Alpha Queen
Chapter 45

Liviana’s POV

I finally decided to go back after a lot of thinking and reflecting.

I really do have to be careful now.

But still, I’d be willing to go through all the trouble for my pack.

Right now, I’m Alpha Liviana Crest.

I’m not Princess Liviana Alaric at the moment.

I haven’t even decided if I can stand up to the title.

I wasn’t raised to be royalty after all.

I was raised to be….what was I raised to be?

I know my father had taught me everything there was about leadership.

About the pack and the people in the pack.

But I don’t think I was prepared specifically for being an Alpha.

Or was I?

I huffed in frustration.

Now, I’m confused.

Great.

My eyes wandered around.

Where am I supposed to go out again?

“Behind the waterfall, Liviana” Amaris mind linked me.

Oh.

I made my way to the back of the waterfall. I walked in the darkness then I saw a hint of light.

I got out by following the light.

I found myself outside of a cave that I sensed was somewhere inside the pack territory.

I looked back for a moment.

I took a deep breath.

I need to go back.

I shifted to my wolf.

Then I ran back to the pack house as fast as I could.

Then I climbed to my room through my balcony.

I took a cold shower and got dressed into something comfortable than the hospital gown.

Then my stomach rumbled.

How long was I even out?

I casually went down to go to the kitchen to get some food.

Thankfully, no one was in the living room and the pack house seemed more quiet than usual.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed an apple then opened the fridge to get some milk.

“Livi!”

I turned to see Theresa wide eyed as I bot into my apple.

“Hey. Is there any leftovers?” I asked shamelessly.

She blinked once, twice and multiple times.

“I’m hungry” I added and she snapped out of her dazed moment.

“Where were you?” she asked worried as she made her way to me and held my face carefully.

“I took a shower?” I said with a shrug. She sighed as she looked at me in disbelief.

“The whole pack is looking for you” she stated.

Oh.

“Can you please call Edmond for me? And maybe slip in a sandwich too?” I said with an awkward smile.

Theresa chuckled and nodded then she went to the fridge and to the pantry to get her ingredients, I think.

I went up to my office and got some papers before heading back down to the living room.

The front door burst open and Dante came in.

His eyes landed on me.

“Hey” I said and he rushed to me before pulling me into a hug.

He was shaking.

“Where have you been?” he said and I heard his voice crack as if he was ready to breakdown right now.

“I took a shower in my room” I said casually. He separated from the hug and looked at me with his brows furrowed.

“We checked everywhere, Liviana. We know you weren’t in your room earlier” he said.

“I was. I even got changed. See?” I said pointing to my fresh clothes.

“Liviana” Dante said in a warning tone.

Then Edmond came in and his eyes landed on me too.

“Livi” he said and made his way to me before pulling me from Dante and hugging me too.

What is up with these men today?

I’m sure I wasn’t even out that long.

Atleast I think I wasn’t.

“We were so worried” he muttered.

“Sorry about that” I said apologetically and we pulled back from the hug.

“You need to go back to the hospital right now and get treated properly” Dante said as he attempted to pull me out of the pack house.

“I’m okay, really” I said pulling myself back. Dante frowned.

“No, you’re not, Liviana. You were stabbed by a fcking silver dagger on the back. You almost died and just earlier today, you were in an induced coma for a week. Are you crazy?” he scolded me.

I was in a coma?

For a week?

“I was in a coma?” I asked clueless. Dante sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

“Yes” he said.

I huffed.

So I was out that long.

No wonder I was starving.

“Let’s sit down and talk” I said calmly as I made my way back to the sofa.

“No, Liviana. We’re going to the hospital right now to get you treated” Dante said.

“Livi, you should really go back to the hospital” Edmond tried to convince me.

“I don’t need to go back to get treated” I said calmly. Dante frowned again and gave me a warning look.

“You’re going back to get treated—“

“There’s nothing to treat, okay?” I stated in frustration.

Theresa came out of the kitchen and El arrived.

“There’s no wound or injury to treat. It’s gone” I said.

Everyone looked at me confused.

I sighed.

I turned my back on them and pulled on the back of my shirt.

Everyone was quiet.

How am I supposed to explain this one?

That I met the moon goddess herself and then ended up in a waterfall afterwards.

I sat on the sofa and motioned them to sit down as well.

Theresa put down the food on the table in front of me.

It wasn’t just a sandwich.

It was a whole steak with different sides.

And as much as I wanted to devour it immediately, I couldn’t.

Not with these confused people in front of me looking at me like I came from another planet.

Another realm probably.

The door burst open again and I turned to look at who it was but the mate bond already gave it away.

I smiled at the sight of Luan.

“Hey” I greeted him and then he rushed to me and hugged me.

And I felt safe in that moment.

I forgot the pain I had experienced back in the rogue attack.

“I’ve been looking for you” he whispered breathlessly. I chuckled.

“It seems so” I said I lightly caressed his back. He hugged me tighter.

Like he was afraid that I’d disappear again.

And even I was afraid that I’d suddenly disappear too.

“Where did you go?” he asked still breathless.

“Just here and there” I muttered.

Luan pulled back and I almost wanted to complain but chose not to.

My pride said I wasn’t that clingy type of btch.

Luan checked my whole body frantically.

“We need to get you back to the hospital” he said as he suddenly lifted me up bridal style.

I squeaked in surprise.

“No! Let me down right now!” I said as I squirmed out of his hold and got out.

“Liviana, this is not the time to be stubborn. You need to go see your doctor” he said sternly.

I took a deep breath.

“To what? To explain to them how my wound suddenly just disappeared like nothing happened? Like I wasn’t stabbed by a silver dagger on the back? It’s already so hard to explain it to all of you here and you expect me to explain it to the doctor too?” I said.

“What? Your wound disappeared?” he said with his brows furrowed.

I sighed and turned my back to him before pulling the back of my shirt again like I did earlier.

“It’s gone” I stated then looked at him again to see his shocked and confused expression.

“You have a mark, Liviana” he said making me confused.

“What?” I asked again.

“A mark” he said again. I raised a brow at him then turned to look at everyone else.

“What mark?” I asked confused.

“A moon mark, Liviana” Dante answered me.

A moon mark?

My brows furrowed and I rushed to the bathroom and the proceeded to take of my top.

I turned my back to face the mirror and my mouth gaped open.

Right in the spot where my wound should have been is a a mark shaped like a crescent moon.

I tried to reach for it and it glowed at my touch.

The moon goddess’ mark.

Luan came to the door and once he saw that I was only wearing my bra, he turned his back immediately.

“I—uhm s-sorry” he stuttered.

I put my top back on.

I held on to the bathroom sink as I stared into the mirror at myself.

I took a deep calming breath.

I have the moon goddess’ mark.

“Liviana” Luan called out and I looked at him as he stood by the bathroom door.

I walked towards Luan ang hugged him tightly.

Luan was surprised but he still wrapped his own arms around me protectively.

“Do you sense it?” I whispered.

Luan didn’t answer immediately.

“Yes, I do now” he admitted.

My arms fell to my side.

I’m really doomed now.

I can mask my scent and hide my strong aura but bearing the moon goddess’ mark is something else.

Any wolf will sense it.

It will probably feel foreign to them but I’m sure they’ll eventually figure it out.

It’s been a while since someone bared the mark of the moon goddess herself.

And now, I have it.

It will just be a matter of time before someone out of my pack replaces out and it will surely travel around.

And the last thing I wanted right now was to gain the attention of everyone in Lunar.

Not with all these secrets I found in my life.

Before, I didn’t really have anything to hide.

But now is a different story.

Who knows what will happen if everyone replaces out that I’m King Kale Alaric’s daughter from Princess Diana White.

I’m sure that there must’ve been a reason why my parents went to such extremes for no one to know until I was ready.

And I’m not ready.

Not even close.

“Whatever it is you’re worrying about, it’ll be okay, Liviana. I’m here now and I won’t let anything bad happen to you” Luan assured me as he caressed my hair lightly.

“What if everyone replaces out?” I muttered.

“Find out that you carry the moon goddess’ mark?” he said.

“Find out that I’m the Princess. The result of the King and Princess’ forbidden love” I whispered.

Luan stopped what he was doing.

We both knew how big of a deal it was.

If everyone replaces out who I truly am.

The most likely scenario is I’ll be hunted down.

And my pack might even suffer for it. That’s what terrifies me the most.

I can’t let it happen.

I won’t let it happen.

Even if it means I’ll need to claim the throne to ensure the safety of my people.
