I turn the corner to see Paisley sleeping in her swing. I pick her up, cuddling her to my chest as Itake a seat at the table. I pull the top of my dress down only to reveal my breast to feed Paisleywhen Malachi walks in, looking around until he sees me. I look up to him, clearly not happy to seehim at the moment. "Luna, I'm sorry. It wasn't funny I don't know why I said that" Malachi stutters,looking at me for forgiveness. "That day was not very long ago, and making jokes is way too soon,” Iscold him with a stern voice, still looking down at Paisley. "What if this change doesn't work, andtoday is my last day?" I exclaim with a tear rolling down my cheek.

Malachi looks to me with regret written all over his face. "I'm sorry Chloe. Please forgive me. I didn'tmean it" He pleads, kneeling in front of me. "Luna it will work, and you will be more powerful, andno one will ever mess with you again" he assures me, grabbing my hand. I turn to meet his gaze andreplace him smiling. "Okay, I believe you," I say, pulling him up from his knee. "I love you wolfman. Ican't stay mad at this face” I say, caressing his cheek.

Malachi stands, picking up Paisley from my arms to burp her for me. While I put my boob awayMalachi clears his throat. "It's almost time for the ceremony to start and Cypress agreed to stay withPaisley,” He says, pressing a kiss to my lips. “I'll see you out there, Luna,” Malachi smirks. I smileback, standing, giving him a tight hug, and pressing a soft kiss on his neck. "Damn Luna, you'recausing the guy downstairs to get happy" He laughs wolfishly, which makes me laugh. He smacksmy ass, gripping it a little, making me jump. "Hey now, Mr. Alpha. You can mark your territory later,"I giggle. Malachi turns to walk away, smiling the whole way out of the kitchen.

I turn to look out the window and see all the pack gathering around the fire. I take a deep breathand motivate myself to move for the door. I step outside and walk until I'm standing in front of itwith my heart racing. "You have to do this, Chloe. It's for Paisley and Malachi, I encourage myself asthe guests start to take their seats in front of the fire pit. I notice a member of the council present. Iturn to see Malachi making his way in front of the crowd. I feel my heart skip at the sight of him, thefire lights his face, and it's like my heart wants to jump out and run into his arms. Malachi catchessight of me, and his eyes light up like fireworks. All the doubts fade away.

I start to walk to the firepit and see Amelia sitting with Paul in the front. She gives me a reassuringsmile and blows me a kiss. I catch it and bring it to my heart before stopping at the spot thecouncilman directs me to stand. I bring my eyes to meet Malachi's and we both grin slightly. "Goodevening, Aberdeen pack. Tonight, we gather for this moment to bring a new member into the pack.Let's all look to the moon and pray for the Moon Goddess to accept our offering.” The councilmansays, looking up to the moon, as do all the others.

I look up, closing my eyes, smelling the fresh air as I take it all in. 'Please moon Goddess. I pray toyou. Let me be with my family. You chose me for Malachi. Don't take that away from him now." Ipray as nerves twist in my stomach.

Everyone finishes, and they all look at me. "Now, let's start the ceremony. Chloe, pick up the daggerand cut your hand, letting the blood drip into the cup and Malachi, you do the same once Chloe isfinished.” The councilman directs. I carefully pick up the dagger, turning over my hand to show mypalm. I press the cool metal against my skin and close my fingers around it, slowly slicing my hand. Ilet out a slight gasp from the cut, as my blood falls into the cup. I hand the dagger to Malachi andhe does the same but shows no emotion of pain. I guess being an Alpha has its advantages.

"Now place your hands together and let your blood blend,” the Councilman tells us. We do as hesays and put our hands together, and I catch Malachi looking at me with so much pride. I squeezehis hand. "Keep your hands in place and pour the blood of the gold cup into the fire.” We're told sowe pour it together and the flame shoots almost 30 feet in the air. I lose my balance from beingcaught off guard, but Malachi wraps his arm around me, keeping me in place. "I got you, Luna. I'llnever let you fall,” Malachi whispers in my ear. I look up at him, then lean my head on his shoulder."Chloe, please stand facing Malachi,” The councilman insists. I turn to face him, and Malachi movesclose to me so our bodies touch, and I feel my body heat rise. "I love you, Malachi," I whisper,touching his face softly. Malachi presses a kiss to my lips, and I open my mouth, inviting him in. Weget caught up in the moment of kissing when the councilman clears his throat, "Mr. Jacobson, canwe continue?" He asks, with raised brows. We both start to laugh. "Yeah," Malachi says with a smirk."This may hurt a little,” he tells me, but I smile. "I trust you," I replied, never taking my eyes off him.He moves my hair away from my neck and leans in between my collar bone and neck. I feel hisbreath on my skin, causing goosebumps to rise all over my body. He presses his lips to my skin, andthen a sharp pain shoots through my body, but it only hurts for a moment, before I feel tingles.Malachi backs away from me, putting both his hands on my shoulders. "Are you okay?" He asks,searching my face. "I'm fine," I say, looking to meet his gaze. "The moon is almost at its highestMalachi you must shift to comfort her when the change begins,” The councilman urges. I look to themoon in awe, but then a rush of heat passes through my body "Ahhh!!!" I scream frantically, pattingmy body to make sure it's not on fire. "MALACHI SHIFT NOW," The councilman yells.

Malachi shifts into his massive wolf, walking to me as I fall to my knees in pain. He lays his head inmy lap comforting me as best he can. "It is time everyone! Please back away and give them somespace” The councilman orders and everyone moves from the chairs to the side of the yard. I lookdown at Malachi's wolf and see his eyes are set on me, but then everything gets blurry, and painshoots throughout my body, and I hear my bones start to crack. "AAAAAAHH!!I"...
