Alpha Dominic
Chapter 136

Still Bethany's POV

We took a while at the morgue because Ciara wanted to know every damn thing that happened to her mom. By the time we got back home, we were all too tired to do anything else. We've been out all day and it's been one hell of a day. I excused myself immediately and went up to my room to take a long nap. My head is whirling with different thoughts and questions that need answers. A part of me wants to go over to Clara's room and ask her what she is up to, but I am scared for my dear life. I don't want her to think that I am stalking her, I don't want her to see me as a threat, I don't know how she thinks these days, we can't even tell what her problems are. She could think that I want to sabotage her plans, she could come after me if she perceives me as a threat and I won't be able to defend myself because she is way stronger than I am, she could kill me easily.

I decided to inform doctor Fred and see if he has any idea what could be going through her mind. He picked up my call immediately because he knows what we are dealing with here. He also tried to figure out what was going on with her, but he gave me the phone number and office address of a shrink that he knows in the big city. He asked me to talk to him about her case, he even suggested that I try to convince Ciara to visit the shrink as well. I told him I'll try, but deep within me, I know that I won't try it at all, not a chance. I can't do or say anything to make her snap at me and lose her control, the only help I can render to her is to talk to the shrink on her behalf and replace out if he would have some advice or recommendation that could help her.

I spent almost one hour talking to him and I got a few tips that could help her, he said she shouldn't be left alone for a long time, except she is sleeping. She needs to be engaged in lots and lots of activities so she doesn't have much time on her hand to think about her past experiences. He ad iced me to take out anything that could remind her of Fabius, but I know that is not possible at all. She would freak out and attack me if I try taking that iPad from her. The guys must be too tired to hang out with her because we all had a hectic day. I decided to go to her room and keep her company for a while, on second thought, I decided to pick up a few of my stuff and go over there so we can share her room. I need her company as much as she needs mine, besides, I think the shrink is right, we shouldn't leave her alone, she needs us and she won't be sneaking off into the woods on her own either.

"W... what are you doing here?" she stammered in surprise when I knocked on her door. She kept looking at my hands, eyeing my clothes suspiciously.

"Well, I'm moving in with you," I told her pointedly, pushing past us to go inside her room.

"And why on earth would you want to do that?" She let out aghast.

"Well, the thing is, I want to use you as an excuse so I don't get to share a room with Dominic." I lied. She raised her eyebrows at me in question, urging me to explain more.

"Dominic would be arriving tomorrow and I know how tricky he can be, he may trick Lorenzo to let him stay here, and if that happens he would be made to share a room with me because he is my mate and I don't want that. But if I'm already sharing a room with you, then I won't have to share a room with him," I explained calmly, hoping and praying that she believes my lies. She had this mischievous look on her face and I assumed that all was going well. I thought she believes my stories, I never expected the question she asked next.

"Does this have anything to do with the call you got from your father the other day?" she asked me, making my eyes go wide in shock. This time it is my turn to stammer,

"W... W... W... What are you talking about?" I asked back, causing her to chuckle at my reaction. For the first time since all of this issue began, I'm finally beginning to understand what doctor Fred has been talking about and now I'm beginning to freak out, I'm so f*****g scared of this girl.

"Oh, come on Beth. You know about my abilities and I'm sure you know that I can hear anything I want to with my wolf hearing. I got bitten by a wolf, remember?" she teased with a smile, making me even more scared of her. If she had heard me talking to my father, why didn't she say anything, why keep my secret.

"I don't want anyone to know about my conversation with my father, especially Dominic," I told her firmly, trying to look as serious as I can at this moment.

"It's fine, Beth. I can keep a secret, don't worry about it." She told me teasingly. From the way she said it seems like she was trying to tell me something else that isn't connected to our discussion at all. I think she knows that I saw her sneaking into the house and now she is trying to tell me that I have to keep her secrets because she has to keep mine as well.

"Are you blackmailing me, Ciara?" I asked her in surprise.

"Come on, Beth. We both have something we don't want the others to replace out, let's just help each other here, please," she let out with a smirk, not attempting to hide her true agenda. I think we have all underestimated this girl, she is even more dangerous than we thought.

"Fine, I'll keep your secrets on one condition," I told her.

"Well, it's not like you have a choice because I am also going to keep your secrets, but you can ask me anyway." She responded teasingly, making me chuckle as I shook my head in amazement. I've already forgotten why I had come here in the first place, I've forgotten about all the things I wanted to talk to her about. But I think I can use this to my advantage, I mean, she is in a good mood right now, or so I think anyway. I can at least use this opportunity to replace out what she has been up to, right? "Why did you sneak off in the night, what have you been up to and why the hell have you been asking questions like a cop?" I asked her.

"You don't get to ask me that." She responded fiercely, turning around to walk towards her bed. I followed behind her, refusing to let this go easily. She sat on her bed, resting her back on the headboard and I did the same, I sat in front of her, looking her in the eyes as she tried to avoid my gaze.

"Fine, I'll go first. I don't know if you heard everything, but my father wants to meet with me. He wants to replace a way to end this war without more bloodshed, and he thinks I can help him with his plans. He claims he has what it takes to put an end to this war and he thinks he has it all figured out. The worst part of this is that I actually want to believe him. I know I shouldn't trust him because he chose to be on the enemy's side, but he is still my father and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, I want to meet him and at least hear what he is planning. That is why I haven't told anyone yet, I want to meet him and see if he is truly working on a permanent solution to this endless war. I know it sounds crazy, but I just have to do it because what he has done or who he had hurt in the past, the fact remains that he is still my father, I have to try and save him." I told her honestly, whispering softly so nobody else could hear me. She looked at me for some minutes, weighing her options and trying to decide if she could trust me with her secrets or "First, I'll like to say that you are a complete fool if you listen to your father ever again. I've seen people that work with King Ashford and I can assure you that they are all assholes. I'll advise you to stay as far away as you can from your father, he may still be your father, but he is one of them now and they are all the same, trust me, I'm talking from experience." She advised me. I could see the sadness in her eyes, but I don't want to get distracted from my mission, so I ignored her sadness and continued with my questions, "Thanks for the advice, Cici. But it's your turn now." I reminded her calmly, making her groan in frustration because she obviously doesn't wish to share her own secrets.

not.

"Fine, I'll just answer one of your questions, and that is it. No more questions after this one," she told me firmly, making me nod excitedly as it seems like I am going to replace out something today. If only I know that her questions would only raise more questions than answers, I would have kept mute instead.

"I sneak out in the night to shift into my beast, I'm learning to control my powers." She confessed to me, making my mouth go a gap in shock. I'm sure I look like a complete i***t right now.
