Still Bethany's POV

Dominic is a stubborn man...

How on earth did I even get mated to this douchbag, why me, why me?

I love the guy, trust me, I adore him, but sometimes he can be so mean and stubborn, I mean, he is a very, very stubborn man. I still can't believe that he wants to put my life e in danger, he wouldn't even hear what I have to say, he is hell-bent on this mission and he isn't taking no for an answer. If I don't follow along with his plans, then he would relocate my family to the castle so they can face the consequences of my mistakes. Sometimes I feel like punching this guy, he knows how much I care about my family, and that is why he keeps using them against me. How can I let him bring my mom and sister into this crazy Castle when we still have those stupid moles among us. At least in the Alphas lodge, my father has a bit of control there so I'm pretty sure that he can take care of their safety, but out here, I won't be able to protect them and when king Ashford replaces out that I am not truly on his side, he would come after me and since Dominic would never let him get to me, he would go after my mom and my sister. I just can't let that happen, I can't allow it. My father may be a complete a*****e, but I still believe that there is still a bit of sanity left in him. My mom is his mate, his Luna and I'm sure that there was a time when he loved her deeply from his heart. he won't let them kill his Luna and daughters, right? What the hell am I even saying?

My father is not who I thought he was, I would never have imagined my dad yelling at my mom, let alone hitting and hurting her, for all I know, he could even be the one to give the orders to kill my mom and my sister. My best bet is to listen to Dominic because he is the only one that can help me understand what is going on with Ciara. Yes, he is acting like a dirtbag, but at the end of the day, he is always right. We need to get this done as soon as possible, with the moles gone, my mom and sister would move in here along with the Alphas. I'll make sure my father is kept far away from them and I'll then focus on being closer to Ciara. Maybe if I get closer to her, she may be more inclined to open up to me and tell me why she blames herself for everything that is happening and why she is in so much pain.

"You can't expect her to open up to you at such short notice, you need to give it time, don't forget that she just heard about the death of her mom, that could be the reason she is feeling hurt," Dominic explained softly, when he finally calmed down, and that is immediately after I accepted to follow his lead and go along with his plans. after I told him about Ciara's situation. He is being too calm about it and I don't fancy his calmness at all. It is my responsibility to look after her, she was put in my care by her sister and I seem to have let her down, I just don't know what to do about it.

"This is not a joke, Dom. What I felt when I touched Ciara isn't just a feeling of hurt. What I felt was pain, and it was so severe that it hurt me so much when I made contact with her. I'm telling you, Dom, there is something wrong with her, I can feel it in my guts, I could sense a strange aura when I was around her, it's not hard to realize that she is not the same Ciara I used to know. Take it from me, and believe me when I say that something is wrong with her. I spent so much time with these girls, they were practically the only family I had while I was in the big city, I know Ciara very well and I am pretty certain that something is wrong with her. You need to help me check it out, Dom, you have to touch this girl and see what I'm talking about." I pleaded with him, holding his hands and looking into his eyes pleadingly. But he wasn't moved by my words, instead, he had this mischievous look on his face that made me know that he has something up his sleeve.

"Hmmm... You want me to touch her and know what she is feeling, heh? So tell me, Beth, where would you like me to touch her, should I kiss and caress her in the open, or would you prefer it if I took her to bed instead? Although I must warn you, I am not gentle on the bed when I'm with a girl that is not my speck." He let out teasingly, making me punch him in the stomach for making such a stupid joke. He only chuckled loudly, making me feel even more stupid. Gosh, he can be so annoying if he chooses to. "Quit playing around Dom, this is not a joke, something is going on with Ciara, I mean it." I let out frustratedly. Why the hell is he joking around can't he see that this is not something to joke with, can't he see that she could be sick or dying? "All I can see is you bringing up so many meaningless reasons to delay our current mission. Well, if you must know, I have a very important mission going on right now and I don't need any distractions. I'll advise you to stop trying to ruin this mission by coming up with silly excuses." He told me with a raised eyebrow, making me go wild in rage.

"Are you f*****g insane, Dominic? I just f*****g agreed to go on this deadly mission of yours, why on earth would I still try to sabotage the mission when my own life is on the line. Ciara is not feeling okay, I can feel it, Dom, I have to help her before she slips into depression. She is in your Castle Dom, she came here on your invitation, if anything happens to her, it would be on you. Please help me look into this issue, please my love," I begged once more, trying to plead to his sense of reason. "Fine, I'll look into it. But that would be after we complete this mission, Beth. You have wasted so much time already, I think what you need to do is to calm down and study these plans already, I need you to focus on the mission so you don't make a mistake that could put your life in danger. It is happening tomorrow, my love, I can't let you risk your life on something that could very well be a false alarm. I promise, once we carry out this mission, once we succeed and get back here, I would invite the pack Doctor Mr. Fred and I'll get him to check on her and make sure she is okay. I won't let anything happen to her, I promise. But if you don't get prepared for tomorrow, something may happen to you and I won't take it lightly, so please come with me let us go to my office and go over the plans until you memorize them, please my love, this mission is important to every one of us. "And you promise to get doctor Fred to check up on her when we get back tomorrow?" I asked him.

"I promise, my love. She is going to be fine, I won't let anything happen to her." He responded with a warm smile. I responded with a smile and a nod, then I let him lead me to his office to get prepared for the mission. I still can't get my mind away from Ciara's case, but there is nothing that I can do about it right now, so I just have to go over his plans and make sure I come back alive tomorrow, then I can focus on Ciara and replace out why she is so hurt and angry. I have already agreed on this mission and king Ashford has informed his boys about it already. The only problem is that I have no idea where this exchange will be taking place, and I have no idea how king Ashford expects me to move everything in that cave into the hospital emergency van. When I asked him about it, he only told me to improvise, so Dominic had told me to spread the news that I and some of my friends would be camping outside the Castle and he instructed Carl to make sure that the van is available for me, he did that in the dinner hall, making sure that everyone in the hall heard him giving out the instructions. He gave me a campsite that he thought would be a perfect place for the exchange and he asked me to relay the information to king Ashford.

I did exactly as he instructed, I informed king Ashford of my plans to go camping with some friends and I gave him the location of the campsite. At first, he kicked against it because he doesn't want me to involve anyone that he doesn't trust, but when I told him that I'm only going with Harriet and my personal omega and that I need their help in moving the stuff into the van, he had no choice but to agree with my plan because he doesn't want anyone of his boys to risk getting caught. All I need to do right now is to study the plan carefully and replace out who Dominic had chosen that spot and I also need to know how he plans to save me and the girls I'm going with and how he plans to apprehend the moles. Dominic was right, after all, the mission is taking place tomorrow and I don't know anything, I really need to focus on the mission so I don't get us all killed.
