothing about having a girlfriend. Every time she was out of earshot, my mom was talking in low angry whispers. How dare he not tell us she would be joining us? Would she be coming to Nantucket as well? This was family time; was there anything she needed to be made aware of?

It gave me the opportunity to flirt a little more openly with Holden since Travis was distracted. At the end of dinner, we had to say goodbye.

"See you in a week," he whispered after he grabbed me in for a hug.

I left with Mom and Dad the next day for the summer house on Nantucket. Travis, without Eve, would be there in a few weeks. He had a big interview before he could join us.

I had to wait even longer for Holden.

"I'm going to head to the beach," I told Mom.

It was another day that I was going to sit and stare at my phone waiting for a text message from Holden letting me know he was on the island. I didn't want to do it while hiding out in my room avoiding Travis. And I didn't want to keep checking my phone where Mom would ask me why.

I took the car and parked next to the beach. I checked my phone.

"Landed."

I couldn't stop smiling. I put the car back into drive and headed straight to the airport.

Holden was waiting for me.

He slid into the passenger seat and immediately kissed me. "My parents aren't here yet. Want to fool around?"

I giggled and smacked his leg. "You are incorrigible. And yes, I want to fool around. It's been forever, and I've missed you."

He squeezed my thigh as I drove.

"I've been about to bust. If you hadn't snuck down the week before graduation, I don't know how I would have survived. Makenzie, I have missed you."

The hand on my knee roamed and he stroked my arm and caressed my b****t.

I wiggled as he tickled me. "Stop, you're distracting me."

"Then drive faster," he said as he leaned over and kissed my neck.

I drove faster. I couldn't stop laughing as we raced from the car and into his family's empty summer house. If I had been worried that maybe they were there, the dust coverings on the furniture eased my mind. Holden held my hand as we raced up the stairs and into his bedroom.

I fell against him as he tried to open the door. He held me close as he leaned against the door as it swung open.

"Of all the girls I thought about bringing up here."

"Shut up and kiss me."

He did, and more. His hands were on my body, and I wanted all of him. The thinness of my bathing suit under the cover-up I wore made it feel as if there was nothing between my skin and Holden's hands. With a few deft moves of those hands, Holden removed my bathing suit.

It took a bit longer for him to get rid of his clothes. Before he got rid of his pants, he pulled a condom from his wallet. As soon as he did it was a reunion of our skin. My breasts against his chest, my fingers caressing him. His hands holding and kneading my thighs, my b**t, my breasts.

Holden's lips claimed mine, and I returned the pressure. I nibbled at his lower lip until he let out a low moan. "Makenzie, I have missed this."

"I love you," I told him.

We lowered onto the bed. Holden pressed me down against the mattress. I wrapped my legs around his hips. His cock was hard and hot as he stroked it against my pussy. I was more than wet enough, ready for him.

I fumbled for the condom packet and tore it open. Holden lifted onto his knees, presenting his beautiful, perfect c**k to me. I rolled the condom down his length, reveling in the ability to touch this amazing man who loved me and let me love him.

I lifted my hips, encouraging him to stroke into me. Holden took his time, teasing my body. His kisses trailed across my jaw and down my neck. He cupped my b****t in his hand and pinched my n****e between his fingers. Whimpering, I arched against his hand. I threaded my hand into his hair and held his head to my other b****t.

He teased and sucked my other n****e. Teeth scraped against the tender skin. It was perfect, it was what I needed from him. I rocked my hips. The only way this could be any more perfect was if he were in me, filling me.

With a groan, he shifted his hips and slid into me. I held on as he thrust into. I cried out with the pleasure that was Holden stroking into me. It was perfect.

We rocked, crashing our hips together. My focus was lost, and I saw stars as my body became overwhelmed with sensation. Holden continued to drive into me relentlessly.

"Holden, I can't, I can't..." I couldn't form words as everything clenched. My muscles threatened to seize in a riot of spasms that would overtake my system.

"That's it, keep going baby." Holden laughed as he held himself above me, pressing in over and over.

I fought the urge to not move, I wanted to lift my hips, to help Holden, to let him feel as good as I was feeling. I didn't know how much I was or wasn't able to do. The o****m rolled me under like a wave washing over the shore. I saw lights and had to fight to gasp for breath.

The way Holden touched me was beyond magic, beyond perfection. The rhythm of his thrusts was a stark contrast to the inconstant twitching of my internal muscles. He continued to thrust until he pressed hard into me. The laugh in his voice turned to a roar as he

came.

We lay tangled together until the afternoon light turned to twilight.

"I should head home," I said in a sleepy voice.

Holden tightened his arm around my middle. "Stay."

"You know I can't. I'm supposed to be at the beach."

"But instead, you're in bed with me, and I want to keep you. Can't you call your mom and tell her you're spending the night somewhere?"

"You mean like at Heidi's?"

"Who? Oh right, your pretend friend so we could sneak around. Yeah, why not?"

"But your parents?"

"My folks aren't showing up until the twentieth."

I sat up and stared at him. "Are you serious? Holden, today is the twentieth."

He shook his head. "No, it's not, it's the... oh shit. You've got to go."

I kissed him and pulled my bathing suit on. I was out the door and in my car faster than I knew I could move. I walked inside through the back door to our summer house a few minutes later.

"Oh, good, Makenzie, you're home. Run upstairs and get cleaned up. I'll need some help getting dinner together. The Wells will be over for dinner."

I gulped and tried not to stare.

"You know we always have a big dinner to celebrate the beginning of the season," she reminded me.

I smiled and skipped upstairs. I'd see Holden again in a few hours.
