Lorena POV

"Although my hands are still on fire, I feel relieved!" I shouted to Angelica as we wore our clothes and headed back into the cage that leads to the forest. "you can say that again," Angelica answered.

"The water was soothing and I am coming here again if I am allowed as queen," she said and I nodded in response. As we headed back into the forest, I checked my name tag and realized that we only had an hour and ten minutes left. There was no sign of the jewelry which bought me back to the meaning of hunting. The announcer had said that it was a game of intelligence meaning the game was based on testing our abilities and how we were quick to understand things. None of the girls understood what that meant which was why we kept entering deeper into the forests and having no idea where we were heading to.

"intelligence!" I muttered and suddenly stopped walking. I turned back to face where we had started our journey and pointed toward it. Angelica saw me and also stopped walking and also turned. She walked towards me and stood by my side. "why did you suddenly stop huh?" she asked and bought out her name tag. "waiting here would waste our time because we are behind time as it is," she reminded me and I nodded in response. "Then let's go," she said but I shook my head in response. "no," I answered and started walking. "this is a game of intelligence which means walking all the way here was a total waste of time," I said and continued walking.

"how do you mean?" she asked as she ran to catch up with me. "does walking backward means the jewelry is at the back?"

I heaved a sigh and rubbed my forehead. "I have no idea but I believed that the black wolf was our clue," I looked around us walking towards the area where the black bear had attacked us. I saw a tall tree and moved toward it. I touched it and closed my eyes. "Are you turning to a nature reader right now?" angelica teased me and laughed. "wh at the hell are you doing?"

"There," I pointed to the tree behind the tree I touched. It was a similar tree and then beside it was another tree that seemed to bear similarity with the tree. "The pelita tree," I exclaimed and pointed to all the trees that were close to one another but yet they were all different trees.

"peli what?" Angelica chuckled. "what the hell do you mean?"

I smiled widely when I saw a circle formed by the trees with a marking of the sun. this was what the announcer meant when he said intelligence. Only those who knew about the pelita trees would be able to replace the treasure buried deep inside the pit. "pelita trees are known to be trees with different species and they all grow within the same range. Legends said that the pelita tree is known to be a great tree that grant wishes too."

Angelica furrowed her brows probably confused by what I had said. She never expected that I would know such things as a human but it was all thanks to the teaching my father and my mother gave to me. without it, I wouldn't have known anything about the pelita trees. "so you mean that these these

Trees give good luck and you believed the jewelry is buried under it?" angelica asked and I nodded in response. "how do you know all about that?" she asked.

"I learned about If from my father before he passed away. He knew a lot of things about the pelita trees and I learned about it from him," I answered smiling widely as if I had won the lotto.

"wow!" angelica clapped her hands. "I am sure everyone will applaud you for knowing about the pelita trees and also for knowing about where the treasure was."

I nodded and smiled. I couldn't wait to announce it to Fenrir and watched his reaction once he replaces out that I found the trees.

"We better make a wish before replaceing the jewelry," angelica moved closer to me and closed her eyes. "let's make our wishes," she squealed.

I closed my eyes and also made a wish about the humans. I wanted them to be free from slavery.

"I am done," angelica announced and nudged me on the shoulder. "I wished for a happy future with the king."

At the mention of Fenrir, the smile on my face faded and I didn't know how to react. I just felt a kind of sadness inside of me like I didn't like that she was going to be spending her life with Fenrir. Why was I feeling sad? I had no idea.

"what about you Lorena?"

"Me?" I chuckled. "I wished the humans are freed from the world they are in."

"Don't think that would happen but I hope so," she chuckled.

I forced myself to smile and looked down at the circle with the shape of the sun. there had to be a way to open the circle. I walked around it and noticed two spots with red marks. "vila!" I shouted and got angelica's attention. "what is it?" she asked.

"press that red mark," I pointed to the first red mark below her foot and she nodded in response. She crouched down to where the mark was and placed her hand on the red mark.

"so what?" she asked.

"so this," I answered and pressed my hand on the red mark close to me. the circle suddenly opened wide and before we had the chance of running away from it, we both fell inside. Screaming at the top of our lungs, we fell into the deep pit and everything went black. The circle closed and before I blacked out, I wondered where the circle would lead us to.

Maybe somewhere to escape the cruel world that I was in. If that was possible, I wished to escape.
