Lorena

I woke up to a woman cleaning my face with a towel and a bowl of water. I yelled out and moved away from her hitting my head on the wall. "Ouch!" I cried out in pain and rubbed my head gently.

"Who are you?" I asked her.

"I am Mariam. The king assigned me to clean you up," The middle-aged woman introduces herself but I ignored her and stared into her face. She looked like a thirty years old woman and her silver hair made her resemble the woman who nurtured me until I was fifteen years. "You look a mess," she offered her hand for me to take but I ignored It and looked away.

There was no way I was ever going to trust any vampire other than myself ever again.

"I know the king has made you like this but you need to trust that I would never hurt you!" Marian nodded at me while I watched her suspiciously. "I am here to clean you up!" She said and offered her hand again.

I took it and she pulled me up. I shook terribly as I stood up from the ground. The vervain was still in my body and I leaned on Mariam to maintain my balance. "Where are you taking me to?" I asked.

"The king asked me to clean you up and since there is no bathroom here, I'm taking you to the maid's quarter," she answered and gently guide me towards the entrance of the silver prison.

"Why does the king cares about whether I'm clean or not?" I asked.

"The king isn't as bad as everyone thought. It's because you murder his fiancee. That's why he is..."

"Murder his fiancee?" I shouted and tried to push her away but instead I fell to the ground. "I didn't kill anyone," I placed my hand on my bare chest and cried out. "I never killed anyone and now I'm paying for what I didn't do wrong!"

"Listen," Mariam grabbed my chin. "This is the beginning of your suffering and if you don't endure it, you will regret not clearing your name!" She shouted at me and pulled me up. "If truly you didn't kill your sister then stay alive to prove everyone wrong!" She tucked my hair behind my ear and pulled me behind her as we walked out of the silver. We took the left side and arrived inside along hallways with doors facing each other. The doors were painted in red and on each other were the names of whosoever owns the room. "This is the maid's quarters," she pointed to each other as we walked past it. "Every maid has their rooms and..."

"I don't care," I spat out angrily. There was no use to know about maids when I was a prisoner. "Where exactly are you taking me?" I asked her yet again.

"Here," she pointed at a door with the name Lydia. "You will use her room anytime you wish to clean up until the king forgives you and...." "There is no forgiveness in his book!" I shouted and spat out the blood in my mouth. "He will never listen to me!" I told her. Marian didn't respond instead she heaved a sigh and pushed the door open. "Lydia is a free girl and she is..."

"Who is she?" A redhead girl who looks to be around my age demanded Mariam. "Why is she in my room?"

"Because the king gave the orders. You have a problem with it?"Mariam retorted.

"so she is the murderer!" Lydia accused and circled me. "What is a murderer doing in my room when she is supposed to be hanged for the vampire clan to see?" Lydia shouted causing me to shake terribly. "I heard she is a two soul vampire but to me, she seems weak!" She shouted in my ear.

"Stop teasing her," Mariam warned.

"What are you going to do about it?" Lydia folded her arms and kicked me in the leg.

I yelped but held onto Mariam's shoulder. "If the king hears that you are siding with a criminal. Do you know what would happen to you?" She kicked my other leg and I let go of Mariam's shoulder and fell to the ground. "She is just a useless two soul vampire that is now powerless!" Lydia sniffed me and covered her nose in disgust. "She smelled like decay meat and looks dirty," Lydia scratched my face with her nails and I screamed out loud.

Just staring at her made me want to rush at her and stabbed her in the heart until she couldn't take it anymore and die." if you keep taunting her, I'll report you to the king," Mariam warned her. "She is the king's property!"

I am nobody's property, I thought and watched the ladies as they argued back and font until Lydia agreed to let me use her bathroom. "You can go in now and please, don't stain my bathroom with your murderous soul!" She insulted and burst into laughter. "You don't have to worry about that," Mariam assured her as she walked into the bathroom with me.

The bathroom was of small space but bigger than my cell back home. " get in the shower," Mariam ordered. She tore my dress and pushed me into the shower once I was stark naked and turned on the shower. Coldwater rushed out of the shower into my head down to my toes. It was refreshing and I didn't want to leave the shower because it was the only thing that gave me happiness from everything that happened in the past few days. I jumped and scrubbed my face, happy that I could enjoy a tiny bit of happiness for the first time in my life.

"I see you like the shower," Mariam pointed out and smiled at me.

I ignored her and continue jumping in happiness. "I'll go get you a new pair of clothing," Mariam informed me and walked out of the bathroom.

I stood under the shower for a few more minutes not realizing that I had spent a long time bathing. I waited for Mariam as she asked me to but when I didn't see her for a few seconds, I decided to come out of the bathroom.

There was no one else in the room including Lydia. "Mariam," I called as the doorknob leading to the door turned and the door opened with a click.

I gasped as the king walked into Lydia's room. Our eyes met and slowly his eyes left mine and roamed around my naked body.

It was then I realized that I was naked.

"Don't you ever cover yourself in front of me ever again, "The king warned and moved closer to me while I walked backward until my back hit the wall. " where do you think you are running to?"

I visibly gulped and closed my eyes afraid of what he might do to me. I waited for him to hit me but it never came and when I opened my eyes, he was longer in the room with me.

He was gone and then Mariam entered with a look of worry on her face. "What did you do to the king? He wants you in his room now!" Mariam announced.

I gasped and looked at Mariam shocked at the sudden announcement.
